Chapter 380: Chapter 17: Requests and Inquiries
At the Second Order Level, it is impossible to be an obscure character, and every word and deed is highly noticeable.
Lynch had just arrived in the Jade Land and forcefully defeated Tristan, usurping the latter’s power. This series of actions had already caught the attention of all major forces in the Jade Land from the moment he began to rise.
Originally, everyone thought it might be some foreign force coming to the Jade Land to seize territories, and many forces were tense for a while because of this.
However, Lynch did not continue to expand outward but instead started working on the Underground City. He even invested a large amount of Magic Stones into it. Many wizards had witnessed that it was a fruitless old graveyard, and no one knew why he was doing this.
Lynch said, “It’s nothing. I’m just purely interested in ancient things, that’s all.”
For others, the ruins of the Underground City were considered difficult to mine and low in output value, a useless area. But for him, it was a rare resource treasure trove.
The knowledge fragments that others couldn’t make sense of, for him with the system, were just a matter of time to decipher.
The souls trapped inside, unable to transcend, would become powerful allies at his disposal after mastering Space Magic, constructing a domain exclusively for him—a powerful space and undead domain.
That cannot be exchanged for any amount of resources.
Moreover, the deeper you dig, the more valuable the knowledge you gain in the later stages, and even the legendary Truth-level Knowledge actually exists within these ruins…
After a pause, he continued, “Inviting the witches to join my team to explore the Underground City together shouldn’t be difficult for you, right? I will also use Moonlight Mushrooms for their payment. It’s mutually beneficial, isn’t it?”
Witch Kalsa thought for a moment and, finding nothing wrong, nodded and said, “Okay.”
The first project of cooperation was already negotiated, and the purpose of this trip was half accomplished.
Lynch continued, “Besides, I also need you, Witch Kalsa, to make a move once. Of course, for this, I will pay you extra to your satisfaction.”
Witch Kalsa frowned slightly, “I told you, I don’t want to get involved in the disputes between you and the Dark Moon Church.”
Lynch shook his head, “You misunderstood.”
After a pause, he explained, “In the Underground City that my team has currently opened up, a Bone Dragon was found. Its presence has made it impossible to explore that part of the Underground City.”
“I hope you, Witch Kalsa, can assist me in defeating this Bone Dragon and clearing the obstacle for my team to explore this ruin.”
Lynch had long wanted to deal with this Bone Dragon. After all, as a Necromancer, riding a magnificent Bone Dragon soaring in the sky was almost every necromancer’s greatest pursuit, and Lynch was no exception.
Of course, aside from showing off, the Bone Dragon was indeed practically needed. A Bone Dragon with attribute values equivalent to a Third-tier Level, if controlled, would greatly enhance Lynch’s personal combat power and provide more assurance for his future war with the Dark Moon Church.
However, based on his current strength alone, he wasn’t very confident in dealing with this Bone Dragon. He had tried several times before, each time ending in failure.
There were even times when he was quite embarrassed and had to rely on Space Magic to escape.
If I can’t handle it myself, then find external support!
Through his skirmishes with the Bone Dragon, Lynch also realized that even though the opponent was stronger than him, it was only marginally so. If a Second Order ally joined the battle, Lynch would be fairly confident in taking down the opponent.
Witch Kalsa said, “A Bone Dragon?”
“I did hear rumors before about a Bone Dragon being discovered in the ruins of the Underground City…”
Thinking for a moment, she nodded and said, “Sure, I agree.”
What? So smoothly?
Lynch didn’t expect Kalsa to agree so quickly. He even had a bunch of prepared arguments that he hadn’t needed to use.
But soon, he understood the reason.
Kalsa said, “However, I also have a condition.”
Lynch said, “Please, go ahead.”
Kalsa said, “As far as I know, where there are Dragon Species, there should be Companion Dragon Crystals, right?”
Companion Dragon Crystals are a rather high-level Extraordinary Material, naturally formed from some bodily secretions of giant dragons, and are definitely present in Giant Dragon Nests.
Before becoming a Bone Dragon, it certainly was a living dragon, and its nest would naturally contain Companion Dragon Crystals, which, like minerals, wouldn’t decay and would always exist.
In other words, theoretically, where a Bone Dragon is discovered, Companion Dragon Crystals will certainly exist as well.
Witch Kalsa continued, “Companion Dragon Crystals, this is the magical material I need. I’ll help you deal with the Bone Dragon, and after everything is over, I don’t want anything else, just this one material.”
Lynch shrugged, “That’s fine.”
This thing, though precious, isn’t the direction of his research, so it doesn’t hold much value for him. On the contrary, it even helps him save a large sum of Magic Stones by resolving the payment problem, so why not?
According to market price, hiring a Second Order strong individual is extremely expensive.
With such a smooth collaboration, both parties seemed very pleased. The previous tension had vanished, and the atmosphere became harmonious.
Witch Kalsa said, “It’s rare for Saphiro to visit the Witch Castle, let me arrange someone to accompany you for a tour.”
Lynch politely said, “Will it trouble you?”
Witch Kalsa laughed, “These ladies have plenty of time, it’s not any trouble.”
After a pause, she said meaningfully, “Though it might trouble you, as the girls in this woman-only world can be quite lonely, and you’re such a handsome man, it might be hard for them not to lose control in front of you.”
Kalsa wasn’t entirely joking. Ever since Lynch entered the Witch Castle and walked here, every witch that saw him had eyes practically glowing, as if they wanted to swallow him whole.
Even now, after the tension eased, the witches standing in the hall showed spring-like excitement in their eyes as they looked at him.
“Hee hee!”
“Ha ha, Lord of Fiery Flame, we are quite willing to be your guides.”
“Need any clothes?”
Shortly after Witch Kalsa spoke, a clamorous and teasing string of voices rose up.
Lynch’s expression was slightly awkward.
“Ahem!”
He cleared his throat, changing the subject, “Let’s discuss something else.”
After a pause, he asked, “By the way, I have a question for the Frost Witch.”
Kalsa said, “Please, go ahead.”
Lynch asked, “I want to know about the Lord of Dark Moon, what his specific strength is?”
Kalsa was stunned, “You mean Tarim?”
