Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1751: The Very Best [Bonus]

Sylas stood in silence as the 001 Sanctum shook. All of its moons reacted as though a tsunami of Aether was sweeping by, shaking to the point it felt like they might very well fall out of the skies.

He had long stopped roaring. His job was done.

The gateway between himself and the Emperor Sanctum was formed. And now, all of the Karma that had built up within him was sweeping toward them in a violent tidal wave.

If one were to compare the Emperor Sanctum to the Weaver Guild, there was obviously an enormous gap. As such, one wouldn't be surprised that the distance the Emperor Sanctum had to go in order to reach Demi-Godhood was farther.

That said, the Spirit Beasts were still an A-tier Race. They had subordinates with B-tier powerhouses in them, enough that their gathering had a competition between B-tiers. For any power to be able to force B-tiers to fight amongst themselves, it wasn't a surprise to anyone that they would have several A-tiers in their ranks.

No, to say several was to underestimate them quite a bit. Though, that went to show just the sheer amount of power that organizations like the Weaver Guild and Seeing Eye Guild had at their disposal.

As Sylas knew quite well and quite intimately, the A-tier was the threshold for Demi-Godhood, and there were two ways to breach that ceiling.

The first was to form a Race so powerful it naturally gained the acknowledgment of the universe.

This was something that Sylas had already done. It was just that he had given up the right to progress because he knew how foolish it would have been for him to accept it.

It would have put a beacon over his family's head, and that was, quite frankly, the last thing they needed.

As much progress as he and Cassarae had made, he wasn't yet powerful enough, and Cassarae was even further from him.

Although he knew that he could drag others along with him, it would take time and effort, and not everyone was as quick on the uptake as he was.

If he wanted to truly birth the Earth he was looking for, he needed time… time that he was, apparently, very quickly running out of.

But there was a second way.

Accumulation.

The universe was far more interested in pushing what was new and shiny. New meant innovation; it meant something it likely hadn't seen before, so it pushed it.

To say that Sylas had been given a green light to become a Demi-God didn't necessarily mean that his new Grimblade Race was more powerful than all the other A-tier Races now active—though it certainly had an argument in the F-tier alone.

What it actually meant was that the others had taken too long to reach that ceiling and had lost the system's interest.

There was also no denying that Sylas' feat was far more impressive compared to the other Races that took generations to reach this level of accumulation.

That said, these Clans weren't entirely abandoned, because they could still accumulate through Karma.

The difference between the Emperor Sanctum's Spirit Beasts and the Seven Races of the Weaver Guild was large, but luckily for the Emperor Sanctum…

Sylas had bet the Karma of the Weaver Guild on one black tile and come out on top.

And now he was giving it to the Emperor Sanctum.

His Scorned Wraps flashed and flames danced. The world turned to black as Karma of two organizations poured into the Emperor Sanctum.

While the Weaver Guild wouldn't take as large of a loss as the Seeing Eye Guild, it would definitely be taking a loss. And this loss might very well make them an enemy of Sylas as well…

If they could piece together that Sylas had done it on purpose, that is. But how exactly would they prove that without Fanelei essentially sacrificing herself and the Analei Clan?

Fanelei was the only one who could piece together what Sylas had done. And she was little more than a pawn wrapped around Sylas' finger right now.

So who could stop him?

Not a single soul.

BOOM.

Sylas took a breath and exhaled. He looked down at his palm, the aura of a Demi-God pouring into him. However, before it could take full hold, he stopped it from reversing entirely.

Even so, that didn't stop his Race from taking a small half-step forward. His body fundamentally changed in ways that were hard to describe.

If he had allowed it to continue, the path to Demi-Godhood for the Grimblades would have opened up again. The difference this time would be that they would become the second Race under the Emperor Sanctum. Meaning, much like how the Weaver Guild was formed for seven Clans, and the Seeing Eye Guild was formed of three, the Emperor Sanctum would become one formed of two.

Sylas, for the very same reasons, chose not to take this path.

And once again, he had out-maneuvered Rhykan.

This was for several reasons. Rhykan didn't know about the Virtue Madness Key. The past of the Madness Disciples had been completely obscured to the point the wrong beasts were assigned to the wrong Sins. It was only natural that such a distant past be erased.

But maybe the largest mistake was underestimating the level of Sylas' Rune Mastery.

Rhykan knew that Sylas was a one-of-one Rune Master. Everyone of the Weaver Guild, the Seeing Eye Guild, and all their surrounding rivals knew.

But there was a difference between that and what Sylas had done.

Sylas had accomplished something that should have only been possible at the A-tier. Even if Rhykan gave him the benefit of the doubt and said he could do it at the D-tier, Sylas was still a world away from that.

The Rune Armors of the Emperor Sanctum were the product of A-tiers forming perfect legacies, and then reverse engineering them to form B, C, D, E, and F-Grade armors.

But Sylas had created an F-Grade Armor so perfect the Emperor Sanctum had no choice but to acknowledge him.

Ancestor Zeekr's words might have been thought to be exaggerated by many, but now there was no doubt.

Sylas was an untouchable existence beneath Demi-God F-tier Rune Masters.

In fact, even amongst Demi-God F-tier Rune Masters… he just might still be among the very best.
