"How did you do that?" the Supreme Leader asked, finally snapping out of his shock from seeing that the absolute kill combo that he had created with the Emissary of Light failed, when it had never failed them till date.

They had big plans for this nameless combo of theirs. They were planning to ambush and assassinate the Masters using it, but seeing that it failed against a boy who hadn’t even entered the ranks of a card demigod, the Supreme Leader no longer had the confidence to use it against the Masters.

These guys had been ruling the five regions since its founding, while those who actually shed blood, both their own and their enemies’, to make the idea of five regions possible were long dead and forgotten in the pages of history. Facing such people, no mistake was allowed, but to see that their absolute kill combo fail, along with the Matron’s betrayal, was a big wake-up call for him. Recently, he had time and again been reminded that things do not always go as planned.

For a while, it felt like the world had turned against him when he failed to kill a mortal boy and stage his death as an accident or suicide for the Matron. That was quite baffling.

Things once again began to work in his favor, especially when Gideon Grim sought him out and provided him with all the materials and knowledge needed to raise his undead card apprentice legion and bring their plans to fruition years ahead of the timeline they had decided on.

That didn’t last long, as he was assigned to capture the same mortal boy he had failed to kill and stage as an accident or suicide. This time, he didn’t dare to underestimate the boy and brought three allies and their armies with him. Yet, one betrayed him and one died, before even they reached the boy. And when they did the last was separated from him. As for their armies, they were wiped out, captured, or turned coat.

The Supreme Leader was starting to feel like the mortal boy was the bane of his existence, someone nature had specifically created to act as his kryptonite. He didn’t used to believe in such things, but right now, he had to.

Seeing the Supreme Leader open his third eye, the Eye of Prosperity to be exact, I smiled, knowing that he was finally taking this fight seriously. But having seen its counterpart, the Eye of Fortune, at work, I couldn’t help but get curious and ask, "What is your Eye of Prosperity telling you?"

My words awakened the Supreme Leader from his thoughts. Seeing that I was finally speaking, even though it was a question, he bargained, "Tell me how you managed to defeat our combo attack, and I will tell you what my Eye of Prosperity is telling me."

"How did you know that I defeated your combo attack? Was it your Eye of Prosperity?" I asked.

The combo attack occurred, almost killed me, until it never happened. Meaning, except for me, nobody should know that I rewound the collapsing reality by replacing the cause and resetting the chain of events to favor me.

Yet, the Supreme Leader somehow knew that it had not only happened, but that it was I who not only survived it but made it seem like it never happened. It meant that his Eye of Prosperity told him that. It had to be; after all, it was half of the Tao Eye.

The Supreme Leader answered me with a nod. I almost squealed in excitement at the prospect of getting my hands on both the Eye of Fortune and the Eye of Prosperity and recreating the Tao Eye.

Calming myself, I negotiated, proposing a counterproposal to the one the Supreme Leader had proposed. Actually, they weren’t much different, except for one little detail. "That doesn’t sound fair, does it? How about you tell me everything about the Eye of Prosperity and what it is showing you, and I will tell you how I survived and beat your combo attack? Deal?"

"Alright. Since you proposed it, you go first," the Supreme Leader agreed, using polite courtesy to kick the ball into my court. This time, I didn’t mind, as the former wasn’t learning my limitless celestial blood rule domain without my permission.

"Fine, I will go first then," I agreed, without bothering to ask him to take an oath, swearing he would keep his end of the deal after I did mine.

"I was able to survive and undo your attack because I think I might have comprehended the causality rule when I was near death," I answered honestly. This was the reasonable conclusion that I and the Hive Spirit arrived at after eliminating all the other possibilities, including my mysterious transmigration into this body in this world. But I wasn’t certain because I could sense the rule of causality, yet I hadn’t even started my comprehension of it. There was a lot more to unpack here. The Hive Spirit was working on it. After all, causality rule was one of the most complex rules out there,

"What do you mean you might have comprehended the causality rule? You either comprehended it or you didn’t," the Supreme Leader shouted, feeling that I was deceiving him.

"I don’t know, but I am certain it was because of the causality rule. I’ve told you everything I know; now it’s up to you whether you believe it or not," I said, shrugging my shoulders, not wanting to argue with someone who had brought me so many gifts. His entire existence was a walking treasure trove of origin cards, physiques, traits, relics, etc.

The Supreme Leader looked at me for a while before beginning, "Since you identified the Eye of Prosperity, I take it you know the Eye of Fortune."
