Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 463: The Birb

Chapter 463: The Birb

“You…” Vatyra mumbled, clenching her fists. “You made that decision, you selfish bastard…”

A massive wave of fiery mana suddenly erupted from her body, nearly burning Rael to a crisp. But thanks to his superior regeneration, he survived.

Just in case, he backed off, not wanting to be sandwiched between two powerhouses if they started fighting.

But it seemed like his worries were soon put to rest as Chronos, alongside Minos, stepped forward, emitting their own energy to cancel out Vatyra’s mana.

“Pfft… Hahaha!” Vatyra burst out laughing, clutching her face. “Always on the defense. Even when my husband and your daughter fought fair and square in your succession trial, you chose to kill him. Why? Tell me, Zarkul.”

She raised her head with a sadistic look.

“Tell me, in front of all these people… Why are you such a hypocrite?”

With that, she lunged forward, causing the entire continent to explode beneath her. Rael’s body was incinerated instantly, leaving him no chance to react.

This time, not even his regeneration could help.

His vision began to fade in an instant, but he knew he would come back. After all, he had a few life-saving skills.

And as those thoughts fell, the pop-ups appeared.

<Ding!>

To his surprise, the pop-ups began to flow in reverse as, bit by bit, his body began to reconstruct. At the same time, the continent that had been blown up in a single step was restored.

The pain was still vivid, and it came pretty close to the volcano planet explosion. But despite that…

He felt fine again, and so did Melina, who had turned pale once again.

Yet no one paid attention to the two of them and instead, Chronos stepped forward and spoke.

“I’d suggest you two tone it down a notch. I can only rewind time so many times before I run out of mana.”

“You’re a lifesaver,” Evelyn said with a smile, giving Rael a nod.

Yet that was the end of the pleasantries as the powerful beings went back to bickering once again.

“Your husband tried to kill my daughter outside of the trial,” Zarkul stated. “There is always a grace period where they eat and rest. It’s considered a sacred place where no fighting should happen. Yet your husband broke that rule, and that’s why I had no choice but to kill him.”

Vatyra scoffed, but right as she was about to answer, Kareth stepped forward with an annoyed expression.

“I brought you all here to help me, not ruin everything. First of all, Zarkul, the rule is bullshit, but since it is in place, I’ll allow it.”

Then, he turned toward Vatyra.

“As for you… I’m not telling you to get over it, but it’s been nearly 15 billion years, Vatyra. We weren’t as wise as we are now. So if either of you still respect me, take this conflict to the Supreme Arena. But only after my trial is done.”

With that, he didn’t even wait for an answer as he nodded at Melina.

“Malinali Liesa. Although this is not the outcome I expected, you pass. I’ll give you a special prize after this is over and done with. For now, you may take Rael’s seat.”

He gestured for Rael to stand up, and then he pointed at the banged-up makeshift arena that still had thousands of constructs laid out flat on their asses.

Rael shrugged. He wasn’t exactly ready, but there really wasn’t a solid way to get ready against these powerhouses. One strike was all it took to kill him after al..

Therefore, he walked to the center where Melina was still stunned and tapped her on the shoulder.

“Congrats. Take the constructs along with you, by the way. I’m not really big on killing them,” Rael said.

Melina snapped out of it immediately. “Shit… Yeah. I still can’t believe he let me off so easily.”

“I doubt it’s that simple,” Rael chuckled. “Pretty sure you might have to go on a little trip with Zarkul after this. Anyhow, shoo.”

Melina rolled her eyes at his shooing gesture and snapped her fingers, causing all the constructs to immediately shoot up to their feet and run away.

Of course, they were headed back to work.

Nonetheless…

“Rael Sutekh,” Kareth called out. “Despite what just happened, you are given the same choice. Pick whichever one of us you wish to fight.”

“About that…” Rael scratched his cheek, looking over all of the Supreme Monsters.

“I was thinking of fighting all of you, actually.”

Kareth raised a brow in surprise. “You were? You should know that’s not necessary.”

“Yep.” Rael chuckled. “I was just thinking that if I were to fight all of you here, then your pride wouldn’t allow yourselves to not give me anything special. Of course, that’s only if I beat you.”

“Pfft…” Evelyn held back a laugh as she wiped a single tear from the corner of her eye.

“I see. Fine. Some gifts are never enough for those who are too ambitious. Very well. If you fight me and defeat me, I shall teach you how to create a mental barrier. It would make it so your Mental Integrity doesn’t go down nearly as quickly as it does now.”

She smiled. “But I’m not a physical fighter, Rael. We will fight in the Mind Realm, as you might expect.”

Rael nodded, and then turned toward the others.

Vatyra, in particular, was very excited.

“You want to fight all of us? Hah… Good. Very good. I did want someone to take my anger out on, and you just happened to step up,” Vatyra said, calming herself down and shooting him a confident smirk.

“Filthy dragon, if you beat me, then I will personally teach you my footwork. But since that’s not going to happen, prepare to die instead.”
