Chapter 732: Slumber Goddess
<Ding!>
Staring at the pleasant sight, Rael didn’t hesitate for even a second to press on it.
<Ding!>
<…>
<Ding!>
For a moment, it looked like the perk had broken, but Rael was glad that it didn’t.
After all, with so much money at his disposal, Rael was curious just what kind of Spirit Companion he could get.
But of course, he wasn’t stupid either.
•—Balance: 4,887,074,102 Premium Coins—•
Similarly to the Premium Roulette, Rael decided to first hop into the Prophetic Realm and begin testing all sorts of money inputs, starting with the lowest and going up to 5 Billion Premium Coins, which he could get after simply collecting his Dimensional Shop earnings.
Surprisingly, the money input had been adjusted quite a fair deal, so now, if Rael were to give only something like 1 million Trell, he would get either a Lesser Spirit or a regular Spirit.
Either way, him getting a Spirit King for 1 billion Trell was definitely not possible anymore.
But for a whopping 1 Trillion Trell, he could get himself a Higher Spirit.
That was a rank for the Spirit under Spirit King.
To put it into perspective, that would cost 1,000 Premium Coins.
Basically, chump change.
Yet for a Spirit King, Rael would need to dish out 100,000 Premium Coins, and more importantly, for a Spirit Emperor, Rael would need to dish out 10,000,000 Premium Coins.
By default, that was very expensive.
But it wasn’t expensive to the point where Rael couldn’t afford it.
Though, the one thing he was looking for was beyond Spirit Emperor.
1,000,000,000 Premium Coins.
That’s how much it took to break Rael’s Prophetic Realm.
Obviously, that’s also how much it took to get whatever cost that much in the first place.
Rael tried tweaking with the price a little, but it seemed like no matter what he did, 1 billion Premium Coins really was the breaking point for this.
And so, with that in mind, Rael left the Prophetic Realm and stared at the pop-up telling him to input money.
He was a little nervous, truthfully.
What if, by investing that much money, he actually broke his whole system?
Well…
<Ding!>
Haha.
Even the system was calling him an idiot.
But even so, Rael went ahead and pressed “Yes.”
In an instant, his vision turned dark, yet he could still feel like he was in the same place as before.
Though, that feeling lasted only a few seconds, until his senses faded as well.
For a few seconds after that, Rael felt like he was just floating in an infinite void, until eventually, he regained his senses and landed atop a shallow pool of water.
Glancing up, Rael was met with a pale white moon and thousands of purple flowers scattered all around, including a very familiar piano.
Rael knew exactly where he was, and after glancing off to the side, he saw the person he had been looking for.
A woman with long purple hair and sapphire-blue eyes.
“Nyx? To what do I owe this visit?”
Nyx stared at him for a few moments, then let out a chuckle.
“I should be the one asking you. I was sleeping when all of a sudden someone called out to me. I wasn’t going to answer, but when I realized it was you, I couldn’t help it.”
She approached him, stopping just a few meters before him.
“Though, I see you’ve gotten a bit stronger. Why haven’t you contacted me? Did you forget all about me?”
Rael stared at her for a moment, then deadpanned:
“I kind of did… yes. I don’t remember the last time I actually slept, so… Yeah. Anyways, what are you doing here?”
She shrugged.
“You called for a powerful God, so I appeared to make a contract with you.”
Rael tilted his head.
“I called for a Spirit. Are you a Spirit?”
Nyx raised a brow.
“Not particularly, no. Must I be a spirit for you to form a contract with me? Is the Goddess of Slumber not enough for someone as mighty as you, Rael?”
Honestly?
He was fine with this, but he kind of expected some kind of Higher God to appear and become his familiar.
But seeing how this was likely the limit, Rael let out a sigh.
Was a Spirit Emperor better than Nyx?
He wasn’t sure.
She was also Grade 10, and an Ancient Primordial much like the ones he had fought with… and easily killed.
As if sensing his unease, Nyx said:
“Don’t worry, I’m much more powerful than those Spirit Emperors you fought against. The universe personally gave me a title, after all.”
“Hmm… Before that, do Spirit Gods really exist?” Rael asked.
“How would I know? I’m not a Spirit,” Nyx replied. “Though if I had to guess, probably not? No one owns the universe. I don’t think anyone owns a large Realm, if I’m being honest.”
She put a hand over her lips.
“No one controls the Void Realm either, so… Yeah. I don’t think there’s a Spirit God. At most, I believe there are Spirit Emperors who have taken the role of a Spirit God.”
“I see…” Rael said, then met her gaze. “Contract-wise, won’t you just sleep all the time? I’m better off getting a pet sloth.”
The moment he said those words, she stared at him as if he had called her fat.
“Excuse me…? Pet sloth? Do you think all I do is eat and sleep?”
Rael didn’t respond.
Instead, he simply whistled to himself.
Nyx’s brow twitched as she suddenly stepped forward and grabbed him by the collar.
“Form a contract with me, and I’ll show you what I do.”
