Chapter 2794: Chapter 2803: I Even Prepared Two Wedding Rings
"By the way, I’ve got something for you. I didn’t have time to prepare it last night."
"What is it?"
Olivia Lewis looked at him, puzzled.
Adam Sinclair’s thin lips curved slightly, and his Peach Blossom Eyes danced with amusement. "Give me your hand."
"What?" Olivia, still confused, extended her hand anyway.
"Not this hand, the other one."
Olivia was really puzzled by him now. She switched to her other hand and extended her left hand. Suddenly, a cool little ring slid down her middle finger, landing coolly at the bottom.
Adam moved his hand away, and she looked down to see an enormous pink heart-shaped diamond ring. "This is..."
Whoa!!!
This rock has to be worth millions at least.
A thief wouldn’t even bother trying because it’s so big, most people would think it’s just a decoration.
"A wedding ring."
Adam pulled out another ring box, opened it, and inside was another unique, understated platinum ring. "I prepared two, one for you to wear at the wedding, and one for everyday wear."
Olivia Lewis moved her mouth slightly, unsure of what to say, "...Investor."
"Hmm?"
"I was joking with you this morning. The $1.95 spicy hot pot is fine. Gifts worth over 1.5 million really test my self-control. I’m afraid my heart can’t handle it."
Adam held her hand, preventing her from taking the ring off, and said, "I won’t give you very expensive gifts usually, but a wedding ring is different. It’s a special gift. You only give it once in a lifetime."
Once in a lifetime...
Wow!
So romantic!
Olivia awkwardly glanced at the overly large diamond ring, took a step back, "This one is too big. Can I switch to the other one?"
"Sure." Adam released her hand and personally helped her switch to the relatively understated platinum ring.
Olivia then noticed a ring of the same design on his hand; they must be a pair.
A wedding ring...
She felt a bit floaty and unreal.
But the cool touch of the ring on her middle finger reminded her that this was all real, that they were really married.
"Alright, let’s go." Adam finished putting on her ring, kissed the back of her hand, and fastened the seatbelt before stepping on the gas, saying, "Mom’s waiting for us at the restaurant."
Olivia was abruptly pulled out of the ambiguous atmosphere surrounding the wedding ring, and the image of Sydney Sullivan flashed in her mind, causing her to feel overwhelmed.
Last night, she had impulsively registered with this man, completely forgetting about his mom.
It’s one thing that she’s an orphan, but Adam is different. Adam has a family, parents. They went and got married all of a sudden, and his parents weren’t even informed. If they find out... Olivia could hardly imagine how complicated things would get.
The person driving seemed to notice her unease, gently reassuring her, "Don’t worry, I’ve already told Mom about our marriage. She didn’t say much."
Yeah right! You’ve got the marriage certificate already. Even if your mom’s upset, she’s not going to do anything to you. If she’s mad, it’s not going to be at you, but at me.
Olivia glanced at him, not relaxing her shoulders at all. She remained tense all the way to the upscale restaurant. She was led into the restaurant by Adam, tense, to a window seat.
"Hi, Mom." Adam greeted the elegant woman in the booth.
Sydney Sullivan turned her head, looked at them without any special expression, "Sit down."
