Chapter 823: Chapter 817: Saving People_1
After the three adults and two children left home, they headed for the places they wanted to go. The Forbidden City was their first stop, and the place Qin Xue had wanted to visit the most. She hadn’t had a chance to go there in her previous lifetime, so she made it a point to visit it in this life. She planned to visit every famous site in the Imperial Capital to make up for the regret of not being able to travel in her past life.
“Chu Molin, did you come to these places when you were young?” Qin Xue looked around at the crowded space. It was not a peak season now, yet it was full of people. She thought only the people from the future would be keen to travel and sightsee, but it seemed many others shared this enthusiasm, no matter when they lived. Their intentions were all similar – to enjoy the experience.
“I came, but I didn’t really explore or appreciate it.” Chu Molin answered. His mother brought him here when he was young, but he was too young to understand why they were there. His mother walked them through the place without lingering, and they left after a short while. So, for Chu Molin, it was more of passing through than touring.
“Oh, what a pity! I heard this was where the emperors of ancient times lived. I really want to go in; do you think we can?” Qin Xue was genuinely interested in seeing what the Forbidden City looked like inside.
“Why not? If you want to go in, I’ll just buy tickets.” Chu Molin thought Qin Xue wanted something complicated when she was just curious about where the emperors lived. This was easy – they just needed to buy tickets.
“Really? Then you should quickly go buy the tickets.” Qin Xue said excitedly.
“Alright, you guys wait here. I’ll go get the tickets. Don’t go running off or we might not be able to find each other later.” Chu Molin looked around at the crowd, genuinely concerned they might get separated.
“Don’t worry; we’re not kids.” Qin Xue rolled her eyes. She felt like he was treating her like a child.
“Good girl.” Chu Molin responded, patting her on the head to praise her.

Chu Molin chuckled but didn’t say anything else, heading towards the ticket booth instead. There were many people there too. Even though he wasn’t in uniform, he still stood out in the crowd.
With his unique presence, Chu Molin quickly became the center of attention. However, the stares didn’t affect him. He stood in line, patiently waiting for his turn to buy tickets when a commotion erupted in the crowd.
“Ah, someone’s dead!” Someone cried out, causing the crowd to make way.
Upon hearing the shout, Chu Molin swiftly ran towards the commotion. When he got there, he saw a man lying on the ground, covered in blood. He quickly knelt down next to the injured man and pressed his finger on the man’s carotid artery, trying to feel his pulse.
He looked up to scan the crowd for any signs of the attacker but all he saw were faces of shock and fear.
“You, call the police. You, get someone to call the hospital.” Chu Molin pointed at two people nearby, instructing them what to do.
“Alright, sure.” The two chose to follow his orders without questioning who he was.
“Xue’er, hurry and help.” After allocating tasks, Chu Molin turned back to the crowd to find Qin Xue. Just as he made it through the crowd, he saw his wife and Xue Ling protecting the two children. He rushed up to them and called for Qin Xue.
