Chapter 470 - 2: Angel

Chapter 470: Chapter 2: Angel

Two months later, Misty Forest, Guardian Tower.

In the laboratory.

“Gabriel, go check if the Moonlight Grass in Crucible Four is done boiling. If the thermometer turns red, take out the Moonlight Grass and bring it to me.” Lynch said without lifting his head from his notes.

“Yes, master.”

A voice responded. It belonged to a strange creature standing next to Lynch.

This was a humanoid creature with a torso and limbs similar to a human, but its lower body lacked human reproductive organs. Its head was bald, with basic facial features that were very rudimentary, essentially just tiny holes.

This was one of the Magic Lives Lynch created before making the Light Goddess. Follow current ɴᴏᴠᴇʟs on n0velfire.net

Since these were initial experimental products, Lynch had not prepared a complete body for them in advance at the time, so their bodies looked rough, much like this one, with only basic structure.

But that’s fine; he wasn’t aiming to create humans but Magic Lives that fit his needs.

And what were his needs?

He required beings with their own consciousness, capable of learning, absolutely loyal to him, able to contain the Power of Faith, and mastering spiritual power to cast Spells…

Based on these needs and combining them with his own hardware facilities, Lynch decided to adopt the beings within the mythological system of the Light Church as templates for the Magic Lives he wanted to create, which were—

Divine beings, Angels.

The Light Goddess was already created, so naturally, the Divine Servants, the Angels under her would be indispensable.

The “Divine Oracle” in the Light Church as the core foundation was compiled by Lynch himself. Some of the content within was drawn from various myths and legends that already existed in this world, while another part was combined with Earth’s mythological knowledge, including Angels.

When compiling the Divine Oracle, Lynch wrote a complete angelic system, including Blazing Angels, Throne Angels, and Six-winged Angels, each with a name and identity.

According to Lynch’s description in the Divine Oracle, angels have no gender, so it was only natural for Lynch to remove their reproductive systems when creating them.

Other internal parts of their bodies were also modified accordingly to better suit the identity of an Angel.

After a while, Gabriel brought over the extracted Moonlight Grass: “Master.”

Lynch examined the Moonlight Grass to check its quality, and after confirming no issues, he placed the Moonlight Grass into a container to proceed with the next operation.

Now that the Goddess and Angels were created, there was still a significant gap to the genuine article; the first step was to empower them.

Besides Frankenstein, who Lynch didn’t touch because of its low malleability during the apprentice period, the remaining Magic Lives were newly created, and Lynch put a lot of effort into crafting them.

He modified them from the direction of the cell nucleus based on his current knowledge, allowing every cell to be highly receptive to Elemental Energy and suitable for the conduction of spiritual power.

Bodies created in this way were almost akin to the very rare ’Innate Elemental Spirit Body’ within the Wizard System.

Innate Elemental Spirit Body refers to some Wizards whose bodies are intrinsically suited to carry elements and spiritual power, giving them a natural advantage in learning and casting Spells, making it easier compared to regular Wizards.

“Boiled Moonlight Grass, Seven-point Flower, and two Belief Fruits, blood of a Fanatic…”

Lynch placed the necessary materials one by one into the glass container in front of him, then used a small spoon to crush them all, fusing and refining them, and soon, a small test tube of potion was prepared in the container.

This was the fusion solution of the Power of Faith.

Lynch decided to continue down the path of the Power of Faith to empower these Magic Lives.

After all, while their souls are of an alienation soul with Wizard potential, their physical structure is entirely different from humans. If they were to engage in meditation and cultivation and learn to construct Magic to gain Strength, it would require extensive body modification.

Not only would it be exhausting, but also completely unnecessary, as even with perfect modifications, it would ultimately yield just a few Wizard Apprentices with limited significance.

Moreover,

Since they are Angels, relying on straightforward meditation and cultivation for Strength would be too low!

Lynch handed the prepared Magic Potion to Gabriel and instructed, “Drink it.”

“Yes.”

Gabriel took the test tube and with a tilt of his head, drank the Magic Potion.

Lynch pointed to the side and said, “Go stand on that altar, focus your mind, clear your thoughts, and don’t move.”

In the direction Lynch indicated, there was a facility resembling an altar made of stacked stones. Gabriel obediently walked over and stood right in the center of the altar, motionless.

Though these artificial lives already had independent thought and consciousness, they still differed fundamentally from human individuals with complex thought and strong independent consciousness. From Lynch’s observation so far, these artificial lives do not yet possess independent personalities.

They are more like infinitely loyal, weak in self-assertion, existing entirely for Lynch’s sake.

Just like Alya before, with scarcely any independent thoughts of her own, essentially doing whatever Lynch told her to, akin to Lynch’s appendage.

“We’ve finally reached this point!”

Lynch took a deep breath and picked up a Crystal Ball from the table. Within the Crystal Ball was a wisp of faint white mist-like substance, which was none other than a strand of Power of Faith extracted from the Statue of Light Goddess in the Light Cathedral.

No matter how many times he experimented before, Fanatics, regular Believers, Light Priestesses, ordinary clergy… every experiment ended in failure.

Even the most devout Fanatics couldn’t bear the complex Power of Faith. Even such a wisp of Power of Faith, when merged into another’s Spirit, nearly caused the other’s Spirit to collapse.

Several Fanatics still occasionally suffer from chaotic consciousness…

Finding a way to fuse the Power of Faith through regular Believers seems like a dead end for now. So, what would be the situation with these artificial lives?

Might it…

be successful?

“I hope so!”

Lynch silently prayed in his heart, placing the Crystal Ball on the altar, and activated the rune on the altar, merging that wisp of Power of Faith into Gabriel’s spiritual power…
