Naming Technique of the Night

Chapter 1439: 785: The Cockroach Calamity (Part 2)

Chapter 1439: Chapter 785: The Cockroach Calamity (Part 2)

The people exchanged glances; in fact, Qing Chen didn’t explicitly say what exactly he knew, and that was the most terrifying part.

You self-corrected nine items, but still missed one, and that one just happened to be what Qing Chen had a grasp of, which made the situation potentially significant or trivial.

If Qing Chen doesn’t want to make a move against you, you’re fine. But if he does, all military power and finances would be centralized under him – who could possibly resist?

The big shots sighed in silence, initially wishing for Qing Zhun to step down, but who could have expected someone even more ruthless than Qing Zhun to take his place…

However, at that moment, everyone suddenly realized that all had received new assignments, except for Qing Shi’s father, Qing Chang, who remained without a position.

Some people began to gloat, wondering whether Qing Chang, clearly one of the major contributors to this purging operation, had been heartlessly abandoned.

They quietly glanced over, only to find Qing Chang sitting motionlessly like an ancient Buddha, his expression unchanged.

Qing Chen said, “Qing’s Family will establish an Inspector tour group, with Qing Chang as the head of the group. Those opposed, raise your hands.”

The people were taken aback, as Qing Chang suddenly transformed into an imperial envoy, wielding considerable authority!

What was going on? Did the Family Head trust Qing Chang to such an extent now!? Could there be hidden reasons?

Qing Chen did not offer further explanation: “Meeting adjourned.”

He was the first to leave the conference room, and quite a few big shots suddenly slumped back in their chairs, exhaling a long breath – it was finally over.

They felt these six hours today were harder to endure than six years.

Judging by Qing Chen’s familiarity with the entire group, any plans to fool the clan through deception seem infeasible in the future.

Qing Kun stood up and left with Qing Yi, muttering quietly, “I was still wondering if you’d ever be able to wrestle with him in the future, but now it seems you better play it safe; you simply cannot take on this guy.”

Qing Yi chuckled helplessly, “I never intended to fight him; can you stop adding drama to everything, please?”

Night fell.

Qing Chen stood in front of the small cabin on the mountainside, speaking patiently, “I’ve done what I needed to. Now, please work well for Qing’s Family. Re-employed retired workers contributing their residual skills is a good thing. After your health recovers, don’t stay indoors all the time; get out and walk around more often.”

The old man inside held his breath for a long time before saying, “Get lost.”

“My plan this time is rather dangerous, and I’m not sure when I can return,” Qing Chen suddenly became serious.

The old man asked, “Do you have to go?”

“Yes,” Qing Chen nodded, “we are bound to have a conflict with the Forbidden Sea Coast, and the problem now boils down to three points.”

“The first point is, we don’t understand them, but they use Deer Island and Jindai to understand us. This information disparity puts us at a disadvantage in battle. We don’t even know what extent of power they can deploy. Up until now, we haven’t even figured out their precise social system, though it seems like slavery, yet unconfirmed. The Kingdom and Future Organization tightly control the channels of public opinion, making it hard to investigate even in the Outer World.”

“The second point is, the Federation is fragmented, while they seem to remain exceptionally united. Be it the power of transcendents or military force, they hold a clear advantage. If I can buy some time for the Parents’ Meeting and Knight Organization to develop, maybe there’s still a chance to turn the tables.”

“The third point is, they have the Key of Gate in their hands, and I must find a way to personally cut off this legacy. I am determined to get the Black Eye of Truth they possess.”

The old man pondered for a moment, “I’ll send Qing Ye, Qing Qu, and Qing Ji with you.”

Qing Chen shook his head, “They don’t speak the language, they’ll just become targets there. I have my own plans, just take care of yourself.”

This elderly man was an ordinary person, and could not part with Qing Ji, Qing Qu had to oversee military industry, and Qing Ye was responsible for the Shadow Troop. The key issue is… the language barrier, which can easily expose them.

Once Qing Chen reached the other side, he could easily hide like water merging into the sea, but Qing Ye and Qing Qu could not.

