Chapter 1536: Chapter 1536: It’s Impossible to Even Think About It
Why does it hurt so much?
It feels like I’m about to die from the pain.
As Jian Dan immersed herself deeper into the role, the ache in her heart intensified.
Standing on the second floor, Chu Liyuan looked down at Jian Jian’s state, his brows furrowed deeply.
"That brat! Little Jian, don’t worry, Grandpa will deal with him properly and give you justice!" Chu Zhiyuan’s face was particularly dark.
Early this morning, he had seen the message that infuriated him so much he almost had a heart attack. To prevent Mo Qingqin from seeing the message, he quickly deleted it from her phone before rushing to Li Garden to find out what was going on.
Seeing Little Jian like this now—what’s the point of saying anything?
Chu Liyuan, standing on the second floor, felt pain in his heart as he looked at Jian Dan’s state. In the end, he couldn’t bear it anymore. He directly came downstairs, grabbed Jian Dan’s hand, and led her upstairs through the crowd.
"Chu Liyuan, you’re home?
Jin, why did you just tell me he wasn’t here?" Chu Zhiyuan glared angrily at Chu Liyuan.
"Young Master, where were you earlier? I searched everywhere for you and couldn’t find you." Jin was deep in thought, trying to figure out what place she’d missed earlier.
"Oh, I just went to take a walk in the garden," Chu Liyuan made up a random excuse.
"A walk? In this kind of situation, you still have the mood to stroll around?" Mengmeng, with her fiery temper, was the first to confront Chu Liyuan.
"Exactly! After doing something like this, you still have the energy to wander around the garden? Do you even have a heart?" Xia Mengjiao chimed in accusatorily.
"Mr. Chu, explain this quickly! Tell them there is absolutely nothing going on!" Li Jing pleaded urgently with Chu Liyuan.
"Yeah! Old Chu! Hurry up and make things clear!" Sizhe also joined in.
As the others prepared to speak further, Chu Liyuan’s cold gaze swept across them, silencing the room. "Explain what? This is between me and Jian Jian—it’s none of your business."
"Liyuan—" Zi Yan, who had remained silent until now, finally spoke.
Chu Liyuan turned his eyes to Zi Yan. Their gazes locked for several seconds, neither saying another word.
Afterward, Chu Liyuan led Jian Dan upstairs. A faint, almost imperceptible smile curled at the corner of Zi Yan’s lips.
When Chu Liyuan and Jian Dan entered the room, he locked the bedroom door and stared straight into her eyes.
"Uncle, why did you suddenly come downstairs? Didn’t we agree to keep acting?" Jian Dan whispered, afraid someone might overhear.
"The pain was unbearable. I had to come down." Chu Liyuan said, his voice full of tenderness.
"Huh?"
"Jian Jian, what were you thinking just now downstairs?"
"I had to stay in character, so I was imagining what I’d feel if you truly cheated on me." Jian Dan explained.
"So, Jian Jian, you were heartbroken just now?" Chu Liyuan leaned down, placing his hand on her shoulder and gazing at her lowered eyes.
"Hmm." Jian Dan replied honestly, "I know it’s fake, but for some reason, the thought of you truly not loving me anymore made my heart hurt inexplicably. I couldn’t control it." Her voice grew softer and sounded increasingly nasal.
"Jian Jian, I want you to remember this: no matter what happens in the future, you must always know one thing—I love you. In this world, apart from you, I will not love anyone else. Leaving you is something that will never happen—never."
"Of course I know that! Earlier, I was just caught up in the role, so that’s why I..." Jian Dan explained.
"You’re not allowed—even the thought of it is forbidden!"
"If I can’t even think about it, how am I supposed to act out the scene properly?" Jian Dan smirked and replied teasingly.
"I don’t care. It’s forbidden, period!" Chu Liyuan declared domineeringly, leaving no room for argument.
