Capítulo 812: Entering The Far Lands
“Is this your first time here?” Rael asked.
Alune glanced back at him and sniffled slightly.
“No… but I don’t visit this place often. This smell irritates my nose, and I’m already sick, so I feel like I’m going to vomit.”
“Anything I can help with?” Rael asked. “I’m pretty good at healing, and if anything, I—”
“It’s fine,” she interjected.
Then she let out a sigh.
“It’s not a normal sickness. Rather, I was born with an overly sickly physique. My body can’t handle the amount of power I have, and so it starts trying to rip me apart to make room for more.”
“On the bright side, every time this happens, my mana increases by several dozenfold, and my muscles go through so much tension that the rest of my stats increase too. The downside is that I basically have two periods per month.”
Oof.
Rael was definitely not expecting to hear that.
He glanced over at Gaia, looking for some input. However, she was firmly locked onto some place in the distance. Once he followed her gaze, Rael caught sight of some kind of dark creature staring back at them.
It resembled a dragon, but more like a giant wingless lizard. Either way, the lizard’s power was a mystery to Rael, since even with his primordial sight, the most he could see was its name.
—Luther, The Destroyer of Gardens [Grade ??? ??? Class | Level ???] – Vitality: Tier 100 (MAX) [100% / 100% HP]
Though…
The Destroyer of Gardens?
Rael couldn’t help but spit on the floor upon seeing that shit of a title.
It was even worse than his initial Platinum Overlord title.
Anyhow, Rael was sure whatever garden Luther was destroying, he was doing a good job at it.
“Is it an enemy?” Rael asked.
Gaia paused for a moment, then shook her head.
“It doesn’t seem like it. I’ve not seen him around before, so I don’t think he’s an Ancient Primordial. However, he is pretty powerful.”
If he was powerful even by Gaia’s standards, then oh boy…
“That’s Luther. He was my family’s butler a few years ago. He means you no harm, I promise,” Alune chimed in.
At her words, both Rael and Gaia turned toward her.
She sniffled and smirked at them.
“We have had some powerful connections. Luther only came here because he had served his purpose for my family. In a way, it’s not that we tossed him out, but rather that we set him free.”
That sounded pretty much the same.
But oh well, Rael never claimed to be an expert.
“So what’s Luther’s role here?”
“Guard, presumably. He should be guarding one of the minor cities. As for beyond that, the capital is guarded by very powerful beings whose souls are tied down to this realm,” Alune replied.
A shiver ran down Rael’s spine when he realized just how many powerful beings there really were.
But in the end, the reason he came here was simple.
“System lad, or whoever you are who talks back to me, I’m in the Far Lands. Whistle loudly and I’ll come fetch you.”
<…>
Rael rolled his eyes.
“You made me come out so far, so my dignity’s already ruined. Just show me where to go now.”
<…>
The message was different from before, and it even had a different tone.
For one, Rael knew that the person who was replying to him was actually just being a sassy little knob.
But sassy knob or not, Rael decided to let that person be, as he just needed to ask around and find someone who could point him toward the Supreme Beast’s final location. That was probably where he’d find his guardian.
Alas…
“Do you want to meet up with Luther?” Rael asked.
Alune shook her head.
“We chat quite frequently. Plus, I told him I’d visit him in a few weeks with Father, so he’s waiting until that day. Today, we’re here off the record.”
“Right…”
Rael turned to Gaia.
“Feel anything?”
“No. But the mana here is much more dense than even in my Yggdrasil realm. It’s really impressive. It’s a pity I overlooked the possibility of speed limitations, especially when the answer was clearly inside your head already,” she replied.
Rael shrugged.
“You can’t always be the smartest person in the room or something. Anyhow, we should probably head straight to the capital, right?”
Alune nodded.
“Yes. If we go now, we might be able to arrive there in a few hours.”
Even at light speed?
Damn.
As if sensing his thoughts, Alune suddenly raised her hand.
“No going above 100 times the speed of light. If you do, you’ll be kicked out of the Far Lands and tossed into some random corner of the Void Realm. If you get tossed into the Abyss, you’re as good as dead.”
Abyss?
That was a new one.
“Is the Abyss also a realm?”
“It’s a place inside the Void Realm where time and matter don’t exist. So while it might exist inside the Void Realm, it’s technically a realm by itself,” Gaia chimed in.
Both Rael and Alune nodded at Gaia’s words.
And finally, since they all got their curiosity off their chests, it was finally time to move ahead.
Since Rael didn’t know where to go, he decided to let Alune take the lead. Instead, she went ahead and jumped on his shoulders, and then, while holding firmly onto his short hair, she pointed ahead.
“That way. Be careful not to drop me.”
“Aren’t you a bit too comfortable?” Rael mumbled.
Alune sniffled.
“I’m sick. So move, as this will be the first and only time I will ever sit on your shoulders.”
Rael let out a sigh at her words and nodded at Gaia.
Then he kicked off the air and moved ahead. He passed by Luther, who just stared at them, and with that, Rael decided to just mindlessly follow the mischievous Alune’s instructions.
