Chapter 2716: Chapter 2716: Let Xiaohua And Xiaoliu Out
Lou Weizhe and Lou Liwei immediately followed her anxious gaze.
"How... How is this possible?" Lou Liwei mumbled in utter disbelief. "The records clearly stated that the artifact contained the missing soul. We were supposed to summon her back..."
"We were probably deceived from the very beginning." Lou Weizhe’s expression darkened considerably. "Someone deliberately sealed this thing inside the bracelet and masked its aura to resemble a fragmented soul. You did not perform a soul summoning ritual at all, Master. You simply broke its seal."
Long Hui glanced toward the thrashing creature, his hand resting on the hilt of his weapon. Sensing that the creature was secretly gathering its strength for a desperate and explosive breakthrough attempt against Yu Qi’s array, his eyes narrowed into cold slits.
A dense, suffocating layer of pure martial intent enveloped his body. The sheer pressure radiating from him caused the loose gravel on the ground to tremble and vibrate loudly.
Yu Qi sensed the sudden spike in malevolent energy as well and narrowed her eyes.
Long Hui calmly drew a sleek, specialised dagger from his side and gripped it firmly.
"Qi Qi, drop the front barrier on my count." Long Hui instructed in a low voice, completely unbothered by the monstrous creature thrashing only a few feet away.
"Are you sure?" Yu Qi asked, checking her remaining spiritual reserves.
"Hmm..." Long Hui nodded confidently.
"Okay..." Yu Qi agreed, shifting her stance to manipulate the array.
"Three."
The creature gathered a massive sphere of pitch-black energy within its chest, preparing to detonate the cage from the inside out.
"Two."
"One. Now!"
Yu Qi snapped her fingers sharply. The front face of the golden cage vanished for a fraction of a second, leaving a precise opening.
At that exact moment, Long Hui disappeared from his position.
He moved with a terrifying speed that completely surpassed the limits of ordinary human vision, leaving behind nothing more than a faint, whistling gust of wind.
Before the demon could unleash its accumulated corruption, Long Hui materialised directly above its twisted torso and drove the dagger downward toward the core of the black mass.
Unfortunately, the creature managed to sense the lethal intent and evaded the strike at the very last moment.
Long Hui immediately adjusted his position mid-air and launched several more attacks in rapid succession, but the demon continued dodging desperately, refusing to give him a clean opening to strike its vitals.
At that moment, Yu Qi suddenly heard Xiaohua’s voice echoing in her mind.
’Master, please let Xiaoliu and me out. We can help with this monster.’ Xiaohua said.
Xiaohua rarely ever made requests like this during a live battle. Most of the time, she was perfectly content staying inside the comfort of the Space. Since she had spoken up now, she probably knew a specific way to deal with this situation.
Without hesitation, Yu Qi released both Xiaohua and Xiaoliu from the Sere.
The two small children suddenly appeared out of thin air, greatly surprising both Lou Liwei and Lou Weizhe, who were watching from the sidelines.
"What? Who are they? How did they suddenly appear here?" Lou Weizhe frowned in complete confusion, rubbing his eyes.
Lou Liwei carefully observed the two children.
Both of them shared certain subtle features that remarkably resembled Long Hui and Yu Qi. If an outsider saw them without knowing the truth of their spiritual origins, they would probably assume the children were actually Long Hui and Yu Qi’s biological children.
The two children paid absolutely no attention to anyone else in the room. Instead, their eyes were firmly locked onto the dark creature currently fighting Long Hui.
"Wow... It is huge. It looks delicious." Xiaohua said excitedly, licking her lips.
"We can grow a lot of new branches if we eat it." Xiaoliu stated seriously, nodding his head.
"Master, tell your man to withdraw. We are going to eat it... I mean, attack that creature." Xiaohua corrected herself quickly, realising her slip of the tongue.
Yu Qi chuckled after hearing Xiaohua’s amusing mistake, but she wisely chose not to comment on it in front of the others.
"Brother Hui, withdraw now!" Yu Qi shouted over the noise of the battle.
Long Hui heard her voice and immediately glanced over toward them. When he saw Xiaohua and Xiaoliu standing there, he instantly understood that Yu Qi must have a definitive plan. Therefore, without hesitation, he retreated gracefully exactly as she instructed.
The moment Long Hui stepped back, Xiaohua and Xiaoliu moved forward with surprising speed. Both of them transformed their small hands into countless thick, twisting branches. The wooden branches surged outward and rapidly wrapped around the creature from every direction, eventually forming a massive, dense sphere of intertwined wood.
Lou Liwei and Lou Weizhe watched the scene with completely stunned expressions. The two children were clearly not ordinary human beings.
"Xiaoliu, let’s eat." Xiaohua said happily from within the green light.
"Hmm..." Xiaoliu responded, intensifying his grip.
Long Hui returned to Yu Qi’s side, his breathing steady.
"Are you alright? You are not injured anywhere, right?" Yu Qi asked immediately, wanting to confirm his physical condition.
"Yes. I am fine." Long Hui nodded, inspecting his blade. Then he glanced toward the giant, vibrating sphere of branches. "What exactly are they trying to do to it?"
"I don’t know. They specifically asked me to let them out. I think they have some unique method of getting rid of the creature permanently." Yu Qi replied. Then she chuckled softly, shaking her head. "Although, honestly, I think this was entirely Xiaohua’s idea. She keeps looking at the demon as though it’s some sort of delicious feast."
"Oh..." Long Hui observed quietly, watching the magical fluctuations. "The demon’s aura is weakening. They really do have a way to deal with it."
