Chapter 454: Mystic Ability
With the now god-grade soul flame, Xiang Yu felt his efficiency for secondary professions had reached a whole new level.
He checked his other stats, focusing on the divine abilities.
Xiang Yu felt that although they were improving and receiving optimizations, they still weren’t at the level he needed them to be. At the moment, all these abilities felt as though they were becoming obsolete.
Well, this was mostly true because at the moment, he just needed laws to do something, not needing the ability itself.
After some thought, Xiang Yu came up with a solution. Instead of relying on the abilities themselves, which was quite inefficient, needing time to train and also being useless since they were weaker than the laws, he decided to come up with something else.
He activated his enlightenment state and began research.
The best way to avoid the abilities becoming obsolete was to make them as powerful as his current law abilities. Usually, this would be hard, but since he had all the laws the abilities were based on, he just had to link them such that they drew upon the power of law directly and not just his base power.
For the yin-yang harmony, he just linked it to the yin-yang law. For the void palm, he linked it to the void law. For the heal ability, he linked it to the law of life. But after some thought, he decided not to base it on that since he was unable to use this law effectively in the real world.
In the end, he decided to have it be based off the law of immortality. It was somewhat similar to the law of life, so he didn’t think he was losing out by much.
Now was just the elemental clone ability.
He didn’t have the exact law to link to, so he decided to discover it first. Using the enlightened state, he focused on the ability and how it worked. He also studied the already made clones inside the realm of six heavens.
A few minutes later, he saw it.
“Thousand bodies law.” That was the law that the elemental clone ability was compatible with.
He remembered seeing something like this somewhere. “The Sage,” he thought. She had the “thousand bodies dao body.” He wondered if she also had clones. If this was the case, he needed to be even more serious with the Sage.
If he managed to kill her and she just reincarnated again into one of her thousands of bodies, it would be really troublesome. He added this to his note of things to pay attention to.
Anyway, now that he had linked all the abilities to a law, it was time to finalize the abilities. He slowly began rewriting the abilities, solidifying their base such that they would be built upon the matching laws rather than being separate abilities.
Now that he thought about it, he didn’t have an efficient way of using his law power. Although it worked well as is, finding a way of utilizing it more efficiently would be great.
It would also allow him to use two or more laws without conflict.
After a few minutes, the rewrite was done.
“From now on, I’ll call this type of ability a mystic ability.” It was an ability without growth potential. Well, not in the traditional sense. The way the ability worked was by utilizing the power of the law it was based on to do things.
As long as the law advanced, the ability would also advance to match it. This meant that it would always reflect his complete law mastery. And this didn’t just stop at laws – when he upgraded the concept, like his time law became time dao, the mystic ability would advance to match that.
…
After finishing up with the mystic ability creation, he moved on to the professions.
This time, his cook and truth seeker had finally caught up to each other, both gaining half required exp and advancing to the sage realm.
With the sage realm truth seeker, he could actually stay in his enlightened state all day long with no cooldown. Seeing as this was the case, he instantly reactivated the ability. Since he could use it all the time, there was no need to not use it.
Now he was stuck in a state of sage level enlightenment all day long.
He then turned to his cook profession. After all the cooking he had done, he was now in the sage realm.
Since he already had sage qi, he could get started on cooking sage level food. Speaking of, he waved his hand and the Empress appeared in front of him. With his power now, he could even summon the Empress from Li Yao’s spiritual sea. Thɪs chapter is updated by N0veI.Fiɾe.net
He suddenly paused – he had almost forgotten about his wife. He needed to…
[Why did you summon me?] the Empress asked.
“I made sage grade food. This should be enough for you to advance to eternal soul level, right?” he asked, tossing her a spatial ring.
She caught it and her mouth widened when she scanned what was within. She then had a sad expression. “Yeah, it should be enough…” she said before disappearing.
He thought to himself that before, the Empress just cared about upgrading her soul, but now, she didn’t seem that interested. He shook his head and his attention returned to the reset screen.
“Hmmm, why do I feel like I’m forgetting something… ah, it’s probably not even that important anyway,” he thought, continuing to inspect his stats.
Nothing much had changed for the rest of his professions. They were all still in the god realm and still far from the halfway point, at least in the reset that is. He closed the reset and summoned his system screen.
The professions seemed to have already advanced to past the halfway point. They might even advance to sage level before the end of the day.
As he was observing the status screen, he noticed something he had missed before.
[Battle Instinct: God (100,000e10/100,000e10)]
He looked at the stat. He hadn’t expected to see it again – he had almost forgotten about it to be honest.
Battle instinct, just like before, focused on battle experience, helping him make the best possible moves in battle. Even so, he didn’t think it was all that impressive. Everything it could do, he could recreate it with his complete laws.
Besides, it seemed to be stuck once again. For it to be useful at the moment, it’d have to be at the sage or dao realm.
He sighed and closed the system screen.
