Formation of the continuum. How does it start? Some accounts for the formation of the universe as a big bang, a cataclysmic explosion of light and matter ripping through the void. Others as a result of some divine intervention, a god's whisper shaping reality from chaos. Others due to some unexplained nexus event, a convergence of forces beyond comprehension. But the start of a continuum always begins with an event, sometimes so tiny, a mere speck in the infinite, but with a ripple effect that goes beyond time and space itself, echoing through eternity like a scream in the dark.
The creation of the continuum by Aaron started with a drop of his blood that contained every information of his bloodline, a single crimson bead pulsing with the raw essence of the Night Father, thick with power and legacy. It formed the foundation of the very continuum he wished to build, hovering in the void like a seed of darkness waiting to sprout.
Then the next step was the expansion of said drop of blood to a dimension through dimensional genesis. The dimension was allowed to grow infinitely, unbound by limits. What started as a tiny pocket space with nothing at all, a barren void of absolute emptiness, soon bloomed into a pocket space with a small world formed within it, rocky and shadowed, swirling with nascent energies. Like a glass being filled with water, the pocket space bloomed, creating a galaxy, stars igniting in clusters of cold night fire, then a universe, vast and sprawling with nebulae of inky black and rivers of starlight.
It didn't stop there though, the universe soon branched, creating more pocket space that created more universes or dimensions, each one a fractal echo of the first, multiplying in the darkness like shadows cast by a single flame.
From the generation of one dimension, more dimensions were created. Mirror dimensions, perfect reflections where light twisted into eternal dusk. Dream dimensions, hazy realms of illusion and subconscious terror. Shadow dimensions, realms of pure obscurity where forms dissolved into writhing darkness. Each dimension having expanding limitlessly as well, stretching outward in endless night.
With the expanding dimension, the continuum grew greater than just a universe, it expanded beyond a realm, a colossal web of interconnected voids pulsing with Aaron's will. Then, chrono genesis was added to the mix, making the already fast growing continuum larger, timelines fracturing like glass under pressure. The several dimensions soon branched into different timelines from the littlest of probability change, a breath, a thought, a flicker of intent spawning divergence. Alternate universes, realms and dimensions, parallel universes, realms and dimensions, each one a variant twisted by possibility. With an ever growing web of timeline, the continuum grew even larger, an infinite labyrinth of night-bound realities.
With his control over life and death, and his bloodline, life slowly blossomed within the continuum. Creatures of day and night, flickering into existence like sparks in the dark. Creatures of the abyss and chaos, writhing forms of void and madness. Creatures of flames, water, wind and earth, elemental beings clawing for survival in the newborn realms.
But in the end, only creatures of the night were able to survive and be supported by the continuum, while the rest grade of creatures died off, their forms withering in the unrelenting darkness, crumbling to dust. The reason was simple. The continuum primarily being made from Aaron's blood had its fundamental essence to be Norton. Essence made of the night, a cold, viscous power that seeped into every corner. Unlike mana that was all encompassing, supporting all forms of essence with neutral balance, or QI that supports all cultivation with flowing harmony, Norton was a newly created essence due to the abnormality and nexus event caused by Aaron, a raw, predatory force born from his overpowered anomaly.
It was an essence that supported the abilities of all night creatures, while increasing the lethality of all night abilities, sharpening claws, deepening shadows, amplifying howls into soul-rending cries. If mana or QI or chakra or rune when channeled to use an ability by a night creature, using Norton will easily double the effectiveness of the ability, and if one truly masters the way to utilize and siphon pure Norton, one could increase the power level of the same ability by ten times or even hundred times, turning whispers of death into apocalyptic roars.
Time between the continuum and the normal universe Aaron was in was 10 to 1, meaning Aaron's continuum have more accelerated time than the universe Aaron was in, days within passing as hours without, evolution racing in the shadows.
The continuum blossomed and formed, completing the primary structure and foundation needed to survive with little input from Aaron, but the continuum remained fragile, its edges flickering like candle flames in wind. The life forces born within the continuum frail and extremely weak compared to the normal universe, with the strongest being within the continuum being about E rank, scurrying shadows barely able to scratch the void.
-----
After ensuring the continuum was stable, Aaron finally opened his eyes, his strength weakened momentarily from the heavy toll of creating a continuum, his body trembling with exhaustion, mana drained to a trickle, life essence flickering low.
[Congratulations! Your crazy plan worked. You created a continuum.]
"Yeah. We did it. But it's not good enough. Not yet. The creatures are still weak, and the continuum isn't as stable as I would have hoped for," Aaron pointed out the faults of the continuum, his voice rough with fatigue but edged with dissatisfaction.
[That's to be expected. The continuum needs time to improve on itself. The weakest life force needs to be tempered with time. Breed, die, breed die, till strong creatures can finally be born. It's all a matter of time before you can amass a continuum with near infinite armies on your neck and call. But that's going to take a very long time to accomplish if we leave the continuum as it is,] the system explained, its tone analytical yet patient.
"What do you mean?"
[Lots of laws and concepts are missing in your continuum. Time, space, life and death are present. But what makes up a continuum are far more than those four. To make your continuum grow stronger, you will need more laws and concepts.]
"Then what are you waiting for? Give me more Primordial talents!!!!" Aaron demanded with the system, his dead serious eyes staring at particularly no one, crimson gaze piercing the void as he feigned anger while trolling.
[It's a draw Aaron. Not my fault your luck is not good enough.] The system replied, playing Aaron's game.
"Everyone knows how lucky I am. One time origin reward, three times Primordial reward against a corrupt system. My luck is pretty much good if you ask me," Aaron replied, a confident look on his face.
[Then wait it out. You will get even more reward. I mean, you are "very lucky" after all, and it's a "lucky draw system."]
