Chapter 1883: Chapter 1883: Time to Get Some Answers
Just as Chu Liyuan reached the ground floor, he encountered the brothers Sizhe and Shang Simiao who had just hurried over to find him.
"Chu, what’s got you all anxious and flustered?" Shang Simiao noticed Chu Liyuan’s expression and immediately knew something serious had happened.
"Chu, you wouldn’t be this anxious unless something’s happened to Jian again!" Sizhe blurted out, without thinking.
In Sizhe’s mind, the only thing that could make Chu Liyuan so uncontrolled was something concerning Jian Dan.
Shang Simiao nudged him directly, casting a sharp glance at Sizhe.
Only then did Sizhe realize he had indeed spoken out of line, and as he tried to find words to remedy his remark, Chu Liyuan already ignored him, got into the car, and it slowly started, leaving the two behind.
"What are you staring at? Get in the car!" Shang Simiao smacked the dazed Sizhe and said.
Sizhe snapped back to reality and hurriedly rushed to the car; as he got in, without a chance to close the door, Shang Simiao already floored the pedal and began pursuit.
"Brother, you almost killed me, you know?" Sizhe said, still shaken, as he closed the door.
"If you weren’t so slow, would I have caught up with them?" Shang Simiao kept his eyes glued to the black Cayenne ahead, speeding down the road, barely daring to blink for fear the car would disappear from his sight.
Both Shang Simiao and Sizhe were in an extremely tense state, so they had no idea how long they had been driving until they saw Chu Liyuan’s car had stopped, only then realizing they had unknowingly entered the mountains.
Seeing Sizhe and Shang Simiao arrive, Chu Liyuan slightly frowned but didn’t linger long; his gaze quickly shifted to a man in black running out, "What’s the situation?"
"She’s already gone inside; to avoid alarming the enemy, I didn’t follow. I’ve checked, and there’s only one standalone villa here, so unless something unexpected happens, she should be headed there!"
"Alright, let’s go in!" Chu Liyuan said, preparing to move forward.
He was pulled back by Ying, who frowned and said, "Li, you haven’t changed clothes yet?"
Only then did Chu Liyuan remember and returned to put on the clothing.
Like a seer, Ying surprisingly prepared two black outfits, handing them to Shang Simiao and Sizhe.
After all five changed clothes, they headed towards the villa in the mountains, following the man in black.
At this moment, Mu Yi smiles as he watches the surveillance footage showing six red figures slowly moving toward him.
"Gui Li, Gui Li, you’re living more foolishly now, thinking wearing black clothes would make you invisible to me? Don’t you know these days cameras use infrared detection?"
"Should I arrange someone now..." Mei spoke, looking at the people on the monitor.
"No need! Let them come up; it’s about time for a final confrontation between him and me. Originally, I thought about sparing him, but now that he’s shown up at my door, he can’t blame me." Mu Yi’s lips curled into a wicked smile.
As long as Chu Liyuan dies, Jian Jian will forever belong to him alone.
But he didn’t expect their conversation to be heard by Jian Dan outside the door; Jian Dan pressed her hand firmly over her mouth to stop herself from making a sound and quietly returned to her room.
Back in her room, Jian Dan covered her mouth and cried; she never imagined Mu Yi would turn out to be the malicious ghost.
She absolutely wouldn’t let Mu Yi harm Uncle.
