Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 640: Arrival

Chapter 640: Arrival

Rael hummed to himself and woke Lilith up.

“We’re here,” he announced.

In front of him was a massive capital, with black walls that extended up to the clouds and millions of guards stationed all around the wall.

Clearly, not just anyone could get in.

Rael was worried for a second that Elizabeth was going to pull something here.

But instead, as they approached the checkpoint, Elizabeth was fairly… nice?

“Send word to father that his long-lost daughter has returned with a husband,” she said. “The faster you send that message, the more money I will give you when you return.”

When the guard heard that, he glanced at his comrades.

This offer wasn’t only to him but also to everyone around him.

And so, when they all finally clocked the stakes, they dashed straight into the city through the massive gate and ran toward a castle that Rael could just barely see through the gap.

“As for those of you who are left, let us through now, thank you,” Elizabeth added.

They were clearly curious about who the long-lost daughter was.

After all, Rael could tell that the Demon King slept around.

So maybe one of those would come back.

Anyhow, he was sure Lilith was the last thing on their minds.

And so, they were escorted through a gate and into the city.

The city was surprisingly advanced.

Rael could see holograms after holograms. There were even a few flying carriages and multiple billboards scattered all around, advertising all sorts of products.

But there were also a bit of the casual medieval-style buildings.

He was a bit curious why they stuck to those types of buildings, and as if reading his mind, Lilith chimed in.

“The Demon King believes firmly that if the demons get used to comfort, they’ll become lazy. That’s why we have old houses, and the majority of us sleep on the floor.”

Rael tilted his head. “We didn’t sleep on the floor, though?”

Lilith shook her head.

“No, we didn’t. The Demon King also firmly believes that if you have enough achievements and have endured just about enough, you can live in luxury.”

She then pointed at one corner of the city, and after glancing there, Rael spotted a modern mansion.

It didn’t fit the aesthetic here at all, but clearly, if her words were anything to go by, this mansion was a reward for all the hard work that demon had done.

“Is that really it?” Rael asked.

Lilith nodded. “It really is. Some of us also eat bad food just so we’d have enough drive to strive for better food. It’s a pretty barbaric system, in my opinion.”

Elizabeth clicked her tongue. “You’re calling father’s wisdom barbaric?”

“Isn’t it?” Lilith tilted her head. “Let’s be honest here… Sister, you had a bed to sleep on the moment you were born. Have you ever done anything that would make you deserve that? And I’m not talking about seducing powerful men. You’re not the only one who can do that.”

Her brows twitched in anger.

“Sister… I have been in countless wars and racked up numerous achievements. A warm bed is the least that father could reward me with.”

“The same achievements that you stole from your brothers?” Lilith giggled. “Yes, I remember that, sister. When our brothers came back and started listing their achievements, you picked the less noteworthy ones and introduced them to father.”

“After that, you went as far as to plead to father that your brothers were lying, especially when they tried to refute your claims… So tell me, sister. Did you really ever do anything?”

Damn.

Rael really felt like a round two of the cat fight was about to begin.

He might actually have to step in this time.

But he didn’t need to as the carriage finally stopped.

“We have arrived right beside the grand castle! You may now step out!”

The coach driver seemed way too eager.

But even so, the three of them put aside their differences and stepped out of the carriage.

At a glance, Elizabeth looked like royalty, while Lilith and Rael were like slaves.

But that was only because he didn’t go all out on his outfit.

He just bought some cheap shit for 200 Trell.

Each.

“Do you still remember etiquette, Lilith?” Elizabeth asked out of nowhere.

“Etiquette? Sure. I remember a little bit. Why, sister? Are you planning to embarrass me in front of father?” Lilith replied.

Elizabeth shrugged. “I’m merely concerned my sister will disappoint father more than she had all those years ago.”

That was a very low blow.

But since Lilith didn’t react to it, Rael decided to not say anything either.

A few crimson soldiers walked up to them and flashed their strange crimson skull insignias.

“The Demon King has ordered the three of you to enter the grand castle. Refusal is not an option.”

It wasn’t like they were planning to refuse.

Rather, Rael didn’t feel the need to refuse when he felt the powerful presence from inside the castle.

It was the Demon King, and there were several others who were really powerful too.

They weren’t on the level of the Supreme Monsters, but they were really damn close.

However, the Demon King was powerful enough to rival the Supreme Monsters. Rather, Rael was certain that if Zarkul and the Demon King were to fight, the winner of their fight would be hard to guess.

Nonetheless, the three of them were escorted into the grand castle.

And it really was grand.

There was golden jewelry, and all sorts of diamond, platinum, and other artifacts lying around.

There were even paintings that Rael could recognize from his old world.

It looked like the Demon King was some sort of a collector.

Rael chuckled inwardly and nudged Lilith.

“Did you prepare a speech?”

Lilith shook her head.

“I don’t have a speech. I’m just going to introduce myself and show off a little.”

Hmm…

That might or might not backfire.

Rael really hoped it wouldn’t.

After just a few more minutes of wandering the spacious and luxurious halls, the three of them arrived in front of a large door.

It was the door to the throne room.

And behind it was the Demon King and his powerful subordinates.
