My Ultimate Sign-in System Made Me Invincible

Chapter 334: Lucid's Growing Influence In Velaris

It wasn't just Earth that trembled under the weight of Lucid's arrival.

In the magic universe, within the brilliant capital of Velaris, the storefront operated by Chrises had become the epicenter of a growing revolution.

And unlike Earth, where civilians had slowly shifted their attention back to work, gossip, and daily life…

In Velaris, nobody had moved on. Not even remotely.

Lucid was slowly reshaping their culture, their economy and even their understanding of reality itself.

It's been twelve days since Lucid launched and Velaris was no longer the same city.

After the incident with Gartner, the curiosity around Lucid exploded beyond anything Chrises had ever imagined.

The device did not just "gain popularity." It ignited a frenzy, as people lined up from sunrise until deep into the night.

And they all wanted one thing: aLucid.

More than 1,000 units had been sold in total. And the store had earned over 100,000 gold coins—a number large enough to make even the wealthiest noble families swallow their saliva in disbelief.

Even more outrageous was the daily income.

Between device purchases in the store and the library purchases, Lucid was pulling in at least 15,000 gold coins every day.

When the people of Velaris purchase the device, their intended use for it because of its limitless communication function.

The fact that they can talk to anyone no matter where they are, is more than enough for them. And it's not just voice communication but even text.

And to make things even better, Lucy made an update a two days ago and they can now send images, and videos to each other. They can also do video calls.

The function was shocking to the people of Velaris. Being able to communicate with their loved ones, ignoring distance and obstacles is already impressive enough but being to see how their loved ones are doing through the call, seeing their smiling faces and exchange images with other, it was something beautiful for them.

And like that, the video call function is becoming a trend among youths and ladies.

Slowly, Lucid was no longer just a device. It was becoming part of daily life.

And Lucy wasn't done yet. She intends to release group chat function soon, but she wanted the user base to saturate before releasing social explosion tier features.

But the real treasure of Lucid to the people of Velaris is the library. This caused the second wave of excitement when it was discovered.

After they had explored the device's library, they realized something shocking:

Lucid wasn't just a communication tool.

It was a vault of knowledge. One that dwarfed even the most ancient archives of Velaris.

Liam had inserted only 10% of the Book of Thoth. Yet that "small portion" contained tens of thousands of spells, skills, arts, theories, blueprints, and information sources.

It was insanity.

Alchemy recipes lost for centuries or shouldn't exist? Rune formations nobody had completed before? Blacksmith forging techniques previously guarded by dwarven clans? Swordsmanship, spearmanship, elemental theory, enchanting framework? Even something new like summoning contract and other things they have no idea existed? Everything was in there.

There was also knowledge on plants, minerals and countless other subjects. The people of Velaris had never seen such an immense collection before and the fact that it was all so easily accessible shocked them even more.

Many realized, for the first time, how vast the world truly was and how much existed that they had never even heard of.

Normally, knowledge of this level could only be obtained in two ways:

Through ancient ruins where danger was so great that dozens or even hundreds died the moment news of a discovery spread.

Or through a fortuitous encounter which was extremely rare, and even then, the one who acquired the treasure often lost their life to someone stronger trying to steal it.

In Velaris, knowledge had always been a luxury paid for with blood. But Lucid changed that.

To the people of the capital, the library inside the device felt like the greatest fortuitous encounter of their lives, and it's one that required no risk, no death, and no fighting. Just a single purchase.

It was a miracle disguised as a tool. It was like they are cheating the universe.

The group that benefited more from the device is the two mage towers, as the two of them has completely lost their minds.

Lucid became a battlefield between them, though a quiet one.

Both towers were suddenly researching spells that didn't exist in their records. Both were breaking research bottlenecks that had stagnated for decades. And both were buying Lucid units in bulk.

And most importantly, they were studying Lucid itself, trying to reverse-engineer it, trying to understand its inner workings, trying to see if they can replicate even one small function.

But they are still yet to make a single breakthrough.

The brightest mages of Velaris could not understand its material, its energy source, its interface, its illusion projection system, its learning algorithm or its instantaneous communication method.

They couldn't even scratch its surface.

The only thing that have been able to find out is the confirmation of the fact that it's a device that functions without mana.

That alone was enough to push the Mages into an existential crisis. Because if a device worked without mana, then it was not from their world.

Ironically, the group that should have benefited the most should be the adventurers, but they were slow to adopt Lucid.

Because they didn't see Lucid as a "weapon." They wanted swords, armor, talismans, spell books, not a communication gadget.

They had no idea that the single most valuable thing for adventurers was not artifacts, but knowledge. But that's different for the smart ones.

Of course, in no matter what type of world it is, the moment something powerful appears, greed follows. And the greedy ones among the nobles started scheming.

Their intentions are very simple, which is to seize the store, its contents and the secrets behind Lucid.

But since the store is located in the business district of the capital, it's impossible for them to make a move openly, unless they intend to go against the royal family that is.

So instead, They have tried to cause trouble in the store but the two robo-guards have been doing their jobs perfectly.

Even when the nobles sent highly skilled individuals to cause trouble in the store and force the Chrises to give up the store, the robo-guards took care of them, threw them out and blacklisted them from ever entering the store.

The nobles were enraged by how their plans were foiled and they tried to abduct Chrises on her way back to the inn, and even in the inn. They also sent high-level assassins but everything failed.

In response to their actions, Lucy retaliated but she didn't do much. Though what she did left scars on the greedy nobles' mind.

They say that the worst type of pain to inflict on someone is psychological pain, and inflicting such pain is something that Lucy is very good at.

When the nobles realized that the store wasn't just protected by physical force, but by something invisible, omnipresent, and merciless, they backed off reluctantly and fearfully.

Chrises, being in the eye of the storm had no idea of the attempts on her life. Thanks to Lucy, she continued managing the store peacefully, smiling at customers, explaining features and answering questions.

She had no idea how many assassination attempts she survived in eight days. And Lucy preferred it that way.

Because behind her, protecting her silently, is an eighteen-year-old whose influence was now shaking two universe.
