Chapter 828: Chapter 822: Follow Along _1

“That’s acceptable.” The man agreed readily to Qin Xue’s request, figuring that having two small children around would only be a hindrance.

“Alright then. Sister, take the children back home. I’ll accompany them for a while. Don’t worry. I will return shortly.” Qin Xue said to Xue Ling, implying for her to relay this information to Chu Molin so he wouldn’t worry.

“Okay, but you must return quickly, sister. I won’t be able to handle these two children alone for long.” Xue Ling comprehended Qin Xue’s intentions after hearing her words.

“Mmhmm, I will. Go ahead, I’ll watch you leave.” Qin Xue wanted to ensure that no one would follow them. Once Xue Ling and the children disappeared from her sight, she would feel at ease. She had faith in Xue Ling’s abilities.

“Alright, sister, rest assured. I’ll properly take care of the children until you’re back.” Xue Ling said, before walking away with the children.

“We should get moving too,” announced Qin Xue, having lost sight of Xue Ling and the kids, and now turning her attention towards the others.

“You’re courageous.” The man complimented.

“Why should I fear when I have all of you by my side?” responded Qin Xue with a smirk.

“Aren’t you an optimist.” The leading man laughed, acknowledging that such women were a rarity.

“I’d say it’s fair enough. At this point, what other choice do I have? Or would you prefer I don’t come with you?” Qin Xue inquired.

“That’s certainly not happening,” the man responded immediately.

“Precisely my point! It’s foolish to resist the inevitable. Can you tell me why you wanted to kill that man?” Asked Qin Xue.

“We never intended to kill him. Others wanted him dead, and it just so happened that his death would be advantageous to us. We merely planned to capture him. However, we encountered you trying to save him. That’s why we’re requesting you come with us. You have nothing to worry about. Our boss is reasonable. We’re only interested in your particular abilities and mean you no harm,” explained the leading man.

They had been ordered to capture a traitor. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when they stumbled upon this incident. Nonetheless, this worked in their favor as they could still bring the traitor back alive. As for this woman and her exceptional abilities, they would be kicking themselves if they let her slip through their fingers.

Thus, he made the executive decision to bring her along. Although aware of the potential threat posed by the man accompanying her, they knew they weren’t likely to stay around for long. Once the matter of the traitor was settled, they would return to their headquarters, so they weren’t overly concerned about him doing anything to them.

“So, you’re the good guys after all?” Qin Xue was taken aback by the man’s candidness.

“Not exactly virtuous, but we indeed haven’t committed any crimes here.” The man was insinuating that they weren’t so depraved as to bully a single woman.

“Ha, this is the first time I’ve heard a villain denying their wickedness.” Qin Xue laughed, finding the man’s statement amusing yet seemingly genuine.

“Don’t you already have an answer to whether we are villains? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have chosen to accompany us, would you?” The man wasn’t bothered by Qin Xue’s remark. Instead, he continued the conversation with her.

“You’re right. If you had malicious intent, you’d already be dead.” Qin Xue replied, laughing.

Did they really think she spent all her time in the divine space just producing hemostatics and healing potions? If so, wouldn’t all the medical books she had read have gone to waste?

“You…” The man was taken aback by the sudden change in Qin Xue’s demeanor, feeling a bit apprehensive. He hadn’t crossed some formidable character, had he?
