Chapter 859 - 37: Epilogue (The Grand Finale!)

Chapter 859: Chapter 37: Epilogue (The Grand Finale!)

The complete demise of Erodion was like pulling out the final soul pillar of the distorted giant statue that was the Freemasonry Church. Without the unifying will and power infusion of the “Father God,” the church system spread across the Ancient Ruins collapsed at an astonishing speed.

The remaining fanatics, upon learning of the Holy City’s fall and the extinction of the Father God, either fell into madness and self-destructed or scattered like birds and animals in confusion.

The guards and priests in various places, under the absolute superiority in power and political conciliation of Jade Land and the Farlan Alliance, mostly chose to surrender or disband. The few hardcore strongholds that resisted stubbornly were swiftly eradicated during the alliance’s sweeping operations.

The storm of war that swept through the entire land of ruins slowly subsided with the disappearance of the eye of the storm, after lasting several months.

After the war,

The power map was redrawn. As adjudicated by the Supreme Council and negotiated with all parties, the Ancient Ruins officially became annexed and managed by the Witch Domain of Jade Land, serving as an important extension part of it on the Main Plane.

The Blue Realm Wizard Domain, for its critical aid in this battle, received corresponding resource compensation and knowledge-sharing privileges and established a permanent exchange tower here.

The faith vacuum and the massive base of believers left by the Freemasonry Church were not brutally erased. Under the leadership of the Messiah and with Lynch’s support, the Light Church, with the purpose of “purification, guidance, guarding,” was gradually established, replacing the originally twisted and fanatical Freemasonry faith.

The Messiah, in the guise of the Light Goddess, demonstrated miracles to soothe the people’s hearts and orderly guided and transformed the Power of Faith originally directed at Erodion into Light Power to purify the land, heal wounds, and maintain basic order.

The new church stripped away the harsh laws and soul branding, focusing more on spiritual solace, moral guidance, and basic livelihood, gradually winning acceptance among the war-weary populace.

Once again, wizards became the dominant force in this land. But this time, it was no longer an era where a few families monopolized knowledge and controlled power.

Drawing on the experience of mature Wizard Domains like Blue Realm, under the leadership of Jade Land, a completely new wizard training system that pays more attention to talent and effort was established.

Numerous brand-new Wizard Towers, each with different functions, sprang up all over the place like bamboo shoots after a rain; they were no longer private strongholds of any family but academies and research centers open to all qualified individuals.

All young people aspiring to the Wizard’s Road, regardless of background, must undergo strict and fair screening.

Talent, temperament, and perseverance became the most important evaluation standards.

Once selected, they could receive systemic training and maximum resource support based on their talent inclination.

Knowledge barriers were consciously broken down, basic magic and theory were made public, while high-level knowledge was obtained through contributions and achievements. A more open, vibrant, and fair wizard new era began to sprout and grow on the ruins of the Ancient Ruins.

The world, after the throes of pain, staggered back onto the path of peace and order.

…..

A few months later, deep in the Dark Forest.

The former ruins of the Shadow Tower had been mostly cleared. Amidst the broken walls and wreckage, a brand-new, simple yet grand black Tower stood majestically. It did not reuse the old name but was simply named “Wizard’s Tower,” symbolizing a new beginning and an open spirit.

Around the Tower, the previously desolate land was reorganized, with gardens, training grounds, and several auxiliary buildings emerging, brimming with vitality.

This day marked the first time the Wizard’s Tower publicly recruited apprentices from across the land of ruins. In the open space in front of the Tower, hundreds of boys and girls from various places, who had passed preliminary screening, gathered. Their faces bore the expressions of nervousness, excitement, and anticipation for the unknown, forming neat phalanxes.

A middle-aged Mystical Wizard with a calm demeanor, clad in a deep blue Magic Robe, hovered in the air, his voice clearly reaching each apprentice’s ears through magic:

“…Remember why you stand here today! The Wizard’s Road is not a shortcut to pursue power and authority, nor a delusion indulged in worldly pleasures. It is a quest for truth, full of thorns, requiring endless courage and wisdom!”

“We explore the essence of the world, unravel the threads of the rules, and seek the truth and eternity hidden behind all phenomena! This is the fundamental meaning of a wizard’s existence!”

“May you remember your original intentions, keep your feet on the ground, and not squander this hard-won opportunity and the hope of the era!”

The young apprentices looked up, their eyes bright as they etched these words deeply into their hearts. A new cycle thus began.

On the top floor of the Wizard’s Tower, on the spacious observation terrace.

Lynch sat quietly in a comfortable chair, a steaming cup of tea and the latest issue of the “Multiverse Wizardry Weekly” placed on a small round table by his side. He did not look at the newspaper but gazed warmly at the hopeful scene below.

A gentle breeze wafted through the forest, bringing the fresh scent of trees and grass. A vibrantly colored Forest Fairy Xia was happily riding on Parker’s back, spiraling joyfully around the Tower, scattering a string of silver bell-like laughter.

On the neatly groomed lawn not far away, Annie, who had returned to a peaceful life, was playing in the sunlight with her “friend” Frankenstein, who had been modified and now moved as smoothly and kindly as an ordinary person. Frankenstein clumsily but carefully took the garland Annie handed him, seemingly trying to put it on his head, his actions comical, making Annie giggle.

The corner of the newspaper was lightly lifted by the wind, and the headline on the front page caught the eye: “Farlan Alliance Law Enforcement Team Successfully Apprehends the Fleeing Black Wizard ’Soul Reaper’ Alfred; Evil Experiments Finally Ended.”

Lynch’s gaze swept over this news, showing no surprise, only a calmness of settled dust. He refocused his attention on the new faces, joyful companions, and the forest that had returned to peace below, the corners of his mouth unknowingly curving into a serene smile.

This hard-won peaceful scene was precisely what they had risked everything and paid a great price to guard.

“What are you smiling at?”

A gentle voice came from behind, carrying familiar warmth. Then, a pair of slender arms gently encircled his neck from behind, bringing with them a faint, reassuring fragrance.

Avery gently rested her chin on Lynch’s shoulder, also looking down in the direction of his gaze. A few playful strands of her flaxen hair fell, brushing against Lynch’s cheek.

Lynch didn’t look back; he just relaxed into her embrace, his smile deepening, his voice low and warm with reminiscence: “Nothing. Just… remembering how I used to be, just like them, still a naïve and curious little apprentice clueless about everything.”

Upon hearing this, Avery’s gaze drifted into the distance, as if traversing time to see that still somewhat green and stubborn young figure when they first met at the Shadow Tower. Her lips involuntarily curved into a gentle smile filled with reminiscence as she softly echoed:

“Yes indeed…”

“That really was a story from a long time ago.”

The breeze continued to blow, carrying the scent of hope, across the reconstructed Tower pinnacle, over the newly born apprentices, over everyone cherishing the present moment, gently dissipating to the forest beyond and to a broader world that has already turned a new page.
