Chapter 331: New Record
After the breakthrough, Xiang Yu summoned his system first to examine the changes before checking out the rest of his reset screen.
[Realm: Body: 29th Layer (10,000/29,000); Spirit: Core Formation 3rd Layer (80,000/130,000);]
[Spiritual Root: Divine-Grade Omni-Element (2500/10,000)]
[Chaos Body: Level 6 (500/6,000,000)]
He wasn’t as shocked to see his body refining advancement since he had sort of expected it. But for his spiritual root, he couldn’t believe it at all. This was really a pleasant surprise.
If not for the sudden breakthrough of his chaos body, his spiritual root would have broken through to divine grade and then remained stagnant for god knows how long.
But now, it was even better than ever before. Thanks to the two consecutive breakthroughs, with the second one being even more powerful than the first, he had been able to gain massive experience points for his spiritual root advancement. And so much experience at that.
With this amount of experience, he would probably break through to the heavenly rank in just two more resets. That would put him at about the same spiritual root and enlightenment level as Chapter one Li Yao, a true genius.
Feeling satisfied with the gains, he finally moved on to check out the rest of his reset stats.
He first noticed his transcendent dao body’s progress which had gained almost five thousand experience points in a single day. This completely obliterated his highest single-day record by a massive margin.
He had expected to beat his previous record but not by this much. The pure blood evolution had been really impressive to provide such a boost. He wondered if he could ever recreate something similar.
After the automatic doubling effect kicked in, his transcendent dao body was now sitting at twenty thousand experience points. Xiang Yu thought to himself that it was advancing even faster than ever before.
But now that it had reached this level, the minor daily increases probably wouldn’t matter much to his overall progress anymore. Still, he wasn’t saddened by this as it didn’t really matter in the long run. Even if he didn’t gain anything particularly significant from day-to-day training, with his current accumulated experience, he should be able to level up his transcendent dao body to level three in just one week.
His abyssal void flame had also almost reached ten thousand points. He estimated it would level up to the second grade in just three more resets. Xiang Yu didn’t know much about what benefits the level upgrade would bring, so he tried not to have overly high expectations. The void flame was already quite powerful as is.
It was even arguably the strongest weapon in his entire arsenal, though he had to admit he didn’t use it nearly enough in actual combat. Well, that was about to change as he was already working on developing new ways to make better use of it and not let such a powerful ability go to waste.
For his other techniques, the yin yang harmony divine ability had successfully entered the second level. There wasn’t much obvious change to how the technique functioned, not that he could easily tell since it already worked extremely well in its previous form. The changes he could recognize were some minor adjustments to how the technique functioned, plus several optimizations that reduced energy spending.
He especially appreciated this efficiency improvement, as this was one of his most expensive techniques to maintain during extended use. Another significant benefit he gained was an improved understanding of yin and yang principles. This was actually one of the key factors that had helped him unlock the yin yang domain in the first place.
His palm intent also broke through to the second level, boosting the effectiveness of all his palm-based techniques even more.
…
Moving on to his professions, nothing much had changed.
This was because most of his secondary professions had already advanced to the heavenly grade which was significantly harder to improve upon, requiring ten times the experience.
Still, the professions that had entered the heavenly grade earlier had made quite impressive progress. His cooking profession, for example, had reached six thousand experience points, putting it just one reset away from reaching the immortal grade.
Xiang Yu couldn’t wait to see what immortal grade food was like.It was just a pity that his spiritual root was too weak to actually taste them. Still, it would be an excellent addition to help his junior sister. If she could use immortal grade spirit food to break through to the void realm quickly, then they would have a much higher fighting chance.
Speaking of, he suddenly remembered that his spirit root had just broken through to the divine grade. This meant he could now handle divine rank food which included grades three through one.
He thought to himself that with access to this level of spirit food, he should be able to blitz through the core formation realm at an unprecedented pace. He might even be able to break through a minor realm every day like his junior sister back in the day.
He smiled. It was slow progress compared to real cultivation geniuses, but he was definitely catching up.
Xiang Yu sighed deeply, he wondered what the old monsters of the central continent were waiting for. There was no way they didn’t possess another immortal treasure, or even an actual immortal. So then what were they waiting for? Shouldn’t they be taking action to deal with the growing threat to the entire world? After all, it was because of them that they were in this situation in the first place.
Xiang Yu exhaled slowly to relax himself and clear his mind of these thoughts. Well, there was nothing he could do about it. In the end, it was always better to rely on his own strength rather than waiting for others to take action.
Another profession that was also progressing nicely was his appraisal. This one was about two resets away from upgrading to the next grade though he wasn’t particularly excited about that advancement. Appraisal was useful for understanding items and materials, but it didn’t directly contribute to his combat power or survival chances. Not to mention he had yet to come across items he couldn’t appraise yet.
As for the other professions that had already reached heavenly grade, Xiang Yu just glanced at them and sighed.
Both medicine and spirit farming had broken through to the second grade. Xiang Yu couldn’t wait to use his growth booster 6.0, especially now that he had upgraded his spiritual vein to the heavenly grade. His wood clone was already on it.
The researcher profession was also picking up pace and had just broken through to the third grade during the day. He had now received the complete insights from that advancement.
Xiang Yu waved his hand dismissively, closing the system screen.
He thought to himself that these daily resets were getting crazier and crazier each day. He could hardly believe that he had celebrated doubling his knife technique experience for the first time just three months ago.
He stood up and did some stretches.
After loosening up his muscles, he sat back down and refocused his mind. He thought to himself that it was now time to work on developing new combat techniques. He needed to come up with a combat ability that would allow him to use his void flame more effectively in actual battles.
Another thing he needed to complete was fusing the other techniques he had recently perfected. Yesterday he had been too busy and had completely forgotten about this. Luckily, he now possessed heavenly level enlightenment so he should be able to make up for the missed experience.
