The third quarter buzzer rang out loudly. The score showed on the board: 98–82, Blacklist leading by 16.
The gap had grown wide, and now it felt like a wall Baby-Boom couldn't climb. Both teams trudged off the court exhausted, sweat running down their necks and soaking their jerseys.
Fans roared on both sides, Blacklist's side shouting "Blaze! Blaze!" like a drum, while Baby-Boom's supporters sat back slowly, losing their hope.
Rei walked slowly to her bench, fists clenched at her sides, breathing heavily. She had been in hell the whole quarter.
Her tits rose and fell fast under her jersey, her nipples poking hard, a shameful representation of her total defeat, sweat tracing lines down her cleavage to pool at her waist.
She glanced at the scoreboard, the realization hitting her like a punch in the pelvis.
At this point, she knew Nash was going to win. He was too good, too calm, and her team was cracking under it.
She was furious, thinking about the consequences. Unlike the others, she wouldn't just lose a match. Nash would be able to do just what he wanted with her body, and she could already imagine what had happened with Hina the night before.
His cock slamming her guts like she was nothing but a hole to fill. The thought made her want to vomit, her thighs pressing together like she could squeeze it out.
Nash sat on his bench across the way, towel over his head, smiling at the score.
The Alpha quest was progressing well, minus Rei; he was on the right track, and he started to get the hang of how to handle the remaining girls.
He stopped caring about the second one, asking him to outperform. If he did that, he would crush Baby-Boom's satisfaction, unless a miracle, he couldn't do both quests simultaneously, so he chose the one that would make him closer to Aiko.
He wiped his face slowly, glancing up just in time to catch Rei's glare from the other side, her eyes like fire, chest heaving with ragged breaths that made her tits bounce a little.
Yeah, maybe that quest was doomed too.
He looked away, grinning. It was more of a nervous reflex, but Rei clearly saw it, and she was in the perfect state of mind to explode.
She gritted her teeth and started walking toward Blacklist's side as both teams rested.
Her teammates murmured, "What's she doing?" Everyone paused, eyes wide.
Nash noticed her coming, his smile fading a bit. He sighed, ready for the storm.
Rei stopped next to him.
"You think you can just smile your way through everything, huh?" Rei started.
Everyone on the bench turned heads slowly.
"Happy now?! You're going to win, make me look like a fool in front of everyone, and then what?! You're going to fuck me like some prize you earned?! You men are all the same... nothing but pigs who think you can own us, use us, break us for fun! You're disgusting! All of you!"
The bench went dead silent. Heads turned. Jaz shifted forward, trying to calm her.
"Hey, easy—"
Nash held up a hand, stopping Jaz.
"Let her talk. Her world's crumbling, she needs to vent."
He looked calm; he had all the rights to, he had won this battle, and not because he was leading, but because he was leading while restraining himself to the point he barely scored in comparison to what he could really do.
But more than anything, he was annoyed.
Really annoyed.
His expression twisted like Rei's words physically repulsed him. For a second, he looked at Rei like she was something he'd step around on the sidewalk.
In his head, the thought was simple and sharp: Yeah, no chance. I wouldn't stick my dick anywhere near this level of crazy.
It wasn't even sympathy, but while he was enjoying the game with the girls, Rei's case would be more a case of sweet vengeance, and he didn't feel the need now.
Hoping she wouldn't talk too much now, just in case.
Rei stepped closer.
"See? That's what I hate most about men like you, acting like you understand, like you're so wise, while you treat women like bitches to control! You grab our asses, what make you think you're someone people should listen? You're just an animal! It's disgusting!"
Nash made sure to let her finish. There was no need to urge, maybe because he had improved his control so much that he could clearly see a simple pattern to use in this situation.
He stood slowly, eyes locking on hers level, and let his smooth talk do its magic.
"If you blame me for treating women like tools, why do you treat all men the same? Not every guy's out to do you. Some just play the game, fair and no strings. And, no offense, but you look like the last person anyone would want to fuck. Honestly, if I didn't even know you were a girl, I would've said 'no homo'."
Rei blinked, stunned for a second, but she shook her head.
"... You... don't play that game, because we both know what you're going to do when you win. You men always say that, then you belittle us. Don't play innocent now, I know you fuck your teammates!"
Nash stepped a bit closer, a hand on his chest.
"Yes, I have a very intimate relationship with some of my teammates, but... Look around. The girls in my team are happy, not belittled. I don't need to put anyone down to win. Even one girl from your team is having fun out there. Where's the toying? I don't see any."
Then, he rubbed his chin, crossing his arms and looking around.
"But... Wait a minute. You claim men treat women like tools, but you're famous for using Kai and Hina as sexual weapons to control men. Aren't you your own enemy, Rei?"
Silence.
No one spoke; all eyes were focused on Nash. Rei's breath caught in her throat, her eyes wide as if she had been punched in the soul.
