Chapter 1312: 322: I’ve overstepped my bounds

"Alright," Zhao Shuyue nodded.

After a simple farewell, the three boarded the plane.

Watching the figures disappear at the boarding gate, Chu Xiangyi handed the safety talisman Ni Yang had given her to Elder Du, "Sir, this was given by Yangyang."

Elder Du took the talisman, clutching it in his palm, his face unreadable.

"Will you take those pills?" Chu Xiangyi asked.

Elder Du turned slightly, "That’s not something you should concern yourself with."

Chu Xiangyi replied, "I overstepped."

She had already anticipated the outcome.

This man, either he never loves lightly, or once he does, it’s carved into his very bones.

Chu Xiangyi gazed at Elder Du’s back and sighed softly.

The plane ride was swift.

In just two hours, they arrived in Beijing.

Ni Yang and Mo Qishen took Zhao Shuyue to a western restaurant for a meal.

It was Zhao Shuyue’s first time stepping into a Western-style restaurant; everything piqued her curiosity.

"That person looks so much like Adelle’s grandparents! Do foreigners all look the same?"

Ni Yang chuckled and replied, "Blonde hair and blue eyes are typical features of Westerners, and their facial features are often very pronounced."

After dinner, Ni Yang and Mo Qishen took Zhao Shuyue to watch a movie, and then they returned to Jinghua Village.

Though Zhao Shuyue was away from home for three days, both Dapang and Xiaopang were taken care of so well that they hadn’t lost a bit of weight.

Back home, Zhao Shuyue realized she hadn’t felt this energized in decades; her whole body brimmed with vitality. She drew several buckets of water from the well and scrubbed the entire house inside and out.

The next day, she went to the supply and marketing co-op to buy some oil, salt, sauce, and vinegar, and then took Dapang and Xiaopang to visit every household in Jinghua Village.

Everyone greeted her cheerily, "Auntie, how was Shanghai? It’s been so many years—has Shanghai changed much?"

Zhao Shuyue replied, "It’s changed a lot. If I didn’t ask anyone, I probably wouldn’t even find my way home."

"Auntie, ever since you came back from Shanghai, you seem to be in such great spirits."

Zhao Shuyue smiled and said, "Indeed!" She herself felt it too. Before, a trip to the supply and marketing co-op would leave her sore and aching, but today, after covering so much ground, she didn’t feel tired at all.

After Zhao Shuyue left, everyone said she was fortunate.

Despite not having any descendants, she had Ni Yang. Ni Yang treated her as kindly as one would treat a grandmother.

Even some biological granddaughters couldn’t do what Ni Yang had done for her.

Mo Family.

Zhao Jingrong had remained at home these past few days.

She had figured out Ni Yang and Mo Qishen’s routine for returning home.

Every two weeks, the two would come back to stay for one night before leaving again. Today was one of those days when Mo Qishen and Ni Yang would be staying over.

Early in the morning, Old Mo and Mrs. Mo were already bustling about, because Ni Yang had once mentioned that Mrs. Mo’s honey-glazed sweet potatoes were delicious. Mrs. Mo remembered this comment and was now experimenting to make the dish even better.

"Grandpa, Grandma, need any help?" Zhao Jingrong stepped into the kitchen.

Mrs. Mo replied, "No need, you go watch the kids." Watch the kids, watch the kids—they only ever cared about the kids!

Was she the nanny the Mo Family hired to look after children?

In the eyes of Ni Yang, these old folks adored her like a treasure, while she was just the nanny—a mere child-minder!

This was completely unfair to her!

Zhao Jingrong felt deeply wronged, but fortunately, she already had a plan to deal with Ni Yang.

Zhao Jingrong continued, "Zhiyuan has Baichuan keeping an eye on him. I’ll help you instead."
