The rooftops of Velaris were always quiet at night.
Even in a capital city in the magic universe, a world that's filled with mana, dungeons and monsters, one would had expected some but of chaos, but everywhere was too calm. Especially the roof of the inn Chrises is staying in.
Of course, he wasn't hoping for something like monster tide or a anything that could cause uneasiness or the bad kind of chaos.
The truth is that up here, the wind was softer. The sky was clearer. And for Liam, it had become something unexpected. It has become somewhat of a sanctuary for him.
He stood near the edge, his coat fluttering slightly in the cool breeze, eyes lifted toward the sky.
The crescent moon hung beautifully above Velaris, framed by drifting clouds.
Liam exhaled slowly.
These past few days… what a strange contrast they had been.
There has been no monster hunts, battles, or anything of sort.
The past two to three days has just been him living his own version of a simple and normal life.
Two casino nights, where he had casually made a total of more than $300m. A club night in Macau that was ruined but was made up by that in Seoul, which was surprisingly wholesome. Street food. A dojo spar. Sunsets, city lights, fried chicken, laughter from strangers.
He smiled softly at the thought, with a warm and unguarded expression on his face.
"I needed this break… more than I thought," he murmured.
He lowered his gaze slightly, letting it settle on the city. Velaris, which felt strangely to him peaceful tonight.
He felt that it was probably because of his mood.
Then he closed his eyes and said the words he'd been waiting a full week to say:
"System, sign-in."
[Ding!]
[Congratulations, Host, on your seventh weekly sign-in.]

The notifications echoed through his mind like a melodic chime. Liam opened his eyes slowly, blinking once as the list settled in.
His first reaction?
"…Huh."
Because it was overwhelming, underwhelming, absurd and completely expected. All at once.
He rubbed the back of his neck and laughed at himself.
"Ungrateful idiot," he muttered. "These are insane rewards and I'm out here judging like a spoiled brat."
He shook his head, amused at his own reaction.
But the truth was simple: he had been spoiled. The system had given him rewards so ridiculous, so game-breaking, so reality-shattering in the past that his standards for "amazing" were now… unusably high.
He felt that he should definitely be given a hard knock on his head. He couldn't help but chuckle to himself when he thought of that.
All said and done, he still has to check the rewards and what they entail for him. The first two rewards aren't already self explanatory, but for the rest of the reward, he will really have to take his time and go through their descriptions.
He focused on the last reward and its description popped up immediately.

Liam took his time to read through the description and after he was done, a bright smile filled with appreciation bloomed on his face. He had finally gotten the magic talent.
"Now this… this is crazy."
It wasn't just OP.
It was insultingly OP.
He rubbed his forehead, as a grin slowly spread across his face.
"This is… beyond anything I expected."
Well, he had expected at least this much from the system, but as always, it just knows how to outdo itself and exceed his expectations every single time.
He couldn't help but think of what he could achieve if the effect of the talent combine with those of Origin Devouring Body. And the only word he has was that it would be insane.
Beyond insane actually.
Also, considering the fact that he won't just be using mana but also the other two, spirit qi and dark energy. Then things are going to get very interesting.
Liam chuckled when he thought of this. It made him look forward more to the day he will fuse all of the talents, constitution and physiques.
The talent sort of gave him a rough idea of how the magic universe's power system work.
The system always uses the general or in better words, the base power system when giving him rewards.
Going by that, it was most likely the same for the magic universe. Liam couldn't help but be curious about what the possible highest number of magic circles the most monstrous of genius has achieved in both Velaris and the entirety of the magic universe.
But that curiosity didn't last long, as he shelved it quickly. He wouldn't bother himself with unnecessary things such as that.
Though, he was sure that he will get the answer to his question in the future, but he doesn't feel like bothering the system with such a question.
It will only waste his time further and delay him getting back to his vacation. The world was huge, and he would learn naturally as he traveled.
There was no need to rush or spoil the journey with answers he didn't need yet.
After Liam was done with the description for his magic talent, he decided to check the description for the other three rewards.