Jaz's mouth hung open, and even Nia and Alicia looked stunned, their eyes darting between her and Nash like they'd just watched a public execution.
Rei opened her mouth, but no sound came out. Her fingers twitched at her sides, shaking, like she wanted to swing but couldn't remember how.
He had her, among all things he could have said, he had chosen the one truth that really had no comeback. Yes, she was the mastermind, she was the leader of the group using feminine charm as a weapon, she knew damn well that the finality of Hina and Kai's seduction was to fuck an opponent so badly that he would rather sabotage his own team just for a second round.
She had used her friends as sex weapons, just what she tried to put on Nash. How was she any better?
With no possible answer, she was frozen on the spot, on the enemy's side, and her salvation came from Miko, who rushed over, grabbing Rei's arm.
"Rei. Let it go. You can't... Remember, the mission. Please."
Rei's lips twitched. Yes, the mission. The important mission that would determine their future, whether they would see sunshine or dicks for the rest of their lives. How could she forget that?
They were supposed to get close to Nash, befriend him, make him want to join them. So why on earth was she here, attacking him?
Would he even want to come after seeing this outburst?
Powerless, humiliated, and now being a deadweight for her team, she was at rock bottom, more than ever.
Her shoulders dropped and, without realizing it, she let Miko drag her away.
Nash watched her go. Her satisfaction had dropped drastically again; he was really close to losing his quest.
He needed to find anything about Rei now, anything he could use to make her less aggressive toward him.
He focused.
[Risk Factor Update: Rei Kimura]
Rei is mentally torn between duty and hatred. She is pressured to win Nash over and make him join Baby-Boom to save her team, but despises the idea of needing a man to do it.
The pressure from Monique worsens her conflict.
Nash's eyes widened.
"That's it..."
Baby-Boom's strange behavior, their changing mood, Miko's words. It all made sense suddenly.
He glanced at Monique on her bench, fan waving slowly. She was enjoying the show, while her players crumbled at her feet.
Everything went south the moment she appeared.
This little information made everything suddenly easier. Like a domino effect, he uncovered in seconds every twist he could use to switch the situation to his advantage.
He turned to Rei and let his voice do its magic.
"You're strong, Rei. Maybe too strong for your own good. But you can't hate the whole world for one wound."
Rei stopped.
Perfectly landed.
She lowered her eyes, slowly pulling free from Miko's grip, and turned to face him.
Everyone stiffened, ready for her to explode. Jaz even lifted an arm in panic, as if she expected Rei to launch herself at Nash. Even Miko took a step back, bracing for a fight.
But instead of attacking, Rei's shoulders sank.
Her face shifted, not angry, but exhausted. Her hands came up to her shoulders, gripping so tight her nails dug into her skin.
Her voice dropped low.
"You really think you can understand me? Don't… don't say things like that. You don't understand. You can't. If I fail, it's over. For me… for them. You don't know what girls like us risk down there. You don't know what happens if we mess up even once."
Nash tilted his head. On the good side, he was on the right track. He focused deeper to get something more useful.
In-Scene Triggers Events:
Nash praising female teammates (-13% Trust),
Nash listens without interrupting (+2% Affection),
Direct empathy or pity (-12% affection, -4% trust),
Teasing about the bet but offering fair play (-1% Affection, -3% Trust),
Reassuring her about the bet's consequences (letting her know it won't be the nightmare she fears).
Nash stayed quiet for a moment, annoyed because she had brought this whole mess on herself. But for the mission's sake, he forced himself to use the triggers anyway.
He put on a softer tone, pretending to be interested.
"I can see you have a lot on your mind. Say, about that bet we made, let's keep it safe, ok? No harsh consequences if we lose. Just breathe and enjoy the match. Now… tell me what's actually going on with you. You look like you're drowning."
Rei pulled back fast, shaking her head.
"Don't act like you care, you're just like them!"
But her voice cracked, and she hesitated, stuck between speaking and staying silent.
She opened her mouth, closed it, tried again, clearly fighting herself. Miko watched closely. The others stayed quiet, unsure.
Nash kept a straight face, pretending to be interested, even though his real thoughts were more like: Woman… just spit it out already.
Rei finally let out a deep breath.
"It's just… things are bad. Really bad. I... I really can't explain much... but..." She stopped again, biting her lip.
Her eyes hesitated to look at Monique, but her brain warned her that she risked worse if she dared glance that way.
It wasn't a clear explanation at all, just a messy hint of how desperate she was.
The most Nash could take from that was that it was about Monique and some pressure to make him join their team.
But to know why the girls feared her that much, he needed more than some hints.
He nodded slowly, acting like he understood every word.
"We'll talk after the match, alright? For now, just play. Enjoy it. I promise the bet won't end in the nightmare you're imagining."
Rei trembled slightly, then let out a long and tired exhale, like a heavy knot loosened inside her.
She gave him one last unsure look before Miko guided her away.
