Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 928: Remember the suit

After thinking about it and realizing his mistakes, Michael decided to leave the Emporium alone and tend to his responsibilities as the leader of the Nation of Reborn.

It totally wasn't because ChatJK5 gave him a time-out on accessing the website. No, totally not because of that.

Either way, voluntarily or involuntarily, Michael teleported himself back to the Elven village where he met up once again with Lady Farren.

"Ah, Michael. You're here," she said exasperatedly.

It had only been a few days since he left, but it seemed that a lot had changed within Lady Farren. Her hair was in disarray, dark lines under her eyes, and an overall gaunt expression that would make one wonder if she was only a half-step away from death.

"What happened?"

"Oh, you know. Just some business involving the village. I don't want to bore you with the details. It just has to do with the Lunar Celebrations."

In truth, Michael should have been as busy as Lady Farren, maybe even more, during the Lunar Celebrations. But thankfully, he had much more capable people handling the business of Reborn so he could spend his days simply waiting for his Emporium delivery.

"Anyway, Romeo sent me a letter while you were gone. Want to read it?"

She handed him a shining, glimmering gold laced piece of paper. It was only once he felt its hefty weight in his hands did he realize that it was actually made out of real gold, and not just something painted over.

As expected of the Draconians who lived with decadence and sumptuously hoarded all kinds of treasures in the world. Of course he was going to be lavish in his gifts, especially a letter to someone he was interested in.

{Dear Farren of the Acacia Trees, it is I, the brave and gallant Romeo Flameheart. I thank thee for your acceptance to my invitation. Thou art a generous and wonderful Elf for doing so.

However, it is with my extreme displeasure that your invitation couldn't have come at a worse time. As much as it would please my burning heart to ride into the far distance and grovel at your feet, I am currently fettered by the matters of my business.

Thou may think me presumptuous to ask, but would it be at all possible for you to visit me instead? I shall be attending the Soiree of the Lunar Night and hope that you accompany me hand in hand.

Yours truly, Romeo.}

As Michael read this… letter… he couldn't help but be once again confused.

He thought he cracked the code. He thought Romeo only wanted Lady Farren for her connection to the Ancient Human bloodline.

But after seeing the innuendos and the flirty words written on this opulent love letter, he couldn't help but think that his previous assumption was wrong.

If the words 'grovel at your feet' weren't enough of a clue, then the flaming kiss mark on Romeo's name at the bottom of the page certainly sealed the deal.

Michael almost felt a little bit awkward holding the letter in his hand.

"Here, take it back," he said, handing the letter back to Lady Farren's frail-looking hands.

Was I wrong? Is Romeo just romantically interested in Lady Farren?

Michael shook his head. It was no use deciphering clues through a love letter as if he was a middle school student. What matters was that they finally had a way in!

"What's the Soiree of the Lunar Night?" he asked Lady Farren.

"It is a small gathering of people in the Werewolf territory. As far as I know, only those who are directly involved in the Lunar Celebrations are given invites. I received one myself, but I wasn't planning on accepting… well, at least until now."

According to Lady Farren's description, it seemed as if the Soiree was a small party meant for the different factions and companies to mix and mingle amongst each other.

In short, the big names like the Werewolf Chiefs, the Legacies, and other such important names were going to be attending this Soiree.

Like Lady Farren, Michael had no interest in attending such a laborious event. He had no doubt that there would be sycophants there, sucking in all the energy in the room.

However, it seemed as if this was the only place they were going to meet Romeo. He had to attend.

And unfortunately, it seemed that he didn't have a lot of time to prepare. The Soiree was happening tonight whether he wanted to or not.

Damn… this makes me remember that night.

Before Michael created the Reborn company, before he reincarnated into this magical world, and before he became the man he was now, he lived a completely different life.

"Look what I got you, Michael!"

The door to his room opened, and a haggard-looking man appeared holding a hanger containing a pristine black and white suit with nary a bend nor a crease.

Michael got up from his bed, his black hair disheveled. "Where did you get that?" he asked, confused.

"Come on. It's your prom. This is a once in a lifetime event that you cannot miss. Try it out!"

The teenaged Michael frowned. This suit looked… too good. It didn't look scavenged through the trash, it didn't look like a hand-me-down either. It looked new.

"You… you didn't steal that, did you?"

The haggard old man scoffed, appalled at his kid's accusation. "Come on. Who do you think I am? I got a raise from our foreman!"

Just then, the sounds of a stomach gurgling echoed from the door.

"Oops," the old man laughed, having been caught in a lie.

The young Michael pursed his lips, a scowl forming on his face. He was starting to get annoyed. It didn't help that the rotted ceiling above him kept leaking drops of water onto his head.

"Why…"

The old man approached his bed, laying down the pristine suit as carefully as he could onto his side.

"It's nothing, kid. Don't worry about my stuff, I just want you to live a comfortable life and have the time of your life."
