At the northern tip of the Desolate Celestial Fraternity, in the Great Forsaken Basin where the desolate mists could be seen sucking into a gigantic maelstrom that was a hundred miles wide below.
A veiled maiden in brilliant blue had slowly appeared from the edge and said quietly to the veiled maiden in white who was quietly walking behind her. “Songjin, so this is where the real base of the Evil Cultivation Palace is?”
The veiled maiden in white was indeed Zhao Songjin as she returned a light nod, “Highly probable. But there is nothing here at all.”
The veiled maiden in brilliant blue was actually Jiajia, known as Feifei to her Sister Shui Xisi and more commonly known as Saintess Fang Zhenfei. She also has another secret alias and that is the Divine Palace Master of the Hundred Flower Divine Palace.
“This place has a strong desolate presence, especially the maelstrom that is in the middle. In fact, I’ve never seen or heard anything like this before until you’ve brought me here.”
Zhao Songjin smiled bitterly. “This is actually the first time that I am here as well.”
Jiajia looked intently into the desolate maelstrom that was spinning below before she inhaled slowly. “It is quite impossible for the Evil Cultivation Palace to have a base in there. This place is full of desolate profound beasts and they can’t cultivate in this place unless…”
“Unless they can cultivate like the desolate beasts which mean that they may not be celestials after all, am I right? Are they immortal cultivators?” Zhao Songjin interrupted quietly.
“And who exactly are you? What is your vendetta with them?”
Jiajia refused to comment as she continued to stare intently at the whirling desolate maelstrom.
“You don’t trust me? I can fully understand.” Zhao Songjin sighed softly. “We are but temporary allies.”
Jiajia said slowly. “You’re right. They’re desolate immortals. As for who I am, it may be pointless for me to hide anymore. I’m the Divine Palace Mistress of the Hundred Flower Divine Palace.”𝗇𝑂𝚟𝗲𝐥𝑵𝓮xt.𝑐𝑂𝓂
Zhao Songjin was so startled that she had taken a step backward. “You are the head of the three most mysterious palaces in the fraternity. This is…really a surprise. Why then, are you sharing this with me?”
Jiajia turned to her with a wry smile. “Aren’t you one of us now? Why, are you thinking of backing off from our newly formed syndicate?”
Zhao Songjin inhaled slowly before she lit a smile. “This is my honor to follow the renowned Divine Palace Master of the Hundred Flowers Divine Palace.”
Then she asked curiously. “But are you certain that they are immortal cultivators? In all my years in the Evil Cultivation Palace, I have never known that there are immortal cultivators in there. Are you saying that the Evil Cultivation Master is an immortal cultivator? But the Evil Cultivation Palace had just suffered a crushing defeated recently and must be terribly weak.”
Jiajia replied slowly. “The Evil Cultivation Master may not be an immortal cultivator. Even if he is one, he is the least concern because there is someone extremely powerful that is aiding the Evil Cultivation Palace.”
Zhao Songjin smiled. “I’ve heard that the immortal cultivators can’t freely roam the Celestial Realm because they’re restricted in their profound strength here. They may be able to win our greatest saint one to one but against so many saints, they are helpless as well. Shall we go back to inform the rest of our sisters and rally the strength of our sects to finish the Evil Cultivation Palace once and for all?”
She added with a tease. “Surely the combat strength of the Hundred Flower Divine Palace alone will be sufficient. The rest of us are just extras.”
Jiajia averted her eyes to say melancholy. “A lone immortal cultivator had appeared from nowhere a few months ago and had lay waste to my Hundred Flower Divine Palace.”
Zhao Songjin was startled. “A lone immortal cultivator? This is impossible, am I right?”
“That is why I’ve forbid the rest of them to come with us to this place because it may be too dangerous for the rest of them.” Jiajia slowly said.
Zhao Songjin muttered with disbelief. “I don’t understand. If the Evil Cultivation Palace is so strong, why are they hiding their strength? Why did they allow themselves to be defeated so utterly that everyone has thought that it will probably take the Evil Cultivation Palace years to recover? And what is the purpose in this?”
All of a sudden Jiajia had pulled Zhao Songjin behind her as she displayed her profound animus to conceal the two of them as they bended into the surrounding mountains; it was because a lone cultivator had suddenly levitated from out of the whirling maelstrom and he was looking intently at the surroundings.
Zhao Songjin was stunned; she had never seen a cultivator displaying true flight before and this cultivator seemed to be able to lift himself up with just his profound animus alone. Surely he must be an immortal cultivator!
She could feel great dread upon her and she had broken into cold sweat. She knew instinctively that this cultivator would be able to kill her in a single instant.
Never had she felt such intense fear before!
The profound aura of this cultivator was like the blazing sun!
This lone cultivator donned a green and white full plate armor at what appeared to be an armor that was shaped like a five claw dragon.
After scanning around for a while, he vanished into the whirling maelstrom again.
Zhao Songjin had turned completely ashen and when she had turned to Jiajia to heave a soft sigh of relief, she was startled that Jiajia was trembling uncontrollably.
“Saintess Zhenfei, are you alright?” Zhao Songjin stammered.
Jiajia was staring into the maelstrom with bleary eyes. “He is the one…that had killed my Xiao Ruan. I can sense Xiao Ruan’s death animus that is upon him…”
Zhao Songjin had immediately regretted suggesting that they should storm into the maelstrom earlier after witnessing the profound aura of this unknown cultivator that had suddenly appeared.
In fact the appearance of this unknown cultivator had caused her to wet herself because she was so sure that he would be able to locate her immediately.
But somehow Jiajia had shielded them from being discovered.
