Doctor and His Glamorous Sister-in-Law

Chapter 419: Huh?!

"Who are you? What do you think you're doing?!"

"Yeah! Why are you holding that person down? Let go! If you don't, I'm calling the police!"

The man pinned down by Liu Ergou was also shouting, "Let me go! What right do you have to detain me? If you don't let go right now, believe me, I'll call the police!"

However, upon hearing his words, Liu Ergou just sneered before hauling the man up and dragging him toward the stage.

Watching the scene unfold, Orange Bear felt a headache coming on. How did this perfectly fine fan meeting turn into such a mess? What's with this Liu Ergou? Why did he suddenly jump out and grab someone? How am I supposed to explain this? I probably couldn't clear this up even if I had a thousand mouths!

While Orange Bear's head was pounding, Liu Ergou had already dragged the man onto the stage, even finding a moment on the way to call the police.

Once he was back on stage, Liu Ergou snatched the bottle of makeup remover from Orange Bear's hand. Then, in front of everyone, he unscrewed the cap and poured its contents onto the stage floor.

Immediately, a cloud of white smoke billowed up with a sharp SIZZLING sound, and a pungent odor filled the air.

As this happened, the audience began to scream. Someone in the crowd suddenly shouted.

"Holy shit, that's sulfuric acid!"

"That's one effective makeup remover, alright! It'll remove your whole face!"

Standing on the stage, Liu Ergou broke into a cold sweat when he heard that. Who the hell was that guy? Still cracking jokes at a time like this! But... he wasn't wrong. Sulfuric acid really is... Ahem...

Liu Ergou shook his head, trying to clear the chaotic thoughts. He then fixed his gaze on the man he was holding.

"You're the one who provided this bottle of makeup remover, right?" Liu Ergou tossed the bottle in front of the man as he spoke.

The man saw this and immediately denied it, his jaw tight. "What makeup remover? I don't know what you're talking about! You'd better let me go. You're finished when the cops get here!"

Seeing how stubborn the man was, Liu Ergou sneered. "Hah. Don't think you can get away with this. I'm telling you, your fingerprints are all over it! Deny it all you want, they'll show up when the police run the test."

To Liu Ergou's surprise, however, the man just sneered back. "I'm impressed you're so good at framing people! Everyone here saw that bottle get passed up from the back. So what if my fingerprints are on it? Everyone who touched it left their prints. Are you going to say they all plotted this together?"

His words left Liu Ergou speechless. He's right. The bottle was passed through the crowd. There are too many fingerprints on it to be used as evidence. I saw him take out the bottle from backstage, but my word alone isn't proof...

For a moment, Liu Ergou was in a bind. Seeing him hesitate, the people in the audience started to condemn him loudly.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing? You can't just grab someone without any proof!"

"Yeah, that's illegal!"

"Let him go!"

Hearing the crowd, Liu Ergou's brow furrowed, but he didn't loosen his grip.

Seeing this, Orange Bear, who was afraid the situation would escalate, quietly sidled up to Liu Ergou. He whispered, "Er Gou, we should let him go for now. Holding him like this without any evidence is just going to cause more trouble. This could get really big!"

Since Orange Bear had said so, Liu Ergou couldn't argue. He frowned and loosened his grip on the man.

But the moment he let go, the situation took a shocking turn. The newly freed man suddenly whipped out a gleaming dagger from behind his back. Without the slightest hesitation, he lunged straight for the chest of Orange Bear, who stood right beside Liu Ergou.

It happened so fast that no one in the crowd had time to react. Only Liu Ergou, standing next to Orange Bear, responded instantly. He shot his hand out, grabbed the man's wrist, and gave it a sharp twist.

With a cry of pain, the man's wrist went limp.

CLANG!

The dagger clattered to the floor. Liu Ergou then drove a heavy punch into the man's stomach. The blow sent the man crumpling to his knees on the stage, his head hanging low. Liu Ergou seized the opportunity to pin him to the ground again, casually picking up the dagger.

Just as Liu Ergou was about to say something, a loud shout echoed from the entrance.

"Don't move!"

Hearing the voice, Liu Ergou instinctively looked up to see two police officers running in, guns drawn.

Seeing them, Liu Ergou immediately called out, "Officers, you're finally here! It's this guy—"

But before he could finish, an agile figure darted out from behind the two officers. Before Liu Ergou could even react, a flying kick slammed into his chest. Although Liu Ergou practiced a body refinement technique, he was still sent reeling by the force of the blow. His grip on the man involuntarily loosened.

In the next second, Liu Ergou felt the cold touch of metal on his other wrist.

CLICK!

He glanced down at the sound and saw a pair of handcuffs snapped around his wrist. Liu Ergou stared at them, stunned.

Wait, what's going on? I...

Before he could finish his thought, a sharp voice cut him off.

"Shut your mouth! You murderer!"

Hearing this, Liu Ergou was completely dumbfounded. What the hell? How did I become the murderer? I've been framed!

Before he could even begin to explain, his other wrist was cuffed as well. Then, a sharp, imposing figure appeared before him. It was a female police officer.

Down below, one of the two policemen who had first entered saw her on the stage and shouted, "Don't be rash!"

However, the female officer paid him no mind. Instead, she turned to the man on the floor and said, "I'm sorry we were late. You're safe now. Just a moment, we'll take this murderer—"

Before the female officer could finish, the man who had just been freed broke into a sinister grin. He pulled another dagger from his waistband and lunged toward Orange Bear.
