Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 3901: Swiftslash’s Designation

Chapter 3901: Swiftslash’s Designation

In a palace with a Celestial Spirit vein underneath it, the region of space within was far stronger than almost anywhere else. As a result, attacks that might tear space elsewhere didn’t do much inside there at all.

And yet, despite that, Alex’s attack tore along the seams of the fabric of reality, creating a split into the Void that failed to heal before the attack reached Swiftslash.

Swiftslash had been surprised by Alex’s previous attacks, as well as the fact that he had already learned Sword Heart. That was one of the biggest hurdles a person usually had as a swordsman, after all.

And yet, this was somehow more surprising than everything else.

The biggest reason for that was that Swiftslash understood the source of this attack. He understood the inspiration behind it.

And yet, the attack Alex had created was much stronger than either one of them.

His sword flashed with a bright green light in an instant, and he cut the air itself as he struck the attack with a powerful slash.

A powerful explosion occurred right before him, with space growing turbulent for a second before calming again.

He returned to a calmer stance and looked at the space before him with a satisfied smile before turning toward Alex.

"That was incredible."

Alex failed to show any emotion on his face except shock. He understood that the man before him was strong, but he didn’t have the strongest cultivation base. As a result, he had thought Swiftslash would somewhat struggle against his attack, which had Space and Time added to it.

But as easily as a man swatting at a fly, he had destroyed his attack and didn’t even seem bothered by the explosion right before him.

More than that, Alex had noticed something about the attack that felt different from the previous ones. The attack contained the Dao of Swiftness as before, but it felt more ingrained into the sword.

Almost as if...

"Was that... your Dao Sword?" Alex asked.

Swiftslash raised an eyebrow. "You saw it? Well, that’s embarrassing. I pride myself on the speed of my attacks. I didn’t think you would have noticed."

Alex likely wouldn’t have if it were just his spiritual sense. But with his Demon Eyes, he had managed to barely see it. If he had used his Time Daos, it might have been easier to see everything, but given that he was training, he chose not to.

"Yes, this is indeed my Dao Sword," Swiftslash said.

"What came first?" Alex asked. "Your name or the Dao Sword?"

"My name," Swiftslash said. "But I did model my Dao Sword after my name."

"I see. Have you learned more Dao Swords than this?" Alex asked.

"A few more," Swiftslash answered without hesitation. "But I’ve gotten rid of a few of them already. I think this is going to be my final Dao Sword, but it’s too early to tell."

Alex reacted to those words with quite a bit of surprise. It took a person a lot of time to form various Dao Swords and then get rid of them as they searched for their final Dao Sword. If the man had already gotten through most of them, then he was close to being done with it.

And once he found his True Dao Sword, he would be one step away from the highest rank a swordsman could reach.

One with the Sword.

"Incredible," Alex said in praise. "You are quite talented then, senior brother. You are in line to become the next Sword God soon, in my eyes. If not that, you can at least become a Sword Sage."

Swiftslash let out an involuntary chuckle before fully laughing out loud.

Alex looked around at the strange reaction to his words. Had he said something funny?

He turned toward Bladedance and saw her slowly shaking her head.

"Did I say something wrong?" he asked.

Bladedance let out a sigh. "It’s nothing. Just that you just told a Sword Sage he could become a Sword Sage."

Alex froze for a second before turning toward Swiftslash, who put up his hand, trying to hold back his laughter.

"I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have laughed. But it was really funny."

Alex blinked. "You’re a Sword Sage?"

"Yes," the man said, taking a deep breath as he stopped laughing. "I became a Sword Sage a while back, after Her Majesty disappeared. It was around the same time Purplerain got promoted from a Sage to a God."

"I see," Alex said. "That was a long time ago, then."

Swiftslash nodded. He was about to say something when he glanced at Bladedance and stopped himself.

"We’re going to get scolded if we stop again. Let us continue training," he said. "Do you have any other attacks that are stronger than this? You’ve surprised me quite a bit so far with your techniques. This last one especially was quite powerful from what I could feel. Much more than the technique Her Majesty learned back in the Split Sky Realm."

"She did teach me a method to cut space, and I adapted that into my technique," Alex answered.

"Great. So, do you have anything else for me?" Swiftslash asked.

Alex nodded. "I do have one more attack. I can’t really say how strong it actually is, though, since I’ve never used it before."

Swiftslash frowned slightly. "Never used it before? How come?"

Alex lifted Nightslayer into a swinging stance. Suddenly, the sword came alive with a bright yellow light that shone as brightly as the sun itself.

"I forged a new sword and have yet to use the technique ingrained into it," he explained. "Would you mind being the first person to defend against it?"

Swiftslash stared at the glowing sword in awe. While the aura that came from inside the sword wasn’t strong in itself, the depth of the aura was perhaps greater than anything else he had sensed in a long time.

He readied himself and nodded.

"Alright. Give it to me. Let me see what your sword can do."
