[Talent Name: Thorns]
[Grade: SS]
[Description: Any attack that lands on your body will be inflicted back upon the attacker with 50% of the original force, be it elemental or physical.]
The description was deceptively simple, but Sunny saw the full, horrifying picture.
Immuno's first talent, the light from his horn, made him immune to his opponent's attacks.
His second talent, which the audience had yet to see, allowed him to store the energy of those nullified attacks and become stronger for a short time.
And now this, a third talent, meant that the opponent would be punished for every blow they landed, on the immune body of Immuno.
It was a perfect, interlocking, three-part fortress of "no." An opponent couldn't hurt him, and if they hit him, they would only be hurting themselves. It was the ultimate "punching bag," a being that won simply by existing and enduring.
Sunny, the Emperor of the Pantheon, threw back his head and laughed, a sound of delight that echoed in the silent stands. The other Gods, who had been watching the arena, turned to him in confusion.
"Alex!" Sunny's voice boomed, his laughter fading into a tone of approval. "I believe ten worlds are not nearly enough to praise such magnificent, creative talent. I will add ten more to your reward." He raised a hand, a gesture of almost casual generosity.
"And if your demigod manages to win this match against my own, I will add another ten."
A collective gasp erupted from the six billion Gods. Thirty worlds. An entire solar system gifted away in a single breath.
The Gods, who had been merely puzzled before, were now struck by a wave of envy and awe. What talent could possibly be worth such a price?
Sunny, sensing their burning curiosity, simply snapped his fingers. "Thea," he commanded, "show them."
In an instant, the system panel in front of every God lit up, displaying the full, terrifying description of Immuno's abilities.
A heavy silence fell over the assembly. They saw it. They saw the perfect synergy. They saw the unbreakable, unbeatable logic.
And they looked at Alex, the once-unassuming subordinate God, with a newfound respect that bordered on fear. A new titan was rising in their midst.
Sunny just chuckled, listening to the frantic, envious whispers of the Gods. This was exactly what he wanted.
His generosity was a cold but calculated investment.
The first reason was simple: the 25% faith from every God. The more planets a God had, the larger their population, the more faith they generated.
And the more faith they generated, the larger Sunny's own cut. It was a self-perpetuating engine of profit.
The second reason was more ambitious. He was already planning his next grand business venture: selling entire, custom-made worlds.
He wouldn't just sell barren rocks; he would sell bespoke planets, complete with manifested S-Grade mana veins, rich biodiversity, and pre-seeded mineral deposits.
The price would be from hundred thousand to a million, depending upon the resources and size of the planet, and this act of giving Alex twenty worlds was not just a gift; it was an advertisement.
The final reason was the most important. He needed to expand. He needed to fill this empty multiverse with his own creations, his own subjects, to build a power so vast and so absolute that when the Demon Lords finally turned their full attention upon him, they would find not a single, defiant God, but an unbreachable wall of lifeforms, that filled the entire multiverse.
As this was also one of the weakness of the demon lords, as they feared numbers.
"Your Majesty…" Alex stammered from his throne, his mind completely short-circuiting, his thoughts regarding managing ten worlds shattering and reforming to accommodate twenty, possibly thirty. "It… it was Immuno's own idea. I just… I just bestowed the talent."
"And you were wise enough to create such a demigod, as I have said your creation will become what you desire while creating it" Sunny replied, his voice a warm, encouraging rumble. "That is a talent in itself. Do not worry, Alex. Your demigod will receive a personal reward from me as well."
A seed of an idea was already forming in Sunny's mind; a test. He wanted to see if the unbreakable loyalty of a Divine Embryo, like the one Venus had created, could be swayed.
He wanted to know if his Divine Blessing talent, which slowly turned the blessed person into his loyal follower, could override the core of another God's creation.
He looked at the proud, triumphant Alex and the magnificent, unbeatable Immuno in the arena, and he smiled. 'What a perfect test subject.'
Down in the arena, the atmosphere was complex. Immuno, radiating a newfound confidence, pawed the air, his spiraling horn gleaming.
He didn't wait for Uranus to attack. He lunged. This was not the cautious, probing demigod from the previous round.
This was a champion who knew, with absolute certainty, that he could not be harmed. He engaged Uranus in a close-quarters, melee brawl.
Uranus, sensing something wrong, retreated slightly, his focus locked on the deadly, light-emitting horn. He parried a blow, sidestepped a charge, his movements fluid and precise, but he refused to counter-attack.
"You think I can't hit you if you keep defending?" Immuno's voice echoed, a beautiful, mocking laugh. "Neigh~"
Before Uranus could react, Immuno's horn flashed. It did not fire a beam. It became a sun.
A wave of pure, white light washed over the entire arena, an omnidirectional blast that was impossible to dodge.
Uranus was caught in it, and he felt the familiar, chilling sensation of a foreign law enveloping his body, connecting him to Immuno, making him vulnerable to the demigod's primary talent.
Uranus, his face now grim, knew he had no choice. He could no longer evade. He had to fight. He shot forward, his angelic wings flaring, and his fist, filled with super strength, slammed into Immuno's stomach.
The lifeforms watching in the stands, who had been briefed on Immuno's talents, gasped. They saw the punch land.
And they saw, in the same instant, Uranus's own arm recoil, a shimmering, dark energy washing back over him; the 50% reflected damage from the Thorns talent.
This was the terrifying reality of fighting Immuno. To attack him was to attack yourself.
The live chat, now with Thea's helpful descriptions, was a storm of frantic, confused analysis.
Lifeform1662: "Wait, so… how does he win? Every time Lord Uranus hits him, he gets hurt too? But Immuno doesn't get hurt at all? This is impossible! He's unbeatable!"
Lifeform53625: "This is it! This is the most broken talent in the universe! God Alex is a genius! It's a perfect, unbreakable defense! Lord Uranus has already lost!"
Uranus didn't stop. He attacked again, and again, a flurry of punches and kicks, each one a masterclass in combat.
And with every single blow that landed, a new, agonizing jolt of reflected pain shot through his own body.
He was bleeding, his divine form bruised and battered, while Immuno, the living punching bag, simply stood there, an arrogant, serene smile on his face, taking the beating without a single scratch.
But through the pain, through the agony of his own attacks being turned against him, a grin began to form on Uranus's face. It was a wide, pained, and utterly terrifying smile.
"Do you really think," Uranus panted, his wings flaring, "that only you came prepared?"
He lunged forward one more time. But this punch was different. It felt like something that surpassed the demigod realm.
A new, strange, and vicious power, a blessing he had purchased with his own hard-won merits, flared to life within him.
As his fist slammed into Immuno's flank, the unicorn demigod's confident, mocking smile instantly vanished, replaced by a mask of agony.
A spray of blood erupted from Immuno's mouth. His body, which had been an unbreakable fortress, was sent flying, tumbling in the arena, his perfect, pearlescent hide now scorched and bleeding.
High on his throne, Sunny smiled. He looked at the talent Uranus had requested.
