“Miss Lu, I think you should leave the Sun Corporation to Feiyan and Qiyan and pursue your career in cooking. I’m pretty sure that with your talent, it would be easy for you to land a decent job after graduating from Silver Leaf,” Chu Ting continued to mock her.
“It must be hard for Miss Lu to choose between her dream and Sun Corporation. Filial piety is expected from the younger generation. Miss Lu has filial piety; thus, she had to listen to Grandfather Sun’s words.” One of their friends decided to join the fun.
“Miss Lu, don’t take it to your heart. We’re just worried about Sun Corporation’s future. We also know how you want to pursue your career in the culinary industry. How about this? Once you graduated from Silver Leaf, our family can hire you as our executive chef? What do you say?” Chu Ting checked her well-manicured nails before belittling Lu Xinyi with her eyes.
Tang Lilou, who was standing next to Lu Xinyi, was trembling with anger. Her cute face was slightly flushed, her hands itching to slap the grin off of Chu Ting’s face.
How dare this cheap, B-rated actress mock her Xin Jie?! Lu Xinyi was the current first miss of the Tang family, the third miss of the Suns, and the Young Madam of the Shens! Yet Chu Ting wanted Lu Xinyi to lower herself and serve the Chu family as their personal chef?
Preposterous! Chu Ting surely didn’t know whom she was trying to bully at all!
“Ah, thank you for the offer, Miss Chu. However, I have to decline your offer although it seems like a good opportunity to work for you.” Lu Xinyi folded her arms in front of her chest, assuming a no-nonsense stance, refusing to crumble under Chu Ting’s provocation.
“Why, Miss Lu?” Chu Ting feigned the disappointment in her voice. “I assure you, our family will compensate you well. You wouldn’t be short with money and don’t have to compete with your cousins for inheritance.”
Lu Xinyi couldn’t help but laugh at what Chu Ting said. It was now crystal clear to her why Sun Qiyan brought this woman with her.
“Miss Chu, it’s not that I don’t want to. Surely, you know how good I am in the kitchen. I’m afraid you’ll gain a lot of calories, and that would be hard to burn and shed to your body. What’s more, if Qiyan hasn’t told you yet, I hold grudges against those women who covet after my man.”
On this, Lu Xinyi’s voice became stern and cold. Her eyes had a glint of mischief on it.
“Who knows, you might be enjoying the dish I served without knowing I added poison in it.”
Sun Qiyan and her friends were shocked by Lu Xinyi’s words. Of course, they got a clear warning against Chu Ting if she continued to pursue President Shen. It was just that they didn’t expect that Lu Xinyi could be too blunt and wouldn’t hold back if she was provoked.
Chu Ting’s face paled at Lu Xinyi’s words.
“You… you…” but she couldn’t find any words to refute against the little devil.
“Calm down, Miss Chu. It’s a joke, not a dick. Don’t take it so hard, darling.” Lu Xinyi let a devilish smile crossed on her lips.
From pale white, Chu Ting’s face turned beet red.
Tang Lilou burst into a round of laughter after hearing what her Xin Jie said. She tried to cover her mouth to tone down her laugh but failed. Tears welled up in her eyes as Lu Xinyi patted her back, telling her to calm down.
“It isn’t like Chu Ting couldn’t take it. She had taken enough dicks in her mouth. I’m sure she’ll be just fine.” Tang Lilou continued to laugh hysterically. ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ
“Lou’er!” Lu Xinyi chastised her younger cousin. “That isn’t a nice thing to say about Miss Chu!”
Her words seemed like she was lecturing Tang Lilou, but the mocking gaze she’d thrown on Chu Ting’s way was enough to tell everyone she didn’t care about the other woman’s image at all.
“But Xin Jie! I’m just stating the truth. What’s wrong with that?” Tang Lilou wiped the tears in her eyes.
While it wasn’t known to the public, the movie where Chu Ting that made her extremely popular was supposed to be Zheng Yue’s debut movie. It had been long decided that Zheng Yue would play the lead role as this was her first attempt in building an acting career, and Chu Ting would play the supporting role.
Everyone was left speechless during the press conference for the movie when Zheng Yue was kicked out of the production, and Chu Ting took over the lead role. After some investigation, Griffin Entertainment found out that Chu Ting got the role by sleeping with a producer and its director.
Chu Ting was about to slap Tang Lilou’s face. She lifted her right hand to give the young woman a lesson for messing up with her, but her wrist was caught midair by Lu Xinyi who had enough of her stupidity.
“Miss Chu, should I remind you who you are attempting to hit?” Lu Xinyi pulled Chu Ting’s wrist painfully, making her scoot closer to her face.
Chu Ting might be a few inches taller than Lu Xinyi, but this little devil refused to back down. Her eyes ablaze as she sneered on Chu Ting’s face.
Chu Ting gasped in pain. For a woman like Lu Xinyi, she surely had the strength that could hurt her. She stared down Lu Xinyi with wide eyes. She hadn’t expected that Lu Xinyi was like this.
“I have to commend your bravery for provoking a Sun and a Tang miss at the same time, Miss Chu. I didn’t think that anyone, in their right mind, has the ability to do so. But… are you really sure you want to mess with me and Tang Lilou? Do you think the Chu family could handle it if both families turn against you?” Lu Xinyi’s eyes turned chilly, enough to make Chu Ting tremble in fear.
The Chu and the Xi family were still below compared to the Sun and Tang families.
Lu Xinyi threw Chu Ting’s wrist away from her, making the other woman stumbled back. It was a good thing that Sun Qiyan was standing behind Chu Ting, and she caught her before she fell to the ground.
“Lu Xinyi, are you out of your mind?! You just came back, and you want to humiliate our family with you?” Sun Qiyan was seething with anger. She was wrong to assume that Chu Ting could deal with this cousin of hers.
Lu Xinyi’s brows drew together in confusion. Why was this stupid cousin of hers not using her brain properly? It was her who invited Chu Ting with her.
Sun Qiyan never knew anyone who could be as shameless and straightforward as Lu Xinyi.
“Fuck. I wish I understand what you are saying, but I don’t know how to bark,” Lu Xinyi replied.
“Lu Xinyi! It’s understandable that you don’t have proper manners as a young miss, but haven’t you considered everyone’s opinion?”
“Ah, indeed. I can consider everyone’s opinion except yours.” The woman in question nodded before cupping her chin out of habit. “Your opinions matter for some. Just not to me.”
Tang Lilou giggled beside her Xin Jie. Her Xin Jie was really good at putting these bitches in their rightful places.
