Ren guided his parents into the elevator and crossed the crystal bridge, which connected every building in the area.
“How much do cars cost here, usually?” Troy asked as they stepped into the showroom of LuxGravity0. Despite not knowing a specific range, he at least could tell that one car here cost as much as a house and lot, or maybe even more than that.
When they got inside, a well-built man who introduced himself as Mr. Lee welcomed them. Contrary to the ingratiating smiles from the staff of the previous dealership, Mr. Lee was a formal guy who wore a no-nonsense expression. One could immediately tell that he was all about business and was very professional — the kind who wouldn’t take any customer lightly, no matter the upbringing.
Mr. Lee showed them several cars lined up in the showroom. “What kind of car do you want?
“I don’t know,” Ren replied in all honesty. “We’re looking for a bachelor’s car, a family car, and a small car that’s easy to park.” He didn’t know the hell what he was talking about.
Mr. Lee nodded in understanding. “Understood.”
“They look all so . . . expensive!” Helen exclaimed as she stared at the luxury cars inside LuxGravity0’s showroom.
Troy was also taken aback by all the fancy things on display.
As for Ren? Well . . . nothing. He just wanted to get this done and over with.
All the vehicles around here already made him feel like he was in some sort of a rich man’s heaven. It didn’t help when his mother kept exclaiming about how nice it was to finally have a car or that they should pick the less expensive one.
“Is there any way to negotiate the price?” Troy asked Ren when Mr. Lee finished introducing them to a BMW Sedan.
“If you buy three cars, you can get a huge discount,” said Mr. Lee.
“Let’s check the other cars and make our decisions later.” Ren was about to go to another section when a confident voice called out his name from behind.
“Ren?” It was Isolde’s voice, followed by a laugh. “You’re here to buy a car too?”
Ren turned around to find Isolde smiling widely at him, looking like she would go on a hunting spree. She wore a white hooded jacket and sweatpants, which she paired with sneakers. Her long black hair was tied into a high ponytail.
“Isolde,” Ren was surprised. “Yes. Are you here to buy one too?”
Isolde shrugged and grinned. Though she was berating herself for not wearing a dress. She would’ve dolled up more if she had known that Ren was here.
“Four, actually,” she said with a laugh. “It’s my father’s gift to me for killing the World Boss. I actually wanted a rifle and a bazooka like the one I use in the game, but the construction of my room’s expansion isn’t finished yet, so I don’t have any room to place them.”
“. . . I see . . . rich people sure have it rough,” said Ren with a sarcastic tone.
Isolde then waved her hands at Ren’s parents and greeted them politely, “Hello.”
Ren then introduced everyone to each other. After that, he faced his parents and said, “You guys can go ahead and look for a car that you like. I’ll just be with Isolde for a moment.”
Isolde regretted grabbing the first clothes she saw for her outfit. How could she look like this on a mini-date with Ren? This was her chance! Even though she knew it was in vain.
When Troy and Helen left, Ren immediately asked Isolde, “Can you help me pick a car?”
Isolde blinked when she heard the desperation in Ren’s voice. “Er . . . sure? What do you have in mind?” For more chapters, please visit pan(da-n0vel.c)om
“Something that . . . fits my character?” Ren was clueless when it came to this.
p-a- n-d-a-n-0-v-e-l、(c)om However, Isolde was the opposite. She casually led Ren to a Maserati VXO47. “This car is a top-of-the-line sports car with an engine that can blow away even a Lamborghini. The car’s interior is also as luxurious as any 5-star hotel.”
“Hmm . . . I don’t know . . . the color is . . . too bright?” Ren didn’t want to appear arrogant. He just wanted something classy. Expensive but low-key and sophisticated. Not expensive and flashy.
Isolde then suggested a few more cars as she and Ren checked out different vehicles on display. All the cars were very expensive, but Ren could afford all of them. Unfortunately, they were all too . . . ‘loud’ for his taste.
And then, he saw it.
Bugatti . . . all black.
“Nice choice,” Isolde said.
She continued to explain like a seasoned car dealer, “This is Bugatti X4070, the latest car in the market. Each one of these is made by preorder. The leather seats are all custom, as well as all its interiors. You can choose the color of the car too . . . This one is in all sleek black. It possesses a couple of sweet tech like a 7.0L twin-turbocharged, XVi70 engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. There’s also a reverse butterfly indoors
, and instead of wheels, it levitates on spheres.
“It also has a power pact with double wishbones and an Armstrong shock absorber. It also incorporates an impressive advanced technology automotive crash structure made of nanotech materials. This baby can kick up 300 horsepower and reach a top speed of 200 km/hr. The vehicle is installed with the latest turbocharging technologies and systems to attain additional power and altitude. The ultra-lightweight wheels enable it to land on tarmac, concrete, grass, and even your rooftop.
“What’s more, the vehicle’s interior is designed with advanced safety technologies and features such as pyrotechnic seat belts and dual-stage airbags. The vehicle also incorporates built-in vehicle recovery ballistics parachutes to avoid crash landings.”
Ren didn’t really understand most of that, but he made up his mind. “I want this.”
Isolde snapped her finger, and the staff clamored to her. “My friend said that he wanted this car. When can you send it to him?”
“This car is made by preorder . . . probably within a month.”
“. . .” Isolde’s big eyes stared at the staff, and they all looked away. She then faced Ren with a smile. “It’s all yours within a week.”
Ren wasn’t paying attention to the conversation, and all he thought of was whether Evie would like the car. Come to think of it . . . what was her favorite color? He could at least change the color of the interiors according to his preference.
“Do you think girls will like riding this car?” Ren blurted without thought.
Isolde was caught off guard before realization struck her like a lightning bolt. Ren was buying a car because he was planning to take Evie for a ride. Was that it? Men like to buy car to impress women and it was very handy to have on dates.
Isolde took a deep breath, and her answer was as dead as her face.
“Yeah. I mean . . . I would be happy if you asked me to ride it.”
Ren patted Isolde’s shoulder. “Thanks. I’ll see you around in the game.”
Ren was too excited to buy the car that he didn’t notice anything strange with Isolde’s expression.
Isolde could only scratch her head and kick dust as she took a step back.
Eventually, Ren purchased the Bugatti X4070 and a Mercedes Benz XOZ470,
