Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 413: Mortality

Chapter 413: Mortality

“Not at all.” Rael shook his head, his expression serious. “I believe that’s a very noble reason.”

Silas nodded, the air around him turning slightly softer.

“I apologize for the rant. It’s just been a very long time since I’ve shared this story with anyone,” he said.

“Did you get revenge on the people who did this to you?” Rael asked calmly.

“Indeed.” Silas smiled. “After I evolved, the first thing that I did was kill all the higher-ups of the Hollow Kingdom. It was very simple to the point I began to wonder how we lost to such a disorganized kingdom in the first place.”

“I see… well, I’m glad you were able to get rid of them,” Rael said plainly. “But as for your wish of mortality, I believe I can grant it. But in exchange, I want you to promise that you will hand over the Kingdom of Aurenthia to me.”

The moment Rael finished his words, deathly silence ensued. But it was clear that Silas was about to attack him; after all, mana had already begun gathering in his fist.

But right as Silas vanished from sight and appeared before him, Rael dodged at the very last moment, triggering his skill.

<[Phase] has been triggered!>

<Your next attack deals 300% more damage>

He reappeared behind Silas, and before he could even realize what was happening, Rael threw a plasma-infused fist straight at Silas’s abdomen, blasting out a giant hole.

-1% [218.54 Quadrillion] | Critical Hit!

“Hmm?” Rael tilted his head in confusion. “You’re not only a demon, but you’re also some light-based race as well?”

If he wasn’t, then Rael wouldn’t have done nearly as much damage as he had now.

But despite the powerful attack, Silas healed in less than a second, then proceeded to throw several punches at Rael, all of which he dodged effortlessly.

Silas wasn’t going all out, but neither was Rael. Frankly, if they went any further, the palace and the rest of the kingdom would go to shit.

After all, Rael had to hold back quite a lot by punching Silas.

Yet when it seemed like their fighting would continue, Silas halted, grabbing Rael’s fist directly.

Rael’s eyes widened, and before he could even react or dodge, he was sent flying through the roof of the palace with a hole in his chest.

[HP -33%! | Vitality: Tier 7 [67% / 100% HP]

God… this is so annoying, Rael thought, suspending himself in midair and quickly healing all the injuries.

And as the fight was about to resume, Rael summoned his Dimensional Shop, making Silas crash directly into it.

“Alright, dumbass,” Rael said, pointing at the door. “Buy a race change token.”

Of course, if the shop didn’t sell something like that, Rael could always just add Silas to his friends list and gift him the human race, similar to how he gifted Lilith her bloodline.

However, the sudden appearance of the shop halted Silas, and with great hesitation, he proceeded to open the shop and search through it.

Not even a moment later, a literal golden token appeared in his palm.

He turned toward Rael and raised a brow. “Is this a joke? It cost me 1 Billion Trell.”

“And I thank you for your patronage,” Rael replied cheekily. “But no, it’s not a joke. Go ahead and use it. Though I’m pretty sure there’s going to be an extra cost when you want to change races.”

After all, that was how his evolution skill worked.

Silas hummed in confusion and then broke the token in his palm. Not even a moment later, his eyes widened in shock.

“Dragon? Angel? Titan? What is this thing?” Silas scrolled through the interface. “They’re all so expensive… but the human race is free?”

No shit. It’s the default of all defaults, Rael thought with a chuckle.

And right as he had that thought, Silas raised his hand and tapped the air. In the next instant, mana began gathering around him at a rapid rate.

It felt as if an explosion was going to be set off; therefore, Rael grabbed Silas by the hair and spun in a circle. Then, like an Olympian athlete, Rael threw Silas into the sky, right at the crimson moon.

Yet he wasn’t able to fly that far, as just two seconds later, Silas’s body began to swell up, fierce mana permeating the air. The eyeballs that had been plaguing Silas started spewing out of his mouth, then turning to dust.

Space seemed to twist around him, and as the last of the eyeballs left his body, Silas began to fall from the sky, the crimson moon illuminating his figure.

Rael waited a bit, making sure Silas wasn’t going to explode, and then, with a single step, he arrived in front of Silas, grabbed him, then dashed toward the ground, landing right beside the palace.

Silas seemed to have passed out, and when Rael inspected him, he saw some key differences.

—Silas Gernot [Grade 4 Duke Class | Level 97] – Vitality: Tier 8 [44% / 100% HP]

Although his grade and level hadn’t changed, his Vitality went from Tier 11 to Tier 8. At this point, a single attack would be enough to kill him.

But since Rael was such a nice guy, he would refrain from doing so.

Also… he seems so weak now. Burger, is this normal? Rael asked.

[Mmm… It’s not normal, but it does make sense. His strength came from being whatever creature he was before turning back to a human. So now that his main source of strength is gone, he’s basically a normal human,] Burger replied right away. [However, I’m sure the majority of his strength would return once he’s settled into being human.]

That makes sense. Rael nodded with a sigh. At least, if he’s not open to giving me Aurenthia on peaceful terms, I could always take it by force.

With those thoughts in mind, Rael decided to do a little something.

<Ding!>

<A powerful target is sleeping nearby.>

<Do you wish to enter their Dreams? Yes / No>
