Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3775: A Huge Bet

Chapter 3775: A Huge Bet

The man had a cultivation base of Immortal Spirit 4th realm, so he wasn’t particularly afraid of Alex at all. As such, he didn’t care enough to take what he said into mind either. Without waiting at all, the man challenged Alex.

The crowd grew even bigger now, all of the bored cultivators wanting to see the drama unfold. That was most likely the major part of it, but another part was that after this battle was over, the others would have to come and challenge Alex as well.

That had been their plan. Everyone would challenge Alex one at a time, making his life hell with the constant challenges that would come at him nonstop. If they could have those challenges last throughout the night, they could go into the morning and force Alex to take them again.

That was how communities fought outsiders in general.

Alex’s eyes fell on the young man he had met upon arriving inside the community, the one who knew more about him than the others. A wide grin lay on his face at the moment, as he couldn’t wait to see what would happen next.

Alex turned to the man who challenged him and nodded. "Alright. Call me the Sun God, and I’ll go easy on you."

"What?" the man asked with confusion.

"Call me the Sun God," Alex said again.

"Do you think you’re a god?" the man asked, letting out a loud harrumph. "Choose the challenge already."

Alex sighed. "Well, if you don’t want me going easy on you, then I won’t. As for the challenge, I unfortunately cannot choose it at all, because I am going to raise the amount for the gamble. How does... 3000 stars sound?"

Alex wanted to go higher at first, perhaps even 10 thousand, but he didn’t want the man to refuse immediately. He wasn’t sure how much the man had, but 3000 sounded low enough that he might accept it.

Alex expected the man to be surprised by his increase in the bet, perhaps angry as well. But the man instead began laughing out loud like a maniac.

"You fool. You absolute idiot. Do you not know that you lose your right to choose a challenge when you add to the bet?" the man asked.

There were many in the crowd that laughed as well. Many remained silent, somber even. Only a few held grins that showed that they knew things.

Alex looked at the ones with the somber looks. It showed that they were worried for what would happen to him. He couldn’t understand why they would be worried. Except...

’They’re not happy with the current community,’ Alex realized.

It was obviously an oppressive community, and they had likely been hoping to leave but hadn’t found the courage to do so. The thing that was going to happen to him would happen to everyone else as well.

Alex had no intention of helping anyone out, but if things just happened to line up, he didn’t mind.

The voice came from above, presenting Alex and the man with the challenge they would be facing each other in. It was a simple one.

Defeat the other person while remaining over 100 meters away from each other.

Alex moved 100 meters away from the man and looked back. "You still have a chance," he said. "You can get out of this with your dignity intact. Just call me the Sun God."

The man let out a single laugh. "You don’t realize what is happening, do you? Do you not see how you are about to lose?"

Alex shook his head. "I don’t, because that’s not happening."

The man shook his head. "You’ll see the truth soon because I’m going to add to the bet myself. Since you wanted to do so as well, I am going to push it up to 12 thousand."

Several gasps rang from all around the place. To them, even a few thousand stars was a lot, so to see 12 thousand of them being traded for a single match was far too much.

"Don’t worry, you’ll only need to pay what you have if you don’t have the whole 12 thousand," the man said.

Alex sadly couldn’t add to the bet anymore, or he absolutely would.

"Well, let’s not waste too much time then," he said and pointed toward the man. Ice formed around him, turning into ice spears that were ready to shoot out.

The man brought out an actual spear, ready to fight. Alex raised an eyebrow, curious how well he could use it. The man swung his spear, releasing an attack with Spear Aura attached to it. It flew toward Alex with incredible speed, so Alex threw one of his ice spears at the man as well.

The two attacks clashed in the middle, destroying each other.

Alex raised an eyebrow with a hint of surprise, while the man narrowed his eyes in confusion. As of right now, Alex’s cultivation base was in the Immortal Transcendent 6th realm, which made his actual Qi cultivation strength somewhere around Immortal Spirit 7th realm. Because he hadn’t used anything else within the ice spears, that was the pure power they held.

Meaning, the Immortal Spirit 4th realm man before him had enough Battle Power and Spear Intent to reach the same strength as Alex.

Alex nodded slowly. "Not bad," he said. "You did better than I thought you would."

The man looked up at Alex, slight anger filling his face again. "I’ll end this now."

Alex grinned as more ice spears floated around him. "Go right ahead. I’ll see how long you can last."

He let the spears fly forward.

One after another, the spears whistled through the air, making their way toward the man. The man attacked with his own spear, using techniques to let out a volley of attacks even, but he could not outdo Alex in these attacks.

There were enough ice spears that a few did manage to overpower the man’s attacks, and not long after, they all hit him.

At that point, the man was easily defeated.
