Chapter 3855: Leaving the Workshop

Once the shield was cleansed of all the Reduction aura, Alex handed Ray the feathers and asked him to use the first bracer on them again. Meanwhile, he took the shield outside and looked at it more closely.

"I imagined a strong shield to protect everything, but this can’t do that, can it?" Alex asked.

"Hmm? Oh, yes," the Artifact God nodded. "Even if it can defend against part of the attack, the force still has to go somewhere, and some of it flows right onto you. No defense is 100%."

Alex nodded. "But this one helps mitigate even that when active since it spreads the force away from the person using it."

It was a well-thought-out artifact that perfectly played into its own advantages.

The Artifact God was slightly distracted, working on the single feather bead she had gotten from the start as she tried to imagine what it was that she wanted to do with it. The robe she made couldn’t just be a normal robe but rather an artifact, so it needed to do something good.

Not only that, since Alex didn’t want her to promote the shield as the Primordial artifact, she would have to rely on the robe, so there was added pressure on her.

After a while, the Artifact God stood up. "We should leave."

"Leave? But the feathers aren’t done yet. I still need some time before they are all finished," he said.

"Yes, and you can keep those with you when you’re done," the Artifact God said. "For now, we need to leave since there’s nothing else to do in here. I can’t start on your robe until I get an idea of what I want to do with it, and until I do, it is better that I go interact with the newcomers outside. More Gods should be coming, and they will want to meet me too. I can’t stay in here all year long."

Alex slowly nodded in understanding.

"I see. Then we should leave."

Alex placed the shield into his Soul Space and walked out with the Artifact God. As they left, the Artifact God gave him one last piece of advice.

"Keep training with the technique I gave you. Try and use it on more than just regular materials so that you get a better understanding of their aura. Once I’m sure you know enough about it, we’ll move your training to the next stage."

Alex’s eyes widened in surprise. "Thank you, senior."

The two finally went their separate ways.

Alex messaged his master to see if she needed him for something. However, it didn’t seem like she did, so Alex returned to his courtyard. His family were all distracted with their own cultivation and training, so he didn’t interact with them for too long this time.

Instantly, he decided to go cultivate.

During the time Alex was gone, Emily had trained with his platform for a long time and finally managed to gain her own Dao as well. Now, all that she and the older Alex needed was to cultivate and reach Immortality as soon as possible.

Alex took in everyone who wanted to cultivate in his Soul Space for the foreseeable future, which turned out to be nearly everyone aside from Hannah and Ronron.

Ronron believed she had cultivated long enough and needed to return to work once again, and Hannah simply couldn’t cultivate inside Alex’s Soul Space. As such, those two remained outside.

Inside his Soul Space, Alex had shut down the formation, causing the sped-up time to no longer work the same way as it did before. To them, time outside and inside would remain the same. Fortunately, Alex would be speeding things up on the outside, so nothing was lost.

"I can’t use the formation inside and the formation outside at the same time," Alex explained to them. "I would have normally let you use the formation for as long as it lasts, but Ray is currently deep in some important work, and I simply cannot allow the work to be interrupted by all the energy in here getting used up. I hope you all understand."

"Don’t worry, brother," Pearl said quickly. "We understand."

"Yes, just focus on yourself, son," Helen said.

Alex smiled. "Also, I want you all to try out the shield we made from the Flood Dragon’s Scale. Try and see if you can come up with a fitting name for it too while you’re at it. I still haven’t given it a name."

"Who’s going to get it?" Scarlet asked rather curiously.

"Anyone with a Water root, I think," Alex said. "So, not you, Pearl, or Ronron. Most likely not Father since his Qi is weak, and he doesn’t need a shield in the first place. So that leaves Mother, Aunt Liz, and Sister."

"Aren’t you taking it, son?" Helen asked. "You don’t need to think about us all the time. Just make the most of what you can use yourself."

Alex smiled a little. "I understand, Mother. I have indeed decided to give it to someone else since it isn’t much use to me. And more than that, I have another artifact being made soon enough, so I won’t be needing this."

"Oh, in that case, give it to Hannah," Liz said almost immediately. "She’s the strongest of us and can make the most out of an artifact like that."

"Yes, that sounds fair," Helen said.

Alex listened to their conversation and nodded to himself. "Okay. I’ll do that once I get the chance, then," he said. "For now, test the shield and let me know what you think of it. In the meantime, I’ll focus on cultivating. I want to break through in one sitting, so this will be a long cultivation session for me."

"Take your time," Helen said. "We have nowhere to be."

Alex returned his attention outside and looked at Sunflare.

"I will be cultivating for a while, senior. Will you stay here for all that time?" he asked.

"Ignore me and do what you must," the old man said.

Alex nodded. He activated the formation upon which he sat and tossed out a few treasures for Qi. Then, he started cultivating.
