Springtime Farming: A Happy Wife At Home

Chapter 2388: Anger

Chapter 2388: Anger

At this point, no matter how heartbroken and angry Madam Tian was, there was nothing she could do.

After the initial shock and fury, she had no choice but to come to terms with the reality. Despite her anger, she had to accept Shao Liulang as her “son-in-law.”

Madam Tian tried to console herself. After all, her daughter had made her choice. Perhaps Shao Liulang would provide the life she desired.

She reassured herself that this was what Tian Shanshan had wanted, and she hoped her daughter would find happiness in it.

Madam Tian spoke with Tian Shanshan, urging her to make the best of her situation and lead a good life.

She then went to speak with Lord Tian. His rage was so intense that he nearly erupted, exclaiming that he did not recognize this daughter anymore.

Madam Tian hurriedly intervened, trying to calm him down with her tears. Although Lord Tian’s fury had cooled slightly, his face remained as cold as frost. He was still seething with anger and vehemently refused to consent to the marriage.

Since his daughter had caused such a scandal, Lord Tian thought it might be better to send her to a convent rather than marry her off to someone like Shao Liulang. He couldn’t fathom why she had to marry into such a disreputable family.

His frustration was compounded by the fact that his daughter, who had once had everything, was now demeaning herself in this way. The Shao Family seemed to be the only option available, which was deeply disheartening.

Madam Tian tried to persuade him, arguing that if they didn’t address the situation, the Tian family’s reputation would suffer. Even if he despised Shao Liulang, he needed to handle the matter for the sake of the family’s honor.

Eventually, Lord Tian was swayed by this argument. He recognized that failing to manage the situation properly would damage the family’s standing.

Despite his reluctance, he knew he had to make arrangements for Shao Liulang, even if he considered him useless. To salvage some semblance of dignity, he would need to support Shao Liulang and perhaps even give him a few credits to prove that the Tian family hadn’t simply settled for an inconsequential son-in-law.

Just the thought of it made Lord Tian feel disgusted, but he had no choice but to proceed.

The wedding between Shao Liulang and Tian Shanshan was soon held. The Tian family provided an extravagant dowry, including a large house, recognizing that Tian Shanshan would not be accustomed to living in Shao Liulang’s modest quarters.

The capital’s nobles were stunned and confused by the unexpected match between the Princess of the Tian Family and the Shao Family. Despite their curiosity, no one dared speak out of turn for fear of incurring the Tian family’s displeasure.

While no one made any public comments, gossip circulated privately.

Shao Liulang was thrilled by the marriage and had hoped to brag about it to Shao Yunduan, but Tian Shanshan forbade him from doing so. Despite his disappointment, Shao Liulang refrained from protesting and reluctantly accepted the situation.

Shao Yunduan had already positioned someone in the capital to keep him informed about the latest developments. The news of Shao Liulang, his cousin, marrying the princess of the Tian Family was significant and quickly reached the south.

When Shao Yunduan and Qiao Xuan heard the news, they were taken aback.

“Tian Shanshan and Shao Liulang? Is this some kind of joke? Tian Shanshan actually has feelings for Shao Liulang?”

Given Tian Shanshan’s known pride, the news was even more astonishing.
