Chapter 378 - 15: Absolute Freeze and Absolute Time

Chapter 378: Chapter 15: Absolute Freeze and Absolute Time

The Witch Kalsa is also known as the Frost Witch, and just from her nickname, one can guess which type of magic she specializes in.

As her Truth Magic Array unfolded, snowflakes began to drift down in the spacious great hall, and suddenly a blizzard erupted within.

This blizzard was controlled with great precision, concentrated solely on the small area where the two individuals confronted each other in the center of the hall, with not even the slightest change in temperature elsewhere.

“Whoosh!”

In the concentrated area of this blizzard, the fierce wind howled, carrying snow and ice that transformed into solid ice blades, slashing towards Lynch with the biting cold wind.

In this conflict, the Witch Kalsa was the first to act.

However, facing this fierce onslaught, Lynch stood as immovable as a mountain, naturally unfolding an absolute force field before him, forming a protective domain. The incoming icy blades shattered upon impact, hardly causing a ripple on Lynch’s force field.

Lynch even tauntingly remarked, “Witch Kalsa, is this the extent of the Witch Castle’s power? If that’s all, it’s truly disappointing.”

Kalsa’s eyes revealed a hint of anger as she retorted with a sneer, “Outsider, the last person to be so arrogant before me ended up as an ice sculpture buried in the wilderness after the battle at Kassen Corridor. Do you wish to follow in his footsteps?”

Lynch replied, “You can try!”

Kalsa coldly responded, “Then let me grant your wish!”

As she spoke, her fingers swiftly danced in the air, sketching rune after rune, as she started chanting an obscure spell.

As the incantation sounded, Lynch could clearly feel the surrounding temperature plummet at an astonishing speed.

The moving elements in the air were visibly frozen, and even the space appeared to have faint cracks of being frozen.

“Crack…”

The crisp cracking sounds echoed as fine cracks began to appear on the surface of the once-unbreakable protective force field, making it resemble shattered tempered glass.

Lynch’s previously indifferent expression turned serious for the first time.

Though the other parts of the great hall seemed unaffected, in reality, the small area centered around them had formed a fearsome domain, an icy domain.

Within this domain, the temperature was approaching the legendary absolute zero that could even freeze time, and any living being would be torn apart by the ice’s power in an instant.

“Truly deserving of the title Frost Witch!”

Lynch nodded in admiration, such tactics reminded him of Frost Speaker Serena from the land of Ancient Ruins. Clearly, these veteran Second Tier experts are not trivial.

Kalsa coldly said, “So, will you talk properly now?”

At this moment, she entered a peculiar state.

Her skin turned ice blue, with snow-patterned lines appearing on it, her eyes glowed blue, and similar ice blue lines spread out beside her eyes.

Behind her appeared a massive phantom, resembling a humanoid entity with a female appearance, but whose entire skin was snow blue, akin to the legendary Ice and Snow Goddess, and indeed it was a deity.

The Ice and Snow Goddess, Shiva!

This was one of the powerful ancient deities that ruled the world before the era of wizards.

Part of Kalsa’s family has the bloodline of Shiva, allowing her to learn this set of divine attribute magic. When she casts spells, she can activate Shiva’s bloodline within her and summon Shiva’s projection to borrow part of her power.

Under the blessing of Shiva’s Ice and Snow Power, Kalsa’s control over the ice element would be elevated to its peak, enabling her to bring the temperature here to absolute zero.

“Ha!”

Lynch chuckled lightly, showing no signs of compromise. Instead, he defiantly continued, “Witch, I think you’re mistaken?”

“A compliment is a compliment, but that’s all it is.”

At this point, he waved his right hand, and with a ’crack’ sound, the absolute force field protecting him and shielding him from the icy blades and the frozen exterior shattered abruptly.

Surprisingly, Lynch chose to withdraw his defense at this moment.

Kalsa’s expression changed.

There was no animosity between her and Lynch, their confrontation was merely a test and a probe, always contained within a small area, and she had no intention of harming him.

Yet, with Lynch suddenly relinquishing his defenses, she didn’t even have time to retract her magic, allowing the icy blades to continue slashing towards him.

The icy blades in an absolute zero state could even freeze time. For an ordinary being with no defenses, relying solely on physical presence in such an environment would have terrifying consequences.

Just as Lynch seemed about to be frozen instantly and then shredded by the ice blades, a bizarre scene unfolded.

Lynch remained nonchalantly standing in the freezing blizzard, the icy blades striking him one by one, yet leaving no marks or wounds on him; instead, they shattered upon impact.

It was as if Lynch was still enveloped by an invisible barrier.

Kalsa’s pupils contracted abruptly, “How is this possible?”

With her perceptive eye, it was clear that Lynch had no protective barrier; he was simply standing in her ice force field using his body to resist it.

His body had undergone no special transformation, nor could she detect the scent of a powerful magic creature on him. Yet, somehow, he could withstand the icy intrusion, which was utterly unbelievable.

So, how did Lynch do it?

It’s actually very simple; Lynch merely used Time Suspension.

Only this time, the time suspended wasn’t someone else’s; it was his own time.

Lynch had never ceased studying Time Magic over the years, and with a deeper understanding of this realm, he reached new levels. One such achievement was suspending his own time.

Through this method, he could integrate the Time Law into every cell of his body, completely suspending his own time.

Once his time was suspended, his cells would remain at that frozen moment, irrespective of how fierce the attacks were. Since he existed in a different time dimension, seemingly the attacks landed on him, but they hit another temporal state.

In this state, he was, in a sense, an immortal existence.
