Chapter 486 - 18: The Characters Behind

Chapter 486: Chapter 18: The Characters Behind

Nana was taken aback and quickly declined, “No… there’s no need, I didn’t mean it that way, serving you, my lord, is what I ought to do…”

Lynch nonchalantly forced the Magic Stone into Nana’s hand, “Take it.”

Ever since partnering with Fran and establishing a stable cooperative relationship, there hadn’t been a shortfall of Magic Stones.

On his path of cultivation, for his personal needs, the issues that could be solved with Magic Stones were no longer problems. The remaining required resources and knowledge could not be addressed even with Magic Stones.

For Lynch personally, Magic Stones were now just numbers without much meaning left.

“This…”

Seeing that she really couldn’t refuse, Nana could only accept the Magic Stone Bag, “Nana thanks you, Lord Saphiro, really, truly, thank you very much.”

She bowed several times to Lynch in gratitude.

Looking at how flustered Nana appeared before him, Lynch couldn’t help but find it amusing and also remembered his past self.

When he was just a small apprentice in the Shadow Tower, he was exactly like this, earning maybe dozens to hundreds of Magic Stones per month with hard work from morning till night. He was frugal and reluctant to buy Magic Potions to restore spiritual power and had to rely on cultivating the Knight Breathing Method and drinking spring water to squeeze out spiritual power for cultivation.

Back then, forget about thousands of Magic Stones; if someone generously gave him a few dozen or a hundred Magic Stones, he would be so grateful he’d almost call them “dad”…

Every time he went to the Fairy Tavern to treat people to a meal, a simple meal could gain him a bunch of godsons and goddaughters, which, thinking back, was quite amusing.

It wasn’t until he met Avery that Lynch first experienced the pleasure of being pampered and financial freedom. Back then, whatever he needed for cultivation, Avery could effortlessly provide with ease.

After all these years, he had regained his financial freedom and even exceeded it, but he wondered, are his former companions doing well?

Mulling over these chaotic thoughts, Lynch continued to wander around the market.

This market was far more prosperous than Lynch had anticipated.

The entire market centered around the roots of the Jade Tree, spanning three roots and stretching for twenty or thirty miles.

In this length, there were seven or eight thousand Transcendents, and if their followers were included, the number was countless, with a myriad of goods available.

It’s worth noting that, as Lynch later learned, one of the organizers of this market was identical to the first Wizard Market he visited since coming to the Wizard World, organized by that same Extraordinary Organization called Golden Carriage.

In fact, this isn’t surprising.

Golden Carriage, as a Wizard Organization focused on trade, linked and hosted over 80% of the Wizard Markets in the Wizard World.

They often traveled to different Witch Domains and established contact with various major Wizard Organizations within, facilitating trade activities and organizing Wizard Markets.

Since they offered generous profits, any losses from a Wizard Market were borne by them, and the profits were even split with local Wizard Organizations, making them welcomed by most Wizard Organizations.

Of course, besides their knack for fostering relationships, the key factor for their success worldwide was their backing— ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ novel★fire.net

Fran.

Golden Carriage originated from the Wizard Organization of Fran, with traces of major Wizard Organizations from Fran supporting them. If necessary, they could even leverage Fran’s Rules of Power. A neutral trade Wizard Organization might be ignored, but with Fran’s endorsement, people had to take them seriously.

After wandering for a while, Lynch bought some other miscellaneous items.

These included atmospheric creature samples from the Sky World, rare Magic Plants from the Underground World, some rare ancient handwriting, other strange materials, and research samples.

He basically bought whatever caught his eye, as problems solvable with Magic Stones weren’t issues for him anymore; this large market was like his personal wardrobe.

In the eyes of any high-level wizard, powerful force, or great family, the world was like this, divided into the profiteering class and the servile class.

The value of trade was to channel the productive labor of the servile class into the hands of the profiteering class.

To the profiteering class, at a certain point, currency had lost its original meaning and served merely as a certificate to claim others’ labor.

“The time is about right. Lord Saphiro, shall we head over?”

“Let’s go then.”

After wandering for a while, until the meeting time approached, Nana led Lynch to a clearing not far from the market and blew a Flute.

Not long after the crisp flute sound, the flapping of wings was heard from the sky above.

Soon, a procession of carriages, surrounded by several Harpies, descended onto the platform where Lynch stood. The carriage was white with exquisite carvings, and the horses pulling it were six rare Magic Beasts—a Celestial Horse.

Each Celestial Horse was pure white with no speck of blemish, and even their heights were identical. The driver was a short-statured dwarf, but despite being a dwarf, he had an unusually delicate appearance with a pair of pointed ears that seemed to indicate partial Elven lineage, looking like a miniature Elf.

The carriage glided down and stopped at Lynch’s feet, a Banshee helped Lynch open the carriage door, and Lynch then boarded the carriage with Nana and ascended into the sky.

Though the distance appeared close, it actually flew for a few minutes, soon reaching the canopy.

From below, seeing the lush, interconnected branches, one knew it was dense, yet being within truly took Lynch by surprise.

The interwoven branches and leaves, shading the sun, grew denser as one progressed, really like being in a dense Forest.

The carriage flew towards the center of this Forest, and after traversing a dense canopy woodland, arrived at a peculiar place, where a bizarre and fantastical scene unfolded before Lynch’s eyes…
