Chapter 524: Chapter 19: Declaration of War!
The situation in the Ramding Kingdom has intensified to the point of almost inciting public frenzy.
No faction has stepped forward to control the spread of public opinion, and even some extraordinary influences behind Feiyan City have begun to stir the pot. This update is available on NoveIFire.net
Most notably among them is the Minstrel Association.
A few days later, this extraordinary organization, which masters the transmission of people’s thoughts, began to pluck the magic-laden strings of their instruments, singing a lament in the city based on the Ramding tragedy:
“Listen! Hear the wind howl!”
“Listen! Hear the soul wail!”
“Ramding’s fertile land, soaked with my warriors’ blood!”
“Under the noble emblem lies a heart of snakes and scorpions!”
“For that bottle of water? For selfish desires?”
“They brutally skinned and dismembered warriors for sacrifices!”
“Water of Life, turned into scarlet wine.”
“Staining their hunting grounds, their Heaven!”
The inflammatory lyrics sung in a somber and mournful tone spread throughout Feiyan City, infused with spiritual power, quickly touching everyone with profound sadness.
What followed was anger.
Unprecedented anger!
With anger, with hatred, comes the need for venting and revenge.
Although Feiyan City’s official stance remained silent, it couldn’t stop adventurers from seeking justice themselves.
After all, they inherently possessed formidable powers, especially after being endowed with extraordinary powers, these adventurers were entirely capable.
Since the officials wouldn’t intervene, let us take revenge ourselves!
“Blood for blood!”
Unknowingly, someone shouted this slogan, and it was followed by a series of retaliation actions against Ramding Kingdom quietly launched among the adventurers…
In early February, an adventurer team was attacked by Ramding Kingdom knights once again after exploring Dungeon No. 2186.
However, this time what awaited them was not an exhausted and panicked adventurer team, but eight squads of adventurers, 36 in total, who had laid in ambush for a long time.
All 36 adventurers were Bronze beings equivalent to Knight Level, and with their mastery of extraordinary powers, their overall strength far surpassed that of ordinary knights.
The roles of hunter and prey reversed in an instant, catching the Ramding Kingdom knights off guard, resulting in over 20 knights losing their lives here.
The initial success of the battle allowed the adventurers to release a long-suppressed rage.
But the revenge was far from over; it was only just beginning.
Two weeks later, over ten assassins skilled in [Stealth] infiltrated Watson Castle of the Ramding Kingdom.
This was an influential noble family in the Ramding Kingdom and one of the main culprits in prior attacks against adventurers, responsible for more than a dozen adventurer deaths.
Well aware of the blood on their hands, the Watson family remained exceedingly vigilant, setting up heavy defenses miles outside their castle.
However, for these top-notch assassins with extraordinary powers, these defenses were like nothing.
The assassins easily breached the Watson family’s arrangements and stealthily infiltrated Watson Castle.
They poisoned, ambushed, and schemed.
From the patriarch to the women of the family, none were spared, all dying within the castle in a single night, erasing this noteworthy Count Level family from Ramding Kingdom history.
Suddenly, the entire Ramding Kingdom was shaken!
The Ramding Kingdom was based on a complete noble lord system, and nobles unquestionably were the true ruling class of this land.
If other nobles ignored the extermination of such a ruling class family, then noble authority would be lost on this land, leading to a loss of ruling legitimacy.
Immediately, the entire Ramding Kingdom began to mobilize.
The King, in shock and fury, signed the highest-level mobilization order. The golden scroll was swiftly relayed by messengers riding fast horses to every Earl’s Domain, Baron’s Domain, and Directly Affiliated Knight Domain.
The order demanded all vassals, regardless of size, must assemble and gather the largest forces possible within 15 days, with weapons, horses, and at least a month’s supply, and march to designated large assembly points.
Inside noble castles, the fires of blacksmith shops burned all night, forging and repairing armor and weapons. Knights polished dust-covered plate armor, while attendants prepared horses and organized equipment.
On manorial grounds, recruitment horns sounded, lords forcibly conscripted able free men and peasant soldiers, issuing weapons such as spears, scythes, and hunting bows, forming large infantry formations.
The Royal family’s elite forces were urgently mobilized. The White Tower Guard heavy infantry army stationed in the Royal Capital, the “Golden Lion” knight order, and the King’s Royal Guard Knights began preparations. Heavy plate armor was polished, warhorses were shod with new horseshoes, crossbows, and counterweight catapults, and other siege machinery were pulled from warehouses by engineer units for assembly and transport.
Areas adjacent to Orendale bordering Karina were prioritized. Border fortresses originally used for taxation and surveillance were urgently reinforced. Masons and workers, under soldier supervision, worked day and night to raise city walls, dig moats, and set up barricades and palisades.
Sparse sentry posts increased garrison and patrol frequency, and sentinels on watch towers remained vigilant, observing every nuance beyond the border.
Not only Ramding Kingdom.
The same arrangements and mobilizations quietly commenced in several neighboring countries—Calia Duchy, Dozel Duchy, Kalis Kingdom—these being Ramding Kingdom’s allied countries, nominally loyal to Charlie Greenst.
This was a descendant of the Greenst family, roughly Karina’s cousin, and after the collapse of Orendale, Charlie was elected king by the nobility of this generation, hence Charlie’s Orendale.
Simultaneously, several extraordinary influences behind them began to become active, with ravens continuously flying to various noble domains, and magic potions, scrolls, and Alchemy Tools appearing in the hands of human nobles.
Everything was ready, and as the situation reached this point, everyone knew what the next development would be.
Without any surprise…
In mid-March of Wizard Calendar 10138, Charlie’s Orendale, jointly with two kingdoms, two Grand Dukes, and hundreds of nobles, sent a war letter to Feiyan City, formally declaring war against Karina’s Orendale—
Declare War!