The combat prowess of Qing Ye and Qing Qu was indeed formidable, but the problem was that the Forbidden Sea Coast certainly had demigods, and no matter how strong an A-Class, there was still a limit; they couldn’t face them head-on.

“Since it’s decided, off you go then,” the old man said calmly, “Leaving without even leaving a seed, I wonder what you’re so busy with.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll come back alive,” Qing Chen assured solemnly.

Saying this, he turned to Qing Ji, “Please take me to City 20.”

Qing Ji was puzzled, “Why are you going to City 20 at this time?”

Qing Chen explained, “The Kingdom’s Aerial Fortress arrived in City 20 for repairs three days ago. I plan to take this Aerial Fortress to the Forbidden Sea Coast. This is also my way to infiltrate their power structure.”

Qing Ji expressed confusion, “It’s settled in the north, how could it suddenly head back to the West Coast?”

“I’ll find a way,” Qing Chen replied.

The Door of Shadow opened, and Qing Chen stepped inside without hesitation.

Ke Rouli watched from a distance, wanting to say something, but Qing Chen did not give her the chance.

After the Shadow Troop attack, City 20 implemented a complete curfew after 10 PM; if any suspicious individuals appear on the streets, unless they are of high caste or members of the Kingdom and Future Organization, they are immediately executed on the spot.

It was currently 8 PM, and many pedestrians had already started heading home early.

Due to the Kingdom’s Aerial Fortress docking in City 20, thousands of crew members of the Aerial Fortress were on rotation for rest. In recent days, incidents of assault proliferated in City 20, with most perpetrators being white. Nonetheless, when the PCE Security Committee received reports, they turned a blind eye.

Jindai didn’t care, nor dared to manage.

The residents of City 20 were furious but powerless.

Many were discussing quietly how to contact the Parents’ Meeting in hopes of letting them finish off the whites as well.

However, since the financial conglomerates hunted them, the Parents’ Meeting had gone silent, and there was no way to get in touch.

At that time, everyone’s minds turned to how good the Parents’ Meeting had been.

At this moment, Xiao San sat at a ramen stall in Fengqing Street, smiling and saying to the owner, “A bowl of pork bone broth ramen, and two more servings of oden.”

While wiping disposable chopsticks, his eyes remained fixed on a white man.

The man was tall and burly, covered in odd tattoos, with “niu bi” – “awesome” in Chinese characters inked on his left arm.

The ramen stall owner, behind the food cart, cooking ramen, looked on coldly, muttering under his breath, “All these good girls ruined, if the Parents’ Meeting were still here, they’d kill them all! Pfft!”

Xiao San asked, “Uncle, aren’t you afraid of causing trouble?”

The owner muttered, “Afraid of what, anyway they can’t understand what we’re saying.”

Just then, Xiao San’s eyes lit up, as he watched a familiar figure and signaled discreetly towards the bathhouse the white man just entered.

The young man understood, lifted the curtain, and went inside.

A madam, her face powdered white, greeted him, her kimono looking particularly cumbersome, saying, “Customer, what would you like?”

The young man shook his head, “I’m not here for business, I’m here to find someone.”

“Hmm?” The madam was taken aback, “Who are you looking for? This is not a place for that, please leave.”

But just as she spoke, countless cockroaches suddenly crawled out from the cracks in the walls of the bathhouse, newly bred by Xiao San, small cockroaches, capable of infesting everywhere.

Seeing the swarm of cockroaches, the madam was petrified, allowing Qing Chen the opportunity to quickly proceed inside.

Simultaneously, across the city’s sewers, countless cockroaches began to emerge.

A large golden cockroach pushed open a manhole cover and emerged, rubbing against Xiao San, who then poured a bowl of oden before it, laughing as he said, “Eat up; it will be a busy night for you.”

Then, turning back to the owner, Xiao San said, “Don’t worry, these cockroaches won’t harm you. Besides, the Parents’ Meeting was never really gone.”

The owner stood stunned, then saw Xiao San put on a duckbill cap, blending into the gradually chaotic crowd.
