Diary of a Dead Wizard

Chapter 668: Early Submission

“Wuwu!!!”

The first-rank wizard Luke had brought had no mouth, but when he discovered Luke being swept away by the strange vortex, he still rushed forward in terror.

He passed the squinting Kismet, passed Lucy who had only managed to prop up her upper body, and ran straight toward Luke who had already been twisted into a mass.

But before he could reach the manor’s front gate, his entire body began twisting like the manor.

This first-rank wizard was also like paint on a canvas, directly twisted into a mass by an invisible but powerful force.

Kismet, who had been watching the show, saw this scene and retreated again, backing up another three meters. He discovered Lucy was lying on the ground motionless.

Sneering inwardly, he raised his hand and threw out a rope, grabbing Lucy’s waist and pulling her entire body up.

“Scared stupid?” Just as Kismet was about to mock her, he saw the airborne Lucy suddenly turn her head.

The smile on his face vanished instantly, and a cold sweat slid down from his temple.

Lucy’s face was like a painting with wet paint that someone had smeared in circles with their hand.

“Kis… met…”

Her mouth was also bent into several curves, making her speech unclear.

Kismet, who had been about to pull Lucy to his side and mock her, immediately and unhesitatingly threw her away.

Of course, Lucy was still useful to him, so he didn’t heartlessly throw her toward Old Days Manor, but tossed her to one side.

At the same time, he retreated several more steps.

Lucy also heard her own voice.

Rough and blurred.

She also saw the disgust and terror in Kismet’s eyes.

After landing again, Lucy couldn’t care about her body’s pain and quickly pressed both hands to her face.

The sensation from her palms felt like a puddle of mud. When she pulled her hands from her face, there were flesh-colored threads stretching, connecting her hands to the skin on her face.

“Ahhhhh!!!”

Lucy could no longer remain calm and screamed in terror.

“Shut up! Calm down!” Kismet didn’t pretend sympathy and sternly rebuked, “You’re already polluted now. If you don’t calm down, do you really want to mutate directly?”

Kismet’s voice made Lucy aware of her current state, and she quickly closed her mouth.

But even so, she saw a lump of flesh fall from her face with a “plop” onto the grass, then slide down bit by bit along the tender green branches and leaves.

“Ugh…” She sobbed once and quickly stopped.

Then Lucy realized that the closer she was to Old Days Manor, the greater the effect on her. So the next second she struggled to get up from the ground and ran frantically in the direction away from Old Days Manor.

But after running just a few steps, she felt her feet go soft. Her entire body involuntarily spun in a circle, as if being pulled by some force to turn in circles. Her brain also began to fog, and she could no longer exert any strength.

In the critical moment, Kismet suddenly flicked a piano string from his palm, wrapping it around Lucy’s waist and directly pulling her to his side.

But Kismet had no time to check Lucy’s condition. He still stared intently at the development of Old Days Manor.

The twisting effects caused by the recent tremors had spread from inside the manor to a hundred-meter range outside.

At the very center of the twisting was a black void where nothing inside could be seen.

Fortunately, the expansion of the twisting temporarily stopped. Kismet stood at the edge of the twisting, looking at what had become unrecognizable, turned into mixed paint.

“Storm Eye…” Kismet looked at the black hole at the very center. He was like standing at the very edge of a ten-thousand-foot abyss, murmuring, “…has appeared.”

An hour later, Saul descended on Old Days Manor riding the giant bird Diu Diu.

When he saw the current scene of Old Days Manor, he was truly shocked.

The huge and dilapidated manor had completely disappeared from this world, leaving only a whirlwind-like pattern on the ground.

By now there were scattered people standing far away in the small woods near the manor, watching.

At the edge of the twisted earth, two people were standing there recklessly.

Looking down, weren’t those two reckless people Kismet and Lucy?

Saul patted Diu Diu’s head, having it land near Kismet, then jumped directly down from the bird’s back.

As soon as he landed, Saul felt an extremely rich pollution aura.

That aura didn’t come from the shapeless Old Days Manor, but from Lucy, who was lying motionless on the ground beside Kismet.

“Lucy has been polluted and has already undergone mutation.”

The pollution on Lucy was also familiar—it was the terrible aura that every patient severely polluted by Black Tide that Saul had encountered over the past half year would have.

“What happened?” Saul walked to Lucy’s side, reaching out to help her while asking Kismet standing nearby.

“A Storm Eye appeared.” Kismet turned his head, showing a strange smile.

As if he was standing at the edge of a “cliff” to watch a good show.

“Storm Eye.” Hearing Kismet’s words, Saul’s fingers tightened.

He thought of Pei’er’s terrified escape just now. Was that also related to the Storm Eye?

But Pei’er was more afraid because of him. Could there be some connection between the Storm Eye and the stars?

Unable to figure out why, Saul exhaled and lowered his head to check Lucy’s condition.

When he saw Lucy’s face, he couldn’t help but gasp.

Lucy’s features were still there, but they had obviously been stirred clockwise several times. Whether in shape or position, they were quite different from before.

Lucy’s eyes were tightly closed at the moment, and her consciousness didn’t seem very clear either.

Saul knew she was currently on the edge of crisis and could enter a state of mutational collapse at any moment if not careful.

Saul’s ten fingers immediately transformed into soft tentacles, drilling in from Lucy’s forehead and temples.

As time passed, small amounts of black substances were absorbed from Lucy’s skull to Saul’s fingertips.

When each of Saul’s fingertips had absorbed a layer of black mist, Lucy finally opened her eyes.

Her gaze was confused for a moment, slowly recognizing Saul. “It’s you? What are you doing here?”

Saul supported Lucy, helping her sit up. “I was originally at the wizard tower, but was drawn here by the tremors. As soon as I arrived, I saw you lying on the ground with Kismet beside you. He said a Storm Eye appeared.”

Hearing Kismet’s name, Lucy’s pupils contracted for an instant, then returned to normal the next instant. When she heard about the Storm Eye appearing, she didn’t have such a big reaction.

Saul noticed Lucy’s change but said nothing, pretending he hadn’t seen it.

Kismet saw that Lucy’s face hadn’t returned to normal and said somewhat regretfully, “Seems like some pollution is beyond even your capabilities.”

Lucy froze, raising her hand to press on her face.

But contrary to Saul and Kismet’s expectations, this time she actually didn’t scream or sob, but very calmly accepted the change in her appearance.

For a moment, Saul wondered if Lucy’s mind had been affected by the pollution, but when his mental power probed into Lucy’s body, her feedback showed no abnormalities.

Her spiritual body hadn’t collapsed.

She was like a child who had grown into an adult overnight, becoming composed and calm.

Before long, a pumpkin carriage gradually transformed from transparent to solid, appearing before everyone.

Dense swarms of fireflies flew from the sky.

Firefly Lord Herbert also appeared.

Only the Wind Sprite never made an entrance.

As the strongest wizard present, Herbert only glanced at Lucy sideways before speaking, “A Storm Eye has appeared and needs immediate sealing. It seems your candidates’ task needs to change. There’s no time to wait for you to research formations anymore.”

“Then… let’s use the formation I designed for direct sealing.”

Corey’s emotionless voice rang out from the pumpkin carriage.

The carriage door opened, and a girl in a doll lace dress floated out.

“Although I only have fifty percent confidence, since the exam has started early, I can only submit my paper early too.”
