Chapter 475: Time Bonk
When Rael reopened his eyes, he was met with a single figure in front of him, standing in the same place he had been when time was first frozen.
It was none other than Chronos, who finally blinked, indicating that the frozen time had now resumed.
And because of that, Rael felt a rush of mana hit him, and it seemed like he didn’t need to wonder for long as all of a sudden, he saw a single lovely pop-up.
<Law of Time (Supreme) – 15.1% Mastery>
<Description: A Supreme-tier Fundamental Law representing the dominion over the flow of Time itself. At this stage, your control is unstable, and the Law manifests in subtle distortions around you.>
<Supreme Effects>
Time Control efficiency: +50% (Total: +75%)
↳ Maximum Time Domain Radius: 17,522 meters
↳ Time Domain Passive: Within your domain, enemies experience 25% reduced reaction time. In turn, your movement speed within your domain is increased by 2x.
↳ Primordial Sight – Foresight has been upgraded!
Foresight: See 2 → 5 seconds into the future. Toggle ON/OFF
↳ Special 10% Mastery Effect – Time Regression: Rewind time exactly 24 hours. May be used once every 60 days.
<Notice: Time Regression counts as absolute regression, and will not leave any remnants behind.>
Finally… Rael smiled. I thought that my efforts were in vain, but thankfully not. Now I can…
His eyes finally reached the bottom of the effects, causing them to widen.
I can turn back time by 24 hours? Seriously? Rael wondered in amazement. So if something really shitty happens, I can completely avert it. Yep. This is just a little overpowered.
Before he could continue fangirling over the Law of Time, he heard a cough from in front of him. When he turned toward it, he was met with Chronos’s stern look.
“I see you broke out successfully,” Chronos said. “You spent… Hm… Not nearly as much time as I had expected. I thought you would be in there for at least two hundred years.”
“Haha…” Rael scratched his cheek. “Did I pass?”
Chronos nodded slowly, but right as he was about to answer, his eyes widened slightly.
“Satiate my curiosity, but how exactly did you escape the frozen world?”
“Hm? I just expanded my Time Domain to match whatever radius your domain was. I fused them together and absorbed them back into my body. Why?” Rael replied with a tilt of his head.
Chronos’s brows twitched. “So you’re telling me you didn’t find the Time Remnant I had left behind as a clue for you. Is that right?”
“Time what now?” Rael mumbled. “No. I didn’t find anything in the first month of being there, so I went back to my original idea. But hey, clearly it worked, didn’t it?”
The Supreme Monsters off to the side couldn’t even utter a single word as they stared at Rael in shock. Even Vatyra, who was usually the hotheaded rude bird, was speechless.
The only ones who didn’t know what was happening were Melina and, well, Rael.
But soon enough, Chronos took a few steps forward and patted Rael on the shoulder.
“You’ve reached a level that I hadn’t intended for you…” Chronos explained. “You needed to gather the Time Remnants and then break out of the Time Domain by using them.”
“…?”
“My bad?” Rael said plainly. “How exactly would that have taken two hundred years? Finding something and then using it to break out is pretty simple, no?”
“It is difficult because you would have needed to fight a remnant of yourself at your strongest. Only after conquering that remnant would you have been able to use its powers… But you seem to have found a loophole, and while I would normally scold you, what you have done is impressive in its own right, and arguably harder than what I had set out for you to do.”
“You pass. I was going to test your strength again, but…” Chronos looked him up and down. “There’s no need for that now. I will have a chat with you if you survive against the others. But for now, cherish your achievement.”
With that, he walked back toward the other Supreme Monsters.
In the meantime, Rael let out a sigh. He did look around for a while, but he definitely didn’t find any kind of remnant. If anything, his fight against Solenne was the same as what this guy was trying to make him do.
So in the end, Rael sucked it up and waited for the announcement.
Kareth finally snapped out of it and stood up, giving Chronos his seat. He walked toward Rael, a faint smile on his face. Nᴇw ɴovel chaptᴇrs are published on novel•fire.net
“You will have the Law of Time in no time at this rate. Good job,” Kareth praised.
Rael tilted his head.
“I already have it though?”
’…You do?’ Kareth’s surprise returned. “H-Hold on a second.”
He turned his gaze over to Chronos, who shrugged in response.
“He does indeed have it. It’s still a very low mastery, but I believe he has the power to turn back time to a certain extent. That should be the bare minimum for that Law,” Chronos replied with a chuckle. “Despite that, he can’t utilize it as proficiently as one might expect. Though that alone is grounds for turning him into a conste—”
“AAAH! Shut up!” Vatyra cut him off. “We can’t! He’s way too weak to become one!”
“I agree,” Evelyn chimed in with a nod. “He may have the qualities, but he doesn’t have the strength or authority. But I’m also slightly worried about what’ll happen once he becomes one.”
While they were arguing about whatever that was, Rael fell into deep thought.
Conste? Rael mused. Burger? Any ideas?
[Hold on… You came out with like a gazillion boring memories. I’m trying to filter them all out now,] Burger replied.
But right as Rael was about to complain, another voice resounded inside his mind, one he wasn’t exactly expecting to hear.
[They are talking about Constellations,] Gaia said in a gentle tone.
