Chapter 3205: The Inevitable End

Chapter 3205: The Inevitable End

Date: Unspecified

Time: Unspecified

Location: Myriad Cosmos Corridor, Unknow

If a cosmos was too peaceful, its population would grow exponentially and disturb the harmony of the said cosmos’s matter and energy, triggering a cosmic apocalypse event way before its time.

If a cosmos were riddled with war, its population would shrink drastically, disturbing the balance between the matter and energy of said cosmos, pushing it toward a cosmic apocalypse event way sooner than it was destined to.

If a cosmos had enough peace and war to maintain the balance between its matter and energy, the said cosmos would still meet an apocalyptic end, only this time it would be on time instead of way sooner.

I contemplated BoBo’s words while contemplating what the workings of a cosmos meant for its natives.

And it seemed that the only way for a being to escape the apocalyptic destiny of their cosmos was to achieve transcendence, sense the myriad cosmos, and gain the ability to travel between cosmoses.

Putting it this way, the hype around achieving transcendence finally made sense to me. It was more worth it if you could take your loved ones to a different cosmos as yours died.

But then again, achieving transcendence and sensing the myriad cosmos had more to it than just traveling between cosmoses. The transcendents could now freely comprehend and use original energies and their derivatives from across the myriad cosmos without having to worry about energy contamination.

Well, the same was not true for their loved ones, though. They would face energy contamination if they tried to comprehend energies from another realm, let alone another cosmos.

I guess that kept the transcendents from dismantling their cosmos for their growing appetite and kept them anchored to it, protecting it from other transcendents.

Otherwise, all transcendents would crowd the cosmos with the best resources for their loved ones, clans, and race. But knowing that overcrowding might trigger a cosmic apocalypse, they might kick-start a war on a myriad-cosmos level over good cosmoses.

"It is already happening across the myriad cosmos," BoBo said, confirming my long-standing suspicion that she not only felt my thoughts but also heard them clearly enough.

"How? Mortals shouldn’t be able to sense and comprehend the energies of other cosmoses without energy contamination," I asked in astonishment, not calling out BoBo for reading my mind without my permission.

"Well, a group of early transcendents discovered a way to help beings not native to a cosmos comprehend the energies and their derivatives in it by using the celestial will fragments of that cosmos.

"Since then, the myriad cosmos has never been peaceful. Fortunately for you, your cosmos doesn’t have a path to transcendence. Hence, it’s not a part of the ongoing war between the transcendents across the myriad cosmos," BoBo explained, her tone conveying that she missed the time when the myriad cosmos was peaceful. I guess that was to be expected of an observer of the myriad cosmos.

Listening to her words, I could not help but think that the Dark Races were already a lot for the natives of the myriad realms, but if there were races with transcendents too, then the myriad realms would be too dangerous for other native races to survive in.

Speaking of myriad realms, a sudden thought just flashed through my mind, causing my body to be drenched in cold sweat.

The primordial pixies of the myriad realms were cursed and enslaved by the Barred Beings. They no longer knew that they were primordial pixies and hadn’t created a new realm for several millennia now. I guess, except for Ceed.

The World Calamity Seeds were being hunted down to extinction across the known myriad realms. However, due to the creation of the sentient spell Demon Merchant Code, the Dark Races had been destroying realms and massacring native races one after another as if there were no tomorrow. Even faster than the World Calamity Seeds ever could have.

As a result, the cosmic balance of the myriad realms was in shambles. There was more energy than matter in the myriad realms. Meaning, there was more energy fueling the myriad realms’ expansion, accelerating it. At this rate, the violent expansion would rip the myriad realms apart if they did not collide with another cosmos, triggering reverse expansion. The latter was better news for the myriad cosmos than the former, but not for me or the Card World.

The more I thought about the current state of the Myriad Realms, the more my body got drenched in cold sweat. I thought as long as I gained enough strength, my loved ones and I would be able to live peacefully, but it turned out that if I didn’t do anything, the Card World...

At this rate, a cosmic apocalypse event was inevitable in the Myriad Realms. The question was:

How much time did the myriad realms have?

Or, more importantly,

Was there still time for me to rectify it?

"Now, you know why I told you about the Barred Beings and them cursing the Primordial Pixies of your realm," BoBo suddenly said, walking me from my grim thoughts.

"I’m guessing there is still hope for the myriad realms?" I concluded based on my conversation with BoBo so far. If there was no hope for the Myriad Realms, she wouldn’t have bothered informing me about the Barred Beings and what they were doing.

"Yes, and that’s you, a hybrid World Calamity Tree mutant with complete consciousness who doesn’t have the self-destructive, insatiable hunger of a World Calamity Tree. As long as you rid the Primordial Pixies of the curse, they will handle the rest. Still, it’s your choice what you do with this information. No pressure," BoBo replied, followed by her awful giggle as she rolled in my hair, having the time of her life. "But if you were to end up saving the Primordial Pixies, then you’ve got to do it in this century of your cosmos. Primordial Pixies are no miracle workers. They will need time to undo the damage and bring balance to your cosmos."
