Chapter 1087: Feng Jue Searches the Katie family's Manor

Chapter 1087: Feng Jue Searches the Katie family’s Manor

Editor: Henyee Translations

As the Bass and Katie families clashed fiercely, Feng Jue led Lord’s men straight to the Katie family manor.

Inside the manor, Devon frowned as he received the news. “Lord? Our Katie family has never done business with them. Why are they coming after us?”

The manor’s butler looked uneasy. “They claim there’s a traitor from Lord hiding in our manor, and they want to conduct a search.”

Devon was livid. “Lord’s pushing it too far! Do they really think they can search my family’s manor on a whim? I want to see which hall master dares be this arrogant!”

The butler hesitated. “It’s not a hall master. It sounds like it’s Lord’s leader himself.”

Devon’s expression shifted.

If it were just one of Lord’s hall masters, Devon wouldn’t hesitate to teach him a lesson for even suggesting such an insult. But if the request came from Lord’s leader, things wouldn’t be that simple.

“Why is Lord getting involved now, of all times?” he muttered.

Dealing with the Bass family was already enough of a headache—now, Lord was in the mix.

Just then, Tally, who had been quietly sewing gems onto a doll by the swing, suddenly brightened. “Lord’s mysterious new Chief, the one who never shows his face? How interesting. Brother, I’ll join you. I want to meet the man who killed Dulong.”

Tally hugged her doll and ran ahead of Devon.

At the entrance of the manor, the Katie family guards faced off against the men brought by Lord, both sides ready for a confrontation.

Among the group of Westerners stood a young man with an Oriental appearance who immediately caught the eye.

He appeared to be around 20 years old, dressed in a black coat as he stood in the snow. His fair, striking features exuded nobility and charm. Snow seemed to dust his eyebrows, giving him a slightly cold, yet fierce expression.

Tally was surprised to see that Lord’s people were led by this young man. “A Chinese? You’re the new Chief of Lord who killed Dulong? I can’t believe the leader of Lord is actually an Easterner! You don’t look very old. What’s your name?”

When Feng Jue ignored her, Tally frowned in displeasure, but a sweet smile soon returned to her face as she approached him. “Isn’t there a saying in your country that it’s a pleasure to have friends coming from afar? Lord leader from the east, I have a gift for you.”

She handed him the doll she was holding.

The members of Lord’s group looked horrified, as if they were facing a monstrous rag doll with a gaping, bloody mouth.

The doll was particularly eerie, with its ruby eyes appearing to bleed, dark red liquid flowing down its cheeks.

Just as it seemed about to engulf them, a sudden cold fragrance wafted through the air, dispelling the unsettling illusion.

Lord and the others stared at the young man in black standing across from Tally, surprised to see he was holding a perfume bottle. The crisp, invigorating scent emanating from him had cleared their minds and pulled them back to reality.

Everyone felt a renewed sense of reverence.

They had unwittingly fallen into Tally’s trap moments ago. Unexpectedly, their Chief possessed something that could instantly break them free from hypnosis.

Feng Jue was an SS-grade hypnotist, while Tally was classified as S-grade. Her hypnosis couldn’t ensnare him.

However, the people he brought might not be strong enough to resist her influence. When he saw them succumb to the hypnotic illusion, Feng Jue quickly retrieved the perfume that Gu Yang had made for him.

Tally had initially aimed to teach Lord a lesson and provoke them into turning against each other, but she hadn’t anticipated their swift awakening from her hypnosis.

As the familiar scent of the perfume reached her, Tally’s expression shifted. She recalled how, when she plotted against her brother, Falling Rice had used a similar perfume to help the siblings escape her hypnotic grasp.

Tally frowned. “Why do you have that perfume too? What’s your connection with Falling Rice?”
