Chapter 631 - 35: Departure for Fran!

Chapter 631: Chapter 35: Departure for Fran!

There are mainly two ways to reach the Land of Fran: either by the shipwreck of the Endless Sea or by flying overhead on a Flying Aircraft.

Land travel is not recommended because it is just too far.

The Wizard World is vast and wide. Take Lynch’s Witch Domain, the Jade Land, for example; its total area is comparable to the Eurasian Continent on Earth, and in the Wizard World, it is only a middle-to-lower Domain.

Dozens of Domains lie between Jade Land and the Land of Fran, many of which are more expansive than Lynch’s Jade Land.

Mountains, rivers, lakes, and forests — it’s uncertain how long one would take to traverse the land route…

Moreover, the troubles and dangers are numerous.

Most forests and mountains are uninhabited, teeming with Magic Beasts and countless venomous and ferocious creatures. There are beings of Second Tier, Third Tier, and even stronger; some places, even as Domains, are not that easily passed through…

Can’t use spatial teleportation to go there?

It’s not that it can’t be used but that it is not allowed.

The Rules of the Supreme Council dictate that only within their own Domains can the realms be expanded. When a Domain Wizard ventures into another Domain, they can only control a very small area, and are not allowed to cover and expand mines freely.

Previously, Lynch merely extended his Domain slightly beyond his boundary and suffered a clash with the Domain Strength of other Wizards.

To boldly expand one’s Domain into another Wizard’s Domain without notice is an act of declaration of war…

Let Fran mediate?

The Supreme Council is essentially an organization for Wizards to discuss and deliberate, consisting of complex and intertwined powers, many of which are antagonistic. Even the grand Land of Fran, as one of the Four High Members of the Council, is not respected and revered by all.

In fact, numerous Wizard Organizations loathe them, wishing them dead, only maintaining a façade because they are incapable of opposing them…

In conclusion,

After consulting with Kong, Lynch finally opted for the conventional aerial route, taking a Flying Aircraft. This was an agreed-upon aerial route established after Supreme Council discussions, generally free from interference by Wizard Powers.

Now, on an aerial route west of the Cloud Sea heading towards the Land of Fran.

In the boundless blue sky, the enormous “Cloud Whale” Flying Aircraft plows through the turbulent sea of clouds like a giant silver-white whale, steady and elegant.

Sunlight poured unreservedly onto its streamlined metallic shell, reflecting a dazzling radiance.

On both sides of the craft, massive propellers inscribed with complex wind runes hummed steadily, churning the cotton-candy-like clouds below, leaving a long, slow-diffusing vapour trail.

In the distance, towering mountain-clouds appeared like frozen giant waves, displaying magnificent hues of gold-red or deep purple under the sun’s illumination.

Occasionally, large, oddly-shaped “atmospheric creatures” briefly flit by the edge of the cloud layer — or jellyfish-like beings, entirely transparent and refracting a rainbow of colors, or massive beasts with wide fleshy wings resembling manta rays, their presence added a mysterious and dangerous vitality to the seemingly silent skies.

The camera pans through the sturdy, transparent crystal-embedded reinforced glass portholes, into the spacious and comfortable VIP cabin of the Flying Aircraft.

The cabin is carpeted in thick, soft dark blue, with walls adorned in dark walnut panels, exuding a faint woody aroma. Several sets of deep velvet-covered sofas and armchairs circle around a small central table, arranged with exquisite tea ware and a few plates of dainty snacks. The circulating air system brings a refreshing breeze, maintaining a fitting temperature.

At this moment, the cabin is quite lively.

Annie is almost entirely pressed against the immense porthole, her small nose leaving an adorable mark on the cool crystal glass. Her eyes sparkled like stars as she pointed excitedly outside the window:

“Wow! Teacher! Kong sister! Look quickly! Doesn’t that cloud look like a giant rabbit?! Oh! Over there! There’s a big ’fish’! It’s all silver and shiny! It just dived into the cloud!” Her voice was as clear as chimes, brimming with boundless wonder about the unknown world.

Frankenstein sat at her feet, like a silent mountain of flesh, its button-stitched eyes vacantly “watching” the cloud scenery fly by, occasionally making indecipherable “gurgling” sounds, seemingly responding to its little owner’s excitement.

Fairy Naliti quietly stood by, her posture tall and elegant. She wore a fitted, deep green travel outfit suited for action, yet her demeanor remained poised and naturally respectful towards Lynch.

Her gaze was also occasionally captivated by the majestic spectacle of the cloud sea beyond, with a hint of awe and curiosity flitting through her lake-green eyes. She held a silver tray with freshly brewed, subtly fragrant fairy flower tea, ready to refill Lynch and Kong’s cups.

Annie had long harbored a keen interest in the Land of Fran, part of the Four Dominant Five-Ring Domains. When she heard that Lynch was traveling to Fran, she insisted on accompanying him.

Lynch conceded, feeling it was indeed appropriate for her to see the world and gain knowledge, and thus he took Annie along. Since Annie was going, someone had to care for her, so Naliti was brought along as well —

The Fairy has now almost become Lynch’s dedicated Maid, the head maid of the Guardian Tower, taking responsibility for virtually all the eating, drinking, and living within the tower.

Apart from these two, Lynch didn’t bring anyone else, leaving Little Fire Dragon Parker, Forest Fairy Xia, and Messiah back at the Guardian Tower. Although the overall environment is peaceful, who knows how many undercurrents might be stirring, and he was unsure of how long this journey would last, so leaving some precautions behind was necessary.

“Sasha! ~” A breeze blew, lifting the curtains of the small table.

Beside the small table, Lynch and Kong sat facing each other. On the table was the fairy flower tea Naliti had just served, its pale-golden liquid misty with warmth in bone china cups, a few pink petals floating and sinking within. A few plates of delicate fairy tea cakes wafted a natural sweet aroma.

Kong gracefully lifted her teacup, her manner ethereal and detached as always, taking a subtle sip; a faint expression of approval fleetingly in her silver eyes. She set the cup down, her gaze turning to Lynch, her voice echoing like a sound from within a valley: “Fairy flower tea always soothes the agitation of travel. Miss Naliti’s skills are exquisite.”

Lynch picked up his teacup as well, savoring the unique fragrance spreading across his tongue, bringing a sense of calm. He looked at Kong with his gray eyes, inquiringly: “Thank you. Kong, how much longer will it take us to reach Fran’s core airship port?”

“At the speed of the ’Cloud Whale’, crossing the skies of seven Domains and avoiding known ’atmospheric vortices’ and ’elemental turbulence zones’, it should take about ten more days of voyage.”

“The ’Sky Corridor’ is maintained collectively by the Supreme Council and serves as the busiest and relatively safest air route connecting the Five-Ring Core Area to the outskirts. Ordinary troubles dare not approach.” Her words bore the characteristic confidence of Fran.

“But…”

Just as she was speaking, a crisp sound emerged from the cabin, followed by a bird flying out from an oil painting hanging on the wall.

Upon closer inspection, the bird was made of paper. As it approached Lynch and Kong, the origami bird unfurled into a letter, silently drifting in front of Lynch. Dıscover more novels at novel⸺fire.net

This was a communication paper crane, a piece of Witchcraft capable of long-distance communication and information relay in motion, which Lynch kept on hand for convenient contact with his Domain.

He picked up the letter and noticed the corner insignia indicated it was from the Light Church.

“Hmm?”

When his gaze fell on the letter’s contents, his brows furrowed involuntarily…
