Chapter 2021: Chapter 2018: Stirring Up Trouble
The middle-aged man headed straight for the location of the Agricultural Book.
He grabbed one of them, flipped to a page, and upon seeing the content, a glimmer of delight flashed in his eyes before he pretended to be angry. He threw the book in his hand to the ground and started shouting: "Where is the Shopkeeper? The books you sell have issues with their content! I want to report to the government!"
The waiter, who heard the commotion, hurried over, trained in maintaining a pleasant demeanor: "Dear customer, let’s discuss this calmly. If there’s a problem, our bookstore is willing to resolve it through negotiation."
"Negotiate my ass; this agricultural book you’re selling in your bookstore? It says to space out the fields, dig furrows in between, not only wasting land but causing a reduction in crop yield!"
"My family relies on this bit of land for our livelihood. What nonsense are you guys selling in your bookstore?"
The middle-aged man said this while reaching out, attempting to topple the bookshelf.
The waiter, quick-eyed and swift-handed, immediately hugged him around the waist.
"Dear customer, let’s talk this out. If you cause more trouble, we’ll report you to the government." The waiter, sweating profusely, hastily summoned other waiters to call over the Shopkeeper.
The middle-aged man struggled and kicked toward him.
If it were in the past, the middle-aged man would have succeeded. Back then, the waiters were often skinny, impoverished boys who were young and malnourished, without much strength.
But things are different now.
The waiters in the bookstore are well-fed and rested. They are at the age of sprouting and gaining strength. The middle-aged man’s push didn’t move them, and he nearly lost his balance instead.
The middle-aged man tried a couple more times, his face turning red with effort, but he still couldn’t push them away. Instead, he was held around the waist, almost unable to breathe.
"Help! Murder!" The middle-aged man was determined to cause a scene and began to scream.
Finally, the Shopkeeper arrived and his heart sank at this call.
He made a snap decision. After understanding the situation, he knew the middle-aged man was intentionally causing trouble.
Initially, he thought it was those who didn’t understand the principles of farming and were complaining, but the middle-aged man’s behavior later on was too obvious. If the Shopkeeper couldn’t see the other’s intention, he would really be stupid.
He immediately waved his hand, instructing the waiters to take the middle-aged man to the backyard.
The middle-aged man was not willing and shouted even more fiercely.
"Sir, I won’t beat around the bush with you. If you genuinely have doubts, I can clarify them for you. But you’re clearly here to cause trouble."
"If you continue to cause trouble, then I won’t hold back and will escort you to the government."
The middle-aged man’s eyes flickered: "Even if you take me to the government, I’ll tell the truth. The books in your store are just nonsense written to scam people."
Although there weren’t many customers in the bookstore in the morning,
at this moment, the Shopkeeper heard a commotion outside.
His heart sank, and he hurriedly went out.
Sure enough, as expected, he found two other customers noisily claiming the book’s content was wrong.
Several scholars were reading in the bookstore.
Upon hearing this, they gathered over, full of justice: "Shopkeeper, since they say there’s a problem with the content of the books, I think it’s best to explain it clearly."
"Yes, yes, we are also curious whether what’s written in the agricultural book is actually correct or if it’s just nonsense."
The Shopkeeper looked at the situation, knowing that these people were pushing hard.
