Capítulo 862: Arrival of Gaia

After literally four minutes, Rael found himself in the center of the fifth floor, and for some reason, none of the women were here yet. He was starting to get a little worried when all of a sudden, Gaia stepped through, looking as beautiful as ever.

Once she spotted him, she gave him a slight nod.

“It’s really been a while, huh? How long has it been for you?”

Rael thought over it for a moment, then sighed.

“Less than a day. I guess it might’ve been like 18 hours? Maybe?”

She let out a chuckle. “Yeah… For us, it’s been nearly a decade. After you disappeared, things quieted down slightly. But the war progressed the same. As it so happens, fighting a war with numbers like ours was way too simple, so after just a year or two, I managed to deal with every single being who was against us.”

Then, she approached him, stopping right before him.

“The Divine Realm is gone, Solenne’s army is gone, all of the 12 heroes are gone… Every single person who has ever been against us is now either dead or captured. The only person we have left to kill is Lucien, and I take it he’s nowhere near here, is he?”

Rael stared at her for a moment before finally shaking his head. He was reminded of just how mature and smart she was. Not only that, when need be, she was incredibly ruthless, and that was why he kind of had a soft spot for her inside his heart.

Despite that, Rael bottled his feelings up and then tapped her on the shoulder before suddenly leaning in for a hug. She surprisingly didn’t push him away, and instead, she hugged him back.

He wasn’t sure why he was doing this… After all, they were the ones who spent a decade away from him. For him, it was less than a day. He was really acting like a child now.

And he was sure his reaction would be even worse when Zafira and Lilith finally appeared.

Speaking of, he really wondered just how much the two of them had changed. After all, Lilith was supposed to only train for a year, since she was supposedly in a rush. However, after he vanished, she likely spent longer.

As for Zafira… Under the training of Melissa, Anubis, and even Jane, she must’ve gotten significantly more powerful as well.

In the end, Rael decided to just wait here for a bit and just hope that the first thing Zafira and Lilith did wasn’t to slap the shit out of him for leaving them.

Though… The hug was lasting a little longer than he was expecting, to the point where Rael decided to do something a little more frisky.

He took a step back, then suddenly grabbed her by her thighs and lifted her up. As she sat down on his forearm, he stared Gaia straight in the eyes and let out a chuckle.

After all, despite him doing something so sudden, she barely even showed any emotion. It almost made him believe his charms were no good. But then again, if he managed to pull Zafira and Lilith, he was definitely doing something right.

Still…

“How’s it been?” Rael asked.

Gaia tilted her head.

“Didn’t I already say?”

“You mentioned the war, yeah. Aside from that, I don’t know anything,” Rael replied.

She paused for a moment, then said:

“Then, I suppose I was bored? I was much stronger than everyone in that universe, and with no one to talk to and no one to fight equally against, I felt a little strange.”

Hmm…

That was fair.

But then again, she was a very powerful being, so finding someone who could actually rival her was tough.

Even as Rael got stronger here, he felt like a single hit from Gaia would probably delete his soul.

“Gaia, do you wanna get married?”

She froze at his sudden words. Frankly, even he wasn’t sure what he was thinking, but seeing her so lonely and emotionless… Rael felt like finally taking a step forward, especially since she was one of the women who was likely going to accompany him until his very death.

Much like Zafira, Lilith, and… Maybe Nyx?

At first, she seemed a little puzzled, but after just a few brief moments, her expression turned more determined.

“I don’t know.”

Ah.

“I see… Sorry for asking,” Rael replied with a sigh.

But just then, Gaia tapped the top of his head with one of her fingers and made him look up at her.

“I said I don’t know. That doesn’t mean I refuse.”

“You know, I’m not one for deciphering mixed signals,” Rael said flatly.

“Well… I don’t know what else to tell you. I don’t deny you, but I don’t know if I can accept you either… In the end, I just don’t know,” Gaia muttered.

Yeah…

Rael really didn’t know what to make of this. But right as he was about to try pulling yet another move, another person suddenly appeared. It was none other than Nyx.

Seeing Gaia sitting so comfortably on Rael’s forearm, Nyx’s brow twitched.

“Am I interrupting something?”

“Nope. Want to hop on my other forearm?” Rael offered teasingly.

And as expected, she just scoffed at him and walked away. She just sat down on some bench near the edge of the center and acted like she didn’t know Rael or Gaia.

Because of that, Rael felt like all the tension had suddenly defused, and by default…

“We don’t need to rush, Gaia. If anything, I want to give you a reason to say yes to me. Will you give me a chance to do so?”

She pondered over it for a moment, then nodded.

“Yes.”

It was a simple answer, but it made Rael relax completely. He smiled to himself and, while chatting about random things with Gaia, he waited for Zafira and Lilith to arrive.

And just four minutes later, Rael saw their figures manifest at the same time.
