Chapter 2150: Chapter 2152: Jiang Nuan vs. Fu Yi
"Nuannuan, don’t scare me!"
"Nuannuan, wake up."
"Nuannuan, open your eyes and look at me. Don’t sleep, you can’t sleep. Open your eyes, and I’ll agree to anything you say."
The Filipina maid saw him lose his composure for the first time, her mouth slightly agape, observed Jiang Nuan’s condition, and softly reminded, "Sir, please don’t panic, first check if Miss Susan has hit her forehead. If not, her face looks very red, see if she has a fever."
Although Fu Yi did not look at her after hearing this, he promptly checked Jiang Nuan’s forehead and body as she suggested. After confirming there were no injuries, he placed his hand on her forehead.
The skin felt scorching hot, the temperature was so high that it was obvious she had a fever even without a thermometer.
It must have been because she went out last night in her nightgown and spent half the night in the wind. It was cold outside, and she kept crying, which must have led to her catching a cold.
That meant she had been sick since she got up in the morning, but she insisted on going to work despite it, dragging it out until now!
Fu Yi’s head throbbed with anger, but he cared more about Jiang Nuan’s health. He carefully placed her in the back seat and asked the Filipina maid, "Which hospital is the nearest around here?"
The Filipina maid immediately answered, "St. Suo Private Hospital."
"Where is it?"
Mahali is a small city, with many roads and a confusing layout. She couldn’t describe the exact location, so she simply pulled open the car door and said, "I’ll go with you and point the way while we drive."
She quite liked Miss Susan; as she said, Susan had a good personality and was kind. Yesterday, as per the sir’s instructions, she lied about having company at home and asked Miss Susan to help cook. Miss Susan didn’t refuse.
Truth be told, even if they were neighbors, Miss Susan and she were strangers, not particularly close, and she was just a maid in somebody else’s home, she could have easily refused to help, but Miss Susan still did.
Now that Miss Susan is sick, she couldn’t possibly ignore it, both emotionally and logically.
But, why does the sir call Miss Susan Nuannuan?
Isn’t Nuannuan the name of the corgi the sir keeps at home?
"If I just tell you how to get there, it will take quite a long time. It’s faster if I come along to guide you."
Fu Yi glanced at her, pressed his thin lips together, opened the car door, and said calmly, "Get in!"
The Filipina maid didn’t dare delay and quickly got into the car.
The Mercedes sped straight towards the nearest St. Suo Private Hospital.
Two hours later, after receiving an injection and medicine, Jiang Nuan was carried into the bedroom on the second floor.
The decor of this two-story building had been entirely changed to his liking. Although it couldn’t be decorated exactly like in the Capital City in time, at least it wasn’t as bad as when he first saw it.
He carefully laid her on the soft, large bed and covered her with a quilt.
The girl’s porcelain-white skin showed a layer of sickly redness, her eyes tightly closed, nose upturned, lips a pale white, lying quietly on the bed, just like a sick doll.
When she’s awake, she always has a guarded demeanor in front of him, a look that pushes people away. But now, soft and lying in his bed, Fu Yi inexplicably would rather she woke up, scowled at him, and scolded him, than see her frail like this.
"Nuannuan..."
His voice was very light, drifting in the room.
"What am I going to do with you?"
His hand almost touched her forehead, but stopped in mid-air.
