She gasped sharply, her heart nearly stopping in her chest when she saw Yu Qi standing right there, motionless outside the house like a silent spectre. She was also completely taken aback when she realised that Yu Qi’s eyes had met her own through the glass. For a brief, disorienting moment, Sang Yuling’s mind went completely blank with terror, unable to process what she was seeing.

Master Chunwei frowned deeply. He knew his windows were heavily tinted from the outside. They should have looked like nothing more than dark, reflective mirrors. There was no logical way that Yu Qi could see inside the house. However, his eyes had indeed met Yu Qi’s gaze, and the girl had even offered a small, knowing smile the very moment their gazes locked.

"How did she... how did she find us?" Sang Yuling whispered, her voice cracking under the pressure of her fear.
