Chapter 2714: Chapter 2723: Not Sure What Set Her Off
"I told you to get lost!" Wendy Hanson pushed aside the saleswoman who was trying hard to dissuade her.
The saleswoman was caught off guard and stumbled backward, her high heel twisted, causing her to fall heavily to the ground.
A loud smack echoed, making anyone who heard it feel the pain.
Two salespeople who were friendly with her hurried to help her up, asking worriedly, "Violet, are you okay? Do you need to go to the hospital?"
The saleswoman, with a complexion white from the pain in her ankle, sat down on the sofa and shook her head. "I’m fine, I don’t need to. I just need a bit of rest."
Wendy Hanson was momentarily taken aback by realizing she had knocked someone down, but she soon ignored the injured saleswoman. With a resentful gaze at Enna Clark, she angrily retorted, "Who’s friends with her? We’re not friends! She’s nothing but a thief who steals from others!"
Enna Clark’s tolerance for her had reached its limit. Unwilling to argue, she directly took out her phone, called the Housekeeper, and informed him of her current situation, asking him to notify Mr. Hanson. After finishing, Enna Clark calmly put away her phone and looked at Wendy Hanson, saying, "Ms. Hanson, I’ve already informed Mr. Hanson, and I believe someone will come to take you soon. Whether I’m a thief and whether I’ve stolen anything, you should know better than me. I know you want to vent at me, but I’m sorry, I have no obligation to accompany you."
Wendy Hanson’s behavior today was clearly a result of being provoked, which prompted her to find Enna through Emily Goldsmith and say these things.
She must have known how ridiculous her demand was; there’s no way Enna would agree. But she still said it, merely to create an opportunity to vent her anger after being refused.
However, why would Enna accompany her in venting? She was under no obligation to indulge the First Young Lady’s whims.
Sure enough, the person who had previously been hysterical stopped as if struck by acupuncture upon hearing Mr. Hanson’s name, revealing a brief look of fear, though anger still dominated her nerves. She sneered coldly at Enna, deliberately assuming an indifferent posture, "What else can you do other than snitch to elders? You must be the same with Grandpa Lawrence, always trying to please him by badmouthing others. I’ve always wondered why Sister Skye was kicked out of the Lawrence Family. Now it seems you had a big part in it. Sister Skye must have realized the kind of person you are, thinking you’re unworthy to be with Brother Baron. So you maliciously sowed discord with Grandpa Lawrence, causing him to expel Sister Skye from the Lawrence Family.
People like you, born to be commoners, thrive on petty actions! You must have been envious of Sister Skye for a long time now. Because she’s prettier, more capable, a true rich young lady. You finally returned to the Phoenix nest but still felt inferior because of your humble origins. When confronted with a true favored child, you couldn’t control your jealousy and instigated behind the scenes with Grandpa Lawrence."
You’re just flaunting your ability to give birth, having delivered Grandpa Lawrence’s highly anticipated grandson, acting so arrogant. Otherwise, just by yourself, Grandpa Lawrence wouldn’t have ever let you into the Lawrence Family’s door! Even if you’re now a rich young lady from Habsden, so what? You can’t change your origins; you are still an illegitimate daughter!"
She used every venomous word she could, each statement targeting Enna Clark’s most glaring weaknesses, with the intent of crushing Enna Clark beyond endurance.
