Glitched Goddess: My Skills are maxed out

Chapter 225: Ch 225: To Bring her Back- Part 2

The inner world stretched endlessly, a place of shifting skies and broken ground, fractured like the mind of the one it belonged to.

Lysera, Iriele, and Jenna wandered through the strange terrain, their determination unshaken despite the oppressive weight hanging in the air.

Every step felt like wading through memories and shards of power that didn't belong to them.

At the center of it all, Kana stood.

She was different here—serene, but empty-eyed, her aura vast and uncontainable, radiating an overwhelming pressure.

She looked at them not with recognition but with suspicion, as though they were intruders in a space meant only for her.

"Stay back. I don't know who you are… but I won't let you control me."

Kana warned, her voice calm yet cold, and the air trembled with her words.

Lysera flinched at the distance in her tone but forced herself forward anyway.

"Kana, it's us. Lysera, Iriele, Jenna. We're not here to control you—we're here to bring you back."

Kana's brows furrowed slightly, but her eyes sharpened.

"Back? Back to what? I don't even know what that means." Power gathered instinctively in her palm, a shimmer of light that could tear the world apart.

Iriele's heart lurched, but she stepped closer, her voice steady despite her fear.

"You don't remember, but you fought for us. You fought for everyone—against the elves, against the wolf goddess. You gave everything to protect us. That's why we can't leave you here alone."

Kana's hand twitched, the gathered power flickering uncertainly.

"Protect…?"

Jenna stepped forward then, her gaze firm and unwavering, her voice carrying the weight of her authority as High Priestess.

"Kana. You sacrificed yourself for this world. That's who you are—not a prisoner in this hollow space, but the one who saved it. We came here to remind you of that truth."

The words struck something deep.

Kana clutched her head, memories flashing faintly—Lysera's laughter, Iriele's stubborn loyalty, Jenna's commanding presence, the endless battles, the barrier she raised, the moment her power overtook her. Then the final blinding light.

"I… remember…"

Kana whispered, her voice cracking as her knees buckled.

Lysera caught her, holding her tightly, tears gathering in her eyes.

"That's right. You're Kana. Our Kana. And we're not letting you stay here alone."

Kana trembled in Lysera's arms, torn between fear and longing. Then the system's voice cut through the fragile moment, clear and merciless:

[Warning: If the user chooses to leave the inner world, current self-state will be lost permanently. Return will mean abandoning stabilized goddess form and reverting to incomplete state. Do you wish to proceed?]

Kana's eyes widened.

"Lost… permanently?"

Iriele grabbed her hand tightly.

"Don't listen to that voice. You've carried enough on your shoulders. We'll carry the rest with you, no matter what shape you take."

Jenna's tone was solemn but resolute.

"Kana, you're not defined by power. Even if you lose what you've gained, you'll still be the one who bound us together. That's enough."

The system repeated its warning, harsher this time:

[Confirmation required. Return will dismantle present identity and stability. Irreversible.]

Kana closed her eyes, her heart heavy yet clear. She thought of the power she had touched, the endless weight of divinity that had made her feel less than human.

She thought of the fear of losing herself, the emptiness that had clawed at her in silence.

And then she thought of Lysera's smile, Iriele's stubborn scolding, Jenna's quiet faith, and the warmth she had found with them.

Her lips curved faintly.

"It's fine."

The system paused.

[Reason?]

"Because I don't want to stay trapped like this. Even if I lose what I've become, I'll still be me. I'll still have them. That's enough for me to keep going. I'm ready to leave now."

The light around her flared, consuming the fragmented world as Kana made her choice. Her overwhelming power, her stabilized form, her divine resonance—all of it began to unravel.

Lysera held her tighter as if afraid she would vanish, whispering fiercely.

"Don't you dare slip away from me."

Iriele wiped her tears roughly, her voice breaking.

"We're leaving together, Kana. No matter what."

Jenna stood tall, her hands raised as she channeled her remaining strength to guide the collapse. "Then let this inner world fall. Let her return."

The system's voice echoed one last time.

[Final Confirmation: User Kana has chosen to abandon stabilized goddess form and return to incomplete state. All systems recalibrating. Preparing transfer…]

The light intensified, swallowing them whole.

Kana felt her body tear and rebuild, pain lancing through her like fire, but she didn't resist.

She let go of the crushing weight of divinity, the suffocating mantle of being something more than human. She let it all unravel.

And in that unraveling, she found peace.

The last thing she heard before everything faded was Lysera's voice in her ear, steady and warm:

"We're going home."

When Kana opened her eyes again, she was lying on soft bedding. Her body ached, weaker than she remembered, but the suffocating power was gone.

She felt… herself again. Just Kana.

Lysera was sitting at her side, holding her hand. Iriele leaned against the wall, eyes red but smiling faintly. Jenna stood near the door, her presence steady and protective.

"You're back."

Lysera whispered, relief flooding her features.

Kana blinked, tears spilling unbidden as she whispered back.

"I'm back."

For the first time in what felt like forever, she felt truly human—and it was enough

Kana tried to sit up, but her arms shook from the effort. Lysera immediately pressed her down, her expression somewhere between relief and frustration.

"Don't push yourself. You nearly scared us to death."

Lysera scolded softly, though her voice cracked.

Iriele snorted from the corner, brushing at her damp eyes as if it would hide them.

"Nearly? She did scare us to death. If you try something reckless like that again, I'll tie you to the bed myself."

Kana blinked at them, her lips trembling before a small laugh escaped her. It was weak and breathless, but it felt real.

"I guess… I made you both worry again."

Lysera's gaze softened, and she leaned down to rest her forehead gently against Kana's.

"You're allowed to make us worry. Just—don't leave us behind anymore."

Jenna cleared her throat, her calm voice breaking the intimacy of the moment.

"As touching as this is, we must recognize the reality. The wolf goddess's rampage is over for now, but the elves are not defeated. Without Kana's overwhelming divinity, our strength is diminished."

Her words cut through the fragile comfort like a blade, but Kana only nodded.

"It's fine. I don't need that power to stand with you all. I just… want to be myself."

Iriele pushed off the wall, her expression softening as she came closer. "Then be yourself. That's all we ever wanted."

The silence that followed was warm, the three of them quietly basking in the simple relief of Kana's return.

But in the corner of her mind, Kana still felt an echo. The faint whisper of the system, now dormant, but not gone.

A reminder that her choice had come with consequences—consequences she had yet to face.

Her hand tightened around Lysera's. She didn't voice that fear. Not now. For the moment, all that mattered was that she was here, surrounded by those who refused to give up on her.

Kana smiled, small but genuine.

"Then let's go home."

And for the first time since her awakening, the word home felt possible again.
