The Player's POV

Chapter 172: War [33]

Clack! Clack! Clack!

The sound of ice being stepped on suddenly rang out from nowhere.

"…Are you kidding?"

Kaede's victorious smile had turned into a helpless smile.

From within the flames, a figure slowly walked out.

Like a grim reaper from hell to claim lives.

It was Commander Eden.

Right now, she was no different from an ugly, disgusting monster.

"It hurts…"

The demon muttered.

The flames and explosion had burned away all of her outer skin, revealing the red flesh inside.

"It hurts…"

Eden's originally beautiful face had also been completely destroyed.

She no longer resembled a beauty.

Now, she looked so disgusting that no words could describe that horror.

Now, she truly looked like a demon.

Drip… Drip… Drip…

A large amount of blood continuously flowed from the wounds caused by that explosion.

Eden's body trembled with pain.

Surely, at this moment, the demon was suffering pain even more excruciating than when a person was tortured in the 18th level of hell.

But, she still moved forward.

Moving towards Kaede.

"It hurts…"

Her eyes were bloodshot with anger.

The expression of disdain just now had completely disappeared.

In its place was an indescribable, distorted expression.

All of the demon's resentment was directed towards the guildmaster of the Shadow Viper guild.

Now, Eden had only one thought left.

That was to kill Kaede.

No.

"I must torture her forever, make her life a living hell…"

The demon had never experienced such dreadful pain.

This could be considered the first time.

And she did not like this feeling at all

Eden should have fainted, or even died long ago after receiving the full force of that explosion.

But no.

She was still alive.

The intense desire to take revenge on the person who had pushed the demon into this state had allowed her to stay conscious for a while longer.

This was truly a gift from the heavens.

Eden understood that.

So, she would make good use of this opportunity to kill Kaede.

The demon emitted a large amount of killing intent, enough to cover the entire battlefield.

"Die, human."

As that sentence ended, around her, millions of ice shards like bloodthirsty arrows appeared, and immediately locked onto their target.

Kaede Shirayuki.

Then, Eden pointed towards the guildmaster of the Shadow Viper guild.

Not a single command was uttered.

But, all the ice shards present understood the meaning of that action.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

The next second, all of them, more than a million ice shards shot straight towards their target like bloodthirsty beasts.

Their purpose was only one.

That was to kill Kaede, not allowing her to survive.

"Wow."

Each ice shard reflected the moonlight.

Creating a poetic, magical scene on this deadly night.

"So beautiful."

It was like rain.

A rain of death.

However, facing such a terrifying threat, the guildmaster of the Shadow Viper guild still showed no signs of wavering.

She was as calm as ever.

All Kaede did was grip the hilt of her sword a little tighter.

She had experienced many dangerous situations like this.

But that did not mean she had become more familiar with it.

If the guildmaster of the Shadow Viper guild was careless even for a moment, death would be inevitable.

"Will I die today?"

Kaede's eyes flashed with a cold light.

"Never."

[1000 Slash.]

Shatter!

The first ice shard was shattered before it had a chance to come into contact with her skin.

And the ice shards that followed could not avoid meeting the same end.

Shatter!

Shatter!

Shatter!

All of them shattered before they had a chance to even scratch the body of the guildmaster of the Shadow Viper guild.

Her slashing speed was insane.

It was so fast that it didn't even leave an afterimage.

It was like a magic trick performed by a genius magician.

While swinging her sword, Kaede walked towards Eden.

"Is that all?"

She looked calm.

As if nothing could make her wear that frightened expression.

"Why!?"

Meanwhile, the demon's expression was the complete opposite of hers.

Eden's expression looked distorted.

It contained only two emotions.

Fear.

And unwillingness.

She desperately attacked the guildmaster of the Shadow Viper guild even more fiercely.

But, nothing worked.

The distance between the two of them was slowly closing.

Yet Kaede was still fine.

Not even a single wound appeared on her body.

"Why!?"

Eden roared in agony.

It was as if she had suffered a great injustice.

At the same time, she stopped this attack as she realized how useless it was.

"Why don't you die!?"

The next moment, in the sky, a giant iceberg was created in the blink of an eye.

It was like the embodiment of destruction.

An unavoidable death.

"Die, you damn human!"

Just as those words were uttered, from the sky, that giant iceberg began to fall.

WHOOOOOOSH!

Creating an enormous noise.

It tore through the entire sky.

Destroying everything in its path.

It was like a meteorite.

No one could survive this attack.

Death was certain.

And just like everyone else in this moment, for just a moment, Kaede was stunned.

"Does that demon want to die with me?"

What a reckless act.

But then, a thought appeared in her mind.

To create that giant thing, Eden must have used a lot of power.

Added to everything that had happened up until now…

"She must be very weak now."

That was the conclusion given by the guildmaster of the Shadow Viper guild.

Although it was just a guess, the possibility of it being true was 99%.

With that thought in mind, Kaede once again accelerated.

Rushing straight towards Commander Eden like an unstoppable arrow.

The tip of the sword was pointed at the center of the demon's chest.

Pointed precisely at the heart.

The eyes of the guildmaster of the Shadow Viper guild flashed with a cruel light.

"You really went too far, demon."

She said, her voice low, but it was no different from the whisper of a deadly monster.

"Don't come any closer! Or I'll really kill you!"

Eden began to panic.

She couldn't run because her injuries didn't allow her to.

Just lifting her leg would cause her to experience pain as if her entire body was being torn apart.

The demon could only stand there and scream.

But, no matter what she said, Kaede's speed did not decrease.

"To be honest, I still liked your arrogant appearance from before. Right now, you're no different from a dead dog."

And then, without any mercy, Kaede stabbed the tip of her sword straight into Commander Eden's chest.

Thud!

"Farewell."
