Chapter 850 Felicity’s True Form
Meanwhile, Pamela and her companions stood in stunned silence, unable to comprehend the sudden turn of events.
Felicity's features twisted with a mix of anger and fear, a rare display of vulnerability. "What have you done?" she demanded, her voice trembling.
Ren met her gaze with a calm expression. "I anticipated a scenario like this, considering demons have domains too. Thus, I crafted this artifact as a safeguard. It levels the playing field, after all."
As Ren spoke, the significance of his foresight dawned upon those present, underscoring the wisdom of his actions in the face of unforeseen challenges.
"Nice going, Ren!" Azazel gave a thumbs up.
"I know that we can count on you!" Vivi added.
Desira nodded in approval. "Not bad."
"That's the spirit, Ren. You're a real man," Iraelyn stood to his feet, smirking at Felicity when her spells doesn't work on her anymore. "Rather, if I don't come up with a plan, we'll all be dead here," Ren muttered under his breath.
Luckily, he did, and it saved their lives. The downside was that he didn't have enough Circlet for every god they encountered, so they had to be prudent and choose their battles carefully.
"But don't get complacent. Under this Circlet, all our spells don't work too," Ren announced.
Desira's face contorted. "Huh. Then I'm practically useless here?"
Malifira agreed with a laugh. "Me too."
"This shouldn't be a laughing matter!" Vivi lamented.
"Heh. Good thing that I don't need magic to tear you apart," Iraelyn said, eyes on Felicity. "I just need my claws to do that."
Felicity's rage flickered momentarily as she realized the futility of her assault. Her eyes narrowed in frustration, but Ren's actions had thwarted her plans for vengeance.
With the threat neutralized, Ren turned to address Felicity with a calm but authoritative demeanor. His words was calm as he sought to defuse the tension that hung in the air like a thundercloud ready to burst.
"Goddess," Ren began, his voice resonating with a quiet power, "violence will only beget more violence. Let us seek a resolution to our differences through dialogue and understanding, rather than resorting to conflict."
This was Ren's final attempt to avert any fight. Surely, the goddess could see that without her domain, and magic, this confrontation was to her disadvantage.
But Ren had truly underestimated a goddess's pride.
Felicity raised her chin defiantly and declared, "You are in my territory, and no puny arrays or magic circles are going to keep me from killing you!"
"Kill us, and you won't stand a chance of acquiring Lorelai," Ren reasoned.
"Hey Ren, why are we even talking to her? Let's just kill her and move on."
Ren was beginning to entertain the idea if Felicity wouldn't cooperate.
Felicity didn't back down. "I'd rather die than submit to a bunch of demons."
Iraelyn grinned, showing her canines. "That could be arrange."
"Augh. A brawl against a goddess? Count me out," Desira said.
"I think I will sit this one out too," Malifira said. Since the Circle of Clarity took effect, she was back to her original form.
"Hey, everyone, are you taking this fight seriously?" Elena complained.
Azazel put his hand over the back of his head. "Ganging up on a single goddess doesn't sound fair to me."
"And when did demons talk about being fair?" Elena commented.
"It's better if you guys just stay there, don't interfere. I will take care of this myself," Iraelyn extended her claws and stepped forward, her eyes turning slit and glowing as they never left Felicity.
She was like a predator stalking her prey. "Should we help her?" Evie asked Ren.
Ren was having a headache at the turn of events. "We'll intervene when Iraelyn is at a disadvantage. Right now, I don't think she will appreciate it if we interfere."
"I doubt she will need help. Iraelyn is the strongest here when it comes to physical combat," Vivi said confidently. "That goddess is a goner."
On the side, Pamela was shaking so badly that Ren might have thought she was having an epileptic episode.
"What are you so scared about?" Evie asked her.
"You guys don't get it, but . . . Felicity is strong, you know," Pamela said, her voice trembling and almost indecipherable.
Ren and Evie didn't comment and watched as the battle commenced.
"Heh, Don't die on me. You're a goddess, so I expect that you would last at least ten minutes."
Felicity's face showed no reaction, but then the kind and smiling expression she always wore contorted into a menacing smirk. "You think that I'm powerless without my magic? I don't need it in the first place. I'll show you what power truly is!"
The atmosphere around Felicity began to shift. A crackling energy enveloped her form, swirling like electricity. The air hummed with the build-up of power, vibrating with an eerie resonance that sent shivers down the spines of those present.
The crackling aura surrounding Felicity intensified, its luminous tendrils resembling bolts of lightning dancing around her figure. Each flicker illuminated her silhouette, casting stark shadows against the walls of the chamber. The faint scent of ozone tinged the air, a precursor to the impending display of divine might.
Her eyes, once warm and inviting, now gleamed with an ethereal luminescence. They sparked with raw energy, mirroring the intensity of a storm brewing within her very being. Fleeting glimpses of lightning seemed to flicker within their depths, casting an otherworldly glow that illuminated the chamber with an eerie light.
As the transformation continued, Felicity's staff clattered to the ground with a resounding thud. The once graceful artifact now seemed insignificant in comparison to the magnitude of her burgeoning divine presence.
With each passing moment, Felicity's stature grew, her frame expanding and bulking. The fabric of her robes strained against her newly augmented form, unable to contain the immense power coursing through her veins.
And then, with a final surge of power, Felicity transformed into a towering giantess. Her once diminutive figure now loomed over the battlefield, casting a long shadow that stretched ominously across the chamber floor. Every movement she made seemed to reverberate with the weight of her raw strength, shaking the very foundations of the room.
Ren and the others gulped. "We might be in a little bit trouble here."
